Data analysis has been done by Descriptive Statistics for subject characteristics and by Mean-Whitney U test for comparison between multi-cultural family group and ordinary family group. Results : There are significant differences between the two family groups in terms of the rearing attitude, especially in sub-item 'refusing(p=.000)'and 'autonomous(p=.000)'. Result of the SSP also indicate significant differences between the two groups in total score(p=.002) and sub-items such as taste/smell sensitivity(p=.004), movement sensitivity(p=.021), underresponsive/seeks sensation(p=.010), auditory filtering(p=.016), low energy/weak(p=.003), visual/auditory sensitivity(p=.029). Conclusion : The results of this study well describe differences between multi-cultural families and ordinary families in maternal child-rearing attitude and sensory processing ability of the children. It is suggested to collect data regarding adaptation of multi-cultural families and their child development through more profound qualitative studies in further.

The results were : First, 'headache' item was showed 'the highest prevalence' in second choice demonstrating the neck disability and 'pain intensity' in third choice. Second, female(46.4%) was higher distribution than male(36.3%) on score, percentage and grade of NDI(p<0.05). Third, the NDI grade was investigated that it is composed of 'no disability(63.8%)', 'mild disability(35.4%)', and 'moderate disability(0.9%)' in male and 'no disability(53.6%)', 'mild disability(44.7%)', 'moderate disability(1.5%)' and 'severe disability(0.2%)' in female. Fourth, there was a statically significant relationship between NDI grade and NDI items(p<0.05). These results have specific meaning as future clinical and epidemiological studies. • The purpose of this study was to investigate pre-service elementary teachers' conceptions about the relative sizes of celestial bodies including the universe, galaxy, star, planet, satellite, asteroid, and comet, which were presented in elementary school science textbook. This study also examined the causes of their misconceptions as shown in the study. Sixty three pre-service elementary teachers participated in this study. The survey was developed for this study that asked to make an order of relative sizes of the given celestial bodies and to write scientific facts about each of the celestial bodies. The survey items were analyzed by simple descriptive statistics, and the written responses were analyzed using qualitative and inductive methods. The results showed that only five (7.9%) of the participants correctly answered about the relative size of the given celestial bodies. There were three common misconceptions identified in relation to the relative sizes of the celestial bodies; more than 20% of the participants had: (1) a planet is bigger than a star (46.0% of the participants), (2) an asteroid is bigger than satellite (58.7%), 3) a comet is bigger than a star (22.2%).

  • This study was undertaken to examine changes in the performance of nurses before and after initial cardiac arrest, and compare the performance, confidence, and satisfaction between two groups: group 1, Rapid Cycle Deliberate Practice simulation method; group 2, traditional simulation method. The participants were 122 nurses (group 1: 62, group 2: 60). Data were collected from March 18 to 29, 2019 and analyzed using the SPSS Version 23.0 program, by applying descriptive statistics, Fisher's exact test, t-test, Wilcoxon sign rank test, and Mann-Whitney U-test. Comparing the educational effects of the traditional simulation training vs. RCDP simulation training, some items of performance were significantly different (z=-2.02, p=0.044 / z=-2.42, p=0.015 / z=-3.03, p=0.002), but no difference was observed in the levels of confidence (z=0.388, p=0.699) and satisfaction (t=0.72, p=0.476) between the two groups. This study confirms that both training methods are effective teaching modules for enhancing the nurse's ability to perform resuscitation with confidence. Hence, we suggest applying the appropriate simulation method, according to the subjects included during education, and contents in the training of Advanced Life Support for nurses. Effectiveness of the modules can be ascertained by applying the RCDP simulation training method in various fields.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify current trends in music therapy literature in Korea in order to provide the groundwork for future research. Therefore, 122 articles from the Korean Journal of Music Therapy (KJMT) from 1999 to 2012 and 76 articles from the Journal of Music and Human Behavior (JMHB, formerly known as Korean Journal of Music Therapy Education) from 2004 to 2012 were analyzed. Analysis was performed by identifying the frequency and percentage of the following items: type, population, topic, and methodology of published articles. In addition, the results obtained were compared and contrasted between these two publications. Overall, it was found that there was a high prevalence of descriptive studies (KJMT, 46%,; JMHB, 45%), applied research (KJMT, 51%; JMHB 66%), and quantitative studies (KJMT, 82%; JMHB 37%). In addition, ordinary people with no particular diagnosis were the most often studied population (34%). Differences were found in that a historical study was only found in KJMT whereas a philosophical study was published only in JMHB. Further analysis revealed that JMHB included a higher proportion of applied research than KJMT. In KJMT, quantitative research was appeared twice as often as qualitative and mixed-method research combined. On the other hand, a similar number of each of the three methodological types of studies appeared in JMHB. In conclusion, this study indicates that more effort should be made to increase the quantity and improve the quality of professional publications in the field of music therapy in Korea.
