  • CdTe thin films for photovoltaic cell devices were deposited on the glass substrates by solution-based deposition methods, at low temperature processing conditions. In order to characterize physical, optical, and electronic properties of CdTe light absorbing polycrystalline material, a series of analysis was carried out in this study.

  • BSCCO thin films are fabricated via a co-deposition process at an ultra-low growth rate using ion beam sputtering. The sticking coefficient of Bi element exhibits a characteristic temperature dependence. This temperature dependence of the sticking coefficient was explained consistently on the basis of the evaporation and sublimation processes of Bi$_2$O$_3$.

  • ITO_{(n)}/Si_{(p)}$ solar cell is fabricated by vaccum deposition method under the resistance heating with substrate temperature kept about 200[$^{\circ}C$] and than their properties are investigated. The maximum output of fabricated solar cell is obtained when the composition of the thin film is consisted of indium oxide 91[mole %] and tin oxide 9(mole %). The solar cell electrical charateristics can be improved by annealing but are deteriorated at temperature above 600[$^{\circ}C$] for longer than 15[min].

  • SrS:Ce thin films for blue EL devices are prepared by Hot Wall Method and their crystallographic and optical characteristics are investigated by various methods. Deposition rates are decreased with substrate temperature, but increased with SrS cell temperature. The crystallographic characteristics are strongly affected by deposition rates. The peak of photoluminescence are found ar 470 and 540nm.

  • Vertically aligned carbon nanotubes are grown on iron-deposited silicon oxide substrates by thermal chemical vapor deposition of acetylene gas at the temperature range 750∼950$^{\circ}C$. As the growth temperature increases from 750 to 950$^{\circ}C$, the growth rate increases by 4 times and the average diameter also increases from 30 nm to 130 nm while the density increases progresively with the growth temperature and a higher degree of crystalline perfection can be achieved at 950$^{\circ}C$. This result demonstrates that the growth rate, diameter, density, and crystallinity of carbon nanotubes can be controlled with the growth temperature.

  • We have studied the temperature dependence on the growth and structure of carbon nanotubes using thermal chemical vapor deposition. All the carbon nanotubes have bamboo shaped multi walled structure with closed tip. The growth rate and density of carbon nanotubes increase with increasing growth temperature. The numbers of graphite sheet at the wall increase with increasing growth temperature. The crystallinity of graphite sheets become enhanced at the high growth temperature.

  • A metal 3D printer has been developed on its own to electrodeposit the localized area. Nozzles were used to selectively laminate the electrolytic plating method. To analyze the factors affecting the deposition, the stack height, thickness and surface roughness were experimentally analyzed according to the current density and the temperature of the electrolyte. Electrolytic temperature and current are electrodeposited when the deposition conditions are dominant over the etching conditions, but the thickness is kept constant. On the contrary, when the etching conditions are dominant, the electrodeposited shape is rather the etched. As a result, the uniformity of surface quality and electrodeposition rate could be improved by conducting experiments under constant conditions of electrolyte temperature and current density.

  • Lithium-ion batteries used for IT, automobiles, and industrial energy-storage devices have battery management systems (BMS) to protect the battery from abnormal voltage, current, and temperature environments, as well as safety devices like, current interruption device (CID), fuse, and vent to obtain positive temperature coefficient (PTC). Nonetheless, there are harmful to human health and property and damage the brand image of the manufacturer because of smoke, fire, and explosion of lithium battery packs. In this paper, we propose a systematic protection algorithm combining battery temperature, over-current, and interconnection between protection elements to prevent copper deposition, internal short circuit, and separator shrinkage due to frequent and instantaneous over-current discharges. The parameters of the proposed algorithm are suggested to utilize the experimental data in consideration of battery pack operating conditions and malicious conditions.

  • Alumina composite membranes were prepared by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using aluminum-tri-isopropoxide as a precursor. Porous alumina supports were used in deposition, which were in disk shape with mean pore diameter of 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and prepared by slip-coasting process. film deposition morphology on porous support was simulated through depositing alumina film on polycrystalline silicon pattern, and its step coverage observed by SEM showed one deviated from uniform step coverage. N2 permeability through composite membranes and the pressure dependence decreased as the deposition time increased. Initially, the N2 permeability of the top layer was tend to decrease rapidly, and then the degree of decrease in N2 permeability was tend to diminish with deposition time. The N2 permeability increased with heat treatment temperature and the crack was generated in top layer at 100$0^{\circ}C$.

  • An analysis of unsteady heat and mass transfer in the Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition has been carried out including the effects of chemical reaction and variable properties. It was found that commonly used quasi-steady state assumption could be used to predict overall efficiency of deposition, however, the assumption would not provide detailed deposition profile. The present unsteady calculations of wall temperature profile and deposition profile have been compared with the existing experimental data and were in good agreement. The effects of variable torch speed were studied. Linearly varying torch speed case until time=120s resulted in much shorter tapered entry than the constant torch speed case.
