Margin Adaptive Optimization in Multi-User MISO-OFDM Systems under Rate Constraint

  • In this paper, we focus on the total transmission power minimization problem for downlink beamforming multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems while ensuring each user's QoS requirement. Although the linear integer programming (LIP) solution we formulate provides the performance upper bound of the margin adaptive (MA) optimization problem, it is hard to be implemented in practice due to its high computational complexity. By regarding each user's equivalent channel gain as approximate independent values and using iterative descent method, we present a heuristic MA resource allocation algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm efficiently converges to the local optimum, which is very close to the performance of the optimal LIP solution. Compared with existing space division multiple access (SDMA) OFDM systems with or without adaptive resource allocation, the proposed algorithm achieves significant performance improvement by exploiting the frequency diversity and multi-user diversity in downlink multiple-input single-output (MISO) OFDM systems.

  • 각종 산업기기에서 사용되는 PID 제어기는 단순한 구조와 모델링 오차에 대한 강인성으로 인하여 광범위하게 사용되고 있다. 그러나 외란이 인가되거나 부하 특성이 비선형적으로 변화할 때에 적절한 이득과 성능을 얻기 어려워 고성능 제어 특성을 기대하기 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 구조가 간단하고, 시스템 파라메터의 변화에 강인한 적응 PID 제어기를 제안한다. 제안된 적응 PID제어기의 성능 평가를 위하여 비선형 DC 모터의 가변 속도제어에 적용하고, 결과를 모의실험을 통하여 보이고자한다.

  • PID 제어기는 구조가 간단하고 적용이 용이하다는 장점으로 인하여 널리 사용되고 있는 제어방식이다. 이러한 선형 PID 제어기는 시스템의 파라메터가 변화가 있거나 부하 특성이 비선형적으로 변화할 때에 적절한 이득과 성능을 얻기 어려워 고성능 제어 특성을 기대하기 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 세포성 면역 반응과 경사감소학습에 기초하여 비선형 PID 제어기를 설계하고, 설계된 제어기의 이득과 비선형 함수의 파라메터들을 실시간 적응적으로 학습할 수 있는 학습 알고리즘을 개발하고, 이를 제어시스템에 적용하였다. 제안된 비선형 PID 제어기는 비선형 직류 모터 시스템의 파라메터들이 변화하거나 주파수가 다른 추종 명령에 대하여, 적응적으로 이득을 변화 시키며 추종함을 보였다.

  • 적응신호처리 분야에서 LMS(Least Mean Squar) 알고리즘은 수식이 간단하고, 적은 계산량으로 인해 널리 사용되고 있지만, 시간영역의 적응알고리즘은 입력신호의 고유치 분포폭이 넓게 분포할 때는 수렴속도가 느려지는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 적응 신호처리의 수렴속도를 향상 시키고, 기존의 wavelet 변환을 고속으로 처리하는 고속화 알고리즘과 비교하여 적은 계산량으로 동일한 성능을 보이는 새로운 형태의 fast running FIR 필터 구조를 제안한다. 제안한 구조를 웨이블렛 기반 적응 알고리즘에 적용하였다. 실제로 합성 음성을 사용하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 알고리즘과 비교 및 분석한 결과 제안한 알고리즘의 성능이 우수한 것을 알 수 있었다.

전복 방지를 위한 소형 무인주행로봇의 자세 안정화 알고리즘 (Posture Stabilization Algorithm of A Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle for Turnover Prevention)

  • Small unmanned ground vehicles(SUGVs) are typically operational on unstructured environments such as crashed building, mountain area, caves, and so on. On those terrains, driving control can suffer from the unexpected ground disturbances which occasionally lead turnover situation. In this paper, we have proposed an algorithm which sustains driving stability of a SUGV as preventing from turnover. The algorithm exploits potential field method in order to determine the stability of the robot. Then, the flipper and manipulator posture of the SUGV is optimized from local optimization algorithm known as gradient descent method. The proposed algorithm is verified using 3D dynamic simulation, and results showed that the proposed algorithm contributes to driving stability of SUGV.

유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 영상으로부터의 물체높이의 계층적 재구성 (Hierarchical Height Reconstruction of Object from Shading Using Genetic Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 영상의 밝기 정보로부터 물체의 표면 형상을 재구성하는 새로운 접근 방법을 제시한다. 표면 재구성 문제를 최적화 문제로 정의하고 국지 해(local minima)에 빠지기 쉬운 기존의 경사법(gradient method) 대신 유전자 알고리즘(genetic algorithm)을 사용한다. 이를 위해 2차원 이미지에 적절한 유전자 표현 및 유전자 연산을 제시한다. 또한 입력 이미지를 단계별로 축소하고, 축소된 이미지에 유전자 알고리즘을 적용하여 큰 형상을 먼저 결정한 후 미세한 형상을 찾아내는 계층적 방법을 적용함으로써 유전자 알고리즘의 수렴 속도를 개선한다. 반사 모델로 기존의 람버션 반사 모델(Lambertian illumination model)에 거리 요소를 포함시켜 보다 현실과 비슷한 제약 조건을 주었으며 실험을 통해 제시된 방법의 타당성을 보인다.

  • Active Noise control(ANC) is rapidly becoming the most effective way to reduce noises that can otherwise be very difficult and expensive to control. This research presents ANFIS (Adaptive Network Fuzzy Inference System) controller for adaptively noise cancelling in a duct. ANC system generates secondary control sound pressure with same amplitude and with opposite phase as noise to be eliminated. ANFIS controller is trained to optimize its parameters for adaptively cancelling noise. That is ANFIS train its parameters by gradient descent and LSE method so called hybrid method. This paper present ANFIS in active noise control which provides an improvement convergence speed and limitation of linearity condition. It can model nonlinear functions of arbitrary complexity and ANFIS can construct an input-ouput mapping based on both human knowledge in the form of Takagi and Sugeno's fuzzy if-then rules and stipulated input-output data pairs. This paper also shows that the proposed ANFIS active noise control system successfully cancelled noise.

고속 웨이브렛을 이용한 고저항 고장 검출에 관한 연구 (A Study on High Impedance Fault Detection using Fast Wavelet Transforms)

  • The research presented in this paper focuses on a method for the detection of High Impedance Fault(HIF). The method will use the fast wavelet transform and neural network system. HIF on the multi-grounded three-phase four-wires primary distribution power system cannot be detected effectively by existing over current sensing devices. These paper describes the application of fast wavelet transform to the various HIF data. These data were measured in actual 22.9kV distribution system. Wavelet transform analysis gives the frequency and time-scale information. The neural network system as a fault detector was trained to discriminate HIF from the normal status by a gradient descent method. The proposed method performed very well by proving the right state when it was applied staged fault data and normal load mimics HIF, such as arc-welder.

성인의 하향계단 보행 시 중량에 따른 하지의 운동역학적 변인 분석 (Biomechanical Analysis of the Effect that Various Loads has on the Lower Limbs while Descending Stairs)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect that various loads have on the lower limb biomechanics. The following variables were measured and analyzed; performance time for each phase, lower limb moments and joint angles, and ground reaction forces. The kinematic and kinetic data was recorded by 2 force platforms and a motion capture system while 12 healthy adults in their twenties stepped down three steps under loads of 0%, 10%, 20% BW. Results are as follows. First, the different loading conditions did not seem to significantly affect the performance times and the joint angles. Second, the largest ground reaction forces were observed at the 1 step at the 10% BW condition. Finally, at the 0% BW loading condition the right hip extension moment was the smallest and the left hip flexion moment was the largest. The results show that there are not any significant changes in the biomechanics of the lower limbs under loading conditions up to 20% BW. Further investigations including more loading conditions with more weights and more additional steps analyzed are needed.

An experimental study on two-phase flow resistances and interfacial drag in packed porous beds

  • Motivated by reducing the uncertainties in quantification of debris bed coolability, this paper reports an experimental study on two-phase flow resistances and interfacial drag in packed porous beds. The experiments are performed on the DEBECO-LT (DEbris BEd COolability-Low Temperature) test facility which is constructed to investigate the adiabatic single and two phase flow in porous beds. The pressure drops are measured when air-water two phase flow passes through the porous beds packed with different size particles, and the effects of interfacial drag are studied especially. The results show that, for two phase flow through the beds packed with small size particles such as 1.5 mm and 2 mm spheres, the contribution of interfacial drag to the pressure drops is weak and ignorable, while the significant effects are conducted on the pressure drops of the beds with bigger size particles like 3 mm and 6 mm spheres, where the interfacial drag in beds with larger particles will result in a descent-ascent tendency in the pressure drop curves along with the fluid velocity, and the effect of interfacial drag should be considered in the debris coolability analysis models for beds with bigger size particles.
