Purpose: This study investigates the level of nursing professionalism and factors that affect nurse perceptions. Method: This study is a descriptive study involving 443 nursing students from two universities. Data were collected in September 2012 via a structured self-report questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. Results: The mean scores for nurse image, core elements of nursing professionalism and nursing professionalism were $3.65{\pm}.46$, $4.17{\pm}.39$ and $3.59{\pm}.45$, respectively. Nursing Professionalism had a significant positive correlation with nurse image (r=.749, p<.001) and core elements of nursing professionalism (r=.365, p<.001). In multiple linear regression, factors that influenced nursing professionalism were: temperament as nurses, professionalism, vision of career, role performance of nurses' image, and fundamental nursing practical experience. These variables explained about 58.8% of the total variance in nursing professionalism. Conclusion: For more positive nursing professionalism among students, more attention should be paid to enhancing the positive image of nurses. Doing so can serve as a fundamental resource for the development of appropriate strategies for nursing professionalism.

The factors that influenced health status were illness perception (${\beta}=-.37$, p<.001), and avoidance coping (${\beta}=-.21$, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that illness perception and avoidance coping were significant variables for health status in patients with acute coronary syndrome who had undergone a coronary angioplasty.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the learning style, learning efficacy, transfer of learning, and confidence in performance competence of Core Basic Nursing Skills (CBNS) and factors influencing confidence in performance competence of CBNS by nursing students. Methods: A descriptive study design was used. Participants were 148 nursing students. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 for descriptive statistics, ANCOVA, correlation and regression. Results: Learning styles of the participants were assimilator 33.11%, accommodator 26.35%, diverger 23.65%, and converger 16.89%. Learning efficacy was significantly different according to learning styles, however, transfer of learning and confidence in performance competence of CBNS were not significantly different according to learning styles. Confidence in performance competence of CBNS positively correlated with transfer of learning and learning efficacy. Transfer of learning was a significant predictor of confidence in performance competence of CBNS. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that transfer of learning influences confidence in performance competence of CBNS. Thus, nursing faculty should develop educational strategies to enhance and improve transfer of learning, and development of effective confidence in performance competence of CBNS programs.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship of job stress, depression and to identify factors influencing suicide ideation of women-workers. Methods: The research was a cross-sectional, descriptive study. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 348 women-workers who agreed to participate in the study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ${\chi}^2$-test, logistic regression analysis by using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: The results showed, among the independent variables, drinking, job stress, depression are significant factors that influence women-workers' suicide ideation. Women-workers' depression is 3.05 times higher (p<.002), and job stress 1.03 times higher suicide ideation (p<.045), and drinking 2.15 times higher suicidal ideation (p<.006). Conclusion: The results indicate that suicide ideation is highly prevalent in women-workers, especially among people with depression and job stress. It is necessary to seek how to prevent and manage women-workers' suicide ideation considering features.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate differences of pre-post simulation training in problem solving ability, performance confidence, and critical thinking skill according to degree of nursing students' self-leadership. Methods: This study was a descriptive survey using a self-report questionnaire. One hundred eighty nursing students participated in this study which programed a simulation scenario of pre-post operative patients' care. Descriptive statistics, paired t-test, ANCOVA with IBM SPSS 21.0 program were used for data analysis. Results: After the simulation training, both the above-average subjects and below-average subjects in self-leadership significantly improved their problem-solving ability, performance confidence, and critical thinking skill. compared with their previous level. The subjects who rated above-average in self-leadership, improved their degree of problem-solving ability, performance confidence, and critical thinking skill significantly more than those who were below-average in self-leadership. Conclusion: Self-leadership of nursing students is an important element in effective simulation training.

An educational program may be needed to develope sexual attitude in high school students.
Purpose: This study was a descriptive correlation research to identify the relationships between nursing performance, compassion fatigue, and job stress in emergency room nurses and to provide basic data on reducing job stress in emergency room nurses. Methods: For the research, this study collected data from August 4 to September 26 with 133 nurses who worked at emergency rooms at 3 general hospitals in Gyeonggi-do with 500 beds, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient with the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: Correlation analysis between nursing performance, compassion fatigue, and job stress demonstrated that the job stress had a significant positive correlation with compassion fatigue and nursing performance. On the other hand, there was no statistically significant correlation between compassion fatigue and nursing performance. Conclusion: The study results showed that the emergency room nurse experienced job stress due to intensive compassion fatigue and nursing performance. Thus, it is necessary to develop intervention programs to reduce job stress in emergency room nurses by alleviating compassion stress and having moderate level of nursing performance.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the critical thinking disposition, problem solving ability, and clinical competence of nursing students in a 4-year baccalaureate university program. Methods: In this study, a descriptive survey design was used with convenience sample of 228 nursing students at a University in Chungbuk Province. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple stepwise regression. Results: The mean scores for critical thinking disposition, problem solving ability, and clinical competence were at the intermediate level. Significant positive correlations among critical thinking disposition, problem solving ability, and clinical competence were found. The regression model explained 46.8% of clinical competence. Problem solving confidence was the most significant predictor of clinical competence, other variables were intellectual fairness, intellectual eagerness/curiosity, and prudence. Conclusion: The study findings suggest that nursing students with higher levels of critical thinking disposition and problem solving ability will have a higher level of clinical competence. Furthermore, problem solving confidence might be the most important predictor in clinical competence. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce the new teaching strategies in nursing education, strategies that will improve critical thinking disposition, problem solving ability, and clinical competence.
Purpose: This study examined the knowledge and perception of hospice-palliative care and terminal care stress among pediatric nurses, and the relationships among these variables. Methods: In this descriptive research study, 154 pediatric nurses who experienced terminal care at least once were surveyed.
