  • Interference scenarios and methodologies between a terrestrial mobile service (MS) system and mobile-satellite service (MSS) system in a co-channel environment are established. Taking into account a practical deployment situation for both systems, we perform computational simulation of interference in terms of carrier-to-interference ratio (C/I) and interference-to-noise ratio (I/N) to evaluate the cofrequency interference from an MS system into an MSS system, and from an MSS system into an MS system, respectively. The methodology and results can be used as a guide when planning the deployment of MSS and MS systems with no unacceptable interference impact between them.

  • This study define the concepts of port logistics service by investigating various elements of port logistics service and grouping them in six attributes using a Data Mining technique. The QFD (Quality Function Deployment) technique is applied to measure the quality of port logistics service, and those results are analyzed. The DMQFD (Quality Function Deployment using Data Mining) model proposed in this study is a model for analyzing of port logistics service quality which is produced by combining those two stages. Using the DMQFD model, the requirements of customer could understand more correctly and systematically, and it could be an alternative tool to accomplish a customer satisfaction.

  • This paper considers urban emergency service systems that dispatch vehicles (facilities) from fixed bases with the objective of finding an optimum allocation of emergency facilities. A case study of fire station problem of Seoul city is conducted to analyze the deployment of fire-fighting resources and develop a class of improved deployment strategies with Parameteric Allocation Model (P.A.M.). The study shows a long term plan leading to balanced fire protection for most fire hazardous districts as well as low alarm districts.

  • Because of great damages by illegal hacking, demand for security of the public network as well as the private is seemingly limitless. This critic리 requirement is leading ISPS to deploy new security services for their customers. In this paper, we present active responses for the security of a ISP's network, and describe the deployment of a new security service using the network secured by that responses.

  • It has been proved that information and communication technology (ICT) solutions for personalized health (PHealth) and ambient assisted living (AAL) can support people in their daily life activities. Several solutions have been demonstrated to empower different levels of services through seamless data acquisition and specific users' interaction modalities. Usually services usability and accessibility are handled in the design process and are validated with small users' groups. Moreover, while service design and systems development have been extensively described in literature, service deployment methodologies are not properly addressed and documented. Proper reference guidelines are also missing. The most common methodologies like unified process (UP) or ICONX can cover only the design and the development of PHealth services without a clear description on the following phases such as deployment, service provision and maintenance. These phases present several risks to be taken into account right from the beginning of the implementation of PHealth or AAL services. This paper focuses on the description of a structured methodology to deploy PHealth services and how this process can be supported by integrated software routines and adapting the UP framework in particular the "Transition phase."

  • Mobile contents service providers have some difficulties to timely and proper service deployment due to rapid development cycle of diverse portable devices with different capabilities. A way to resolve the problem is to introduce a mobile contents service paltform that can adapt original mobile contents to diverse devices dynamically and automatically. In this paper, we propose a mobile contents service platform based on active network mechanisms, called Mobile Content Adaptation Network(MobiCAN). The MobiCAN node provides effective service deployment, execution, and maintenance features and accommodates service layering and service customization capabilities for easy deployment. The basic functional units of the MobiCAN node are micro services with well-defined service interfaces and service layering features. For reliable services among the MobiCAN nodes, we design new distributed and robust Overlay Management Protocols(OMPs). As an example of practical MobiCAN applications, we finally describe Dynamic Contents Customization Proxy(DCCP) service.

  • It is absolutely essential to implement advanced IP network technologies such as QoS, Multicast, High Availability, and Security in order to provide real-time services like IPTV via IP backbone network. In reality, the existing commercial networks of internet service providers are subject to certain technical difficulties and limitations in embodying those technologies. On-going research efforts involve the experimental engineering works and implementation experience to trigger IPTV service on the premium-level IP backbone which has recently been developed. This paper introduces the core network technologies that will enable the deployment of a high-quality IPTV service, and then proposes a suitable methodology for application and deployment policies on each technology to lead the establishment and globalization of the IPTV service.

  • The purpose of this study are in selecting a core service and drawing an analysis functions and service sector, based on contents of geo-spatial big data. For the study, the demand survey in the methodology has to be done by reviewing of preceding geo-spatial big data service. The survey has conducted by targeting on those experts in Industry-Academy-Research cooperation. From the survey, we could draw out requirements for the analysis function and the geo-spatial big data service sector. Also, order of priorities in service of four fields(Society, Environment, Economy, Humanities) has been utilized by a QFD(Quality Function Deployment). With the data, the first two priorities and required sectors for each field were selected for the analysis functions. From the result, we could suggest the core service model(plan), and also expect developments following each sectoral core service in the future.

  • In this paper, we studied the deployment of AIN(Advanced Intelligent Network) that was recommended by ITU-T there are five methods of deployment. Here we divided these methods into two types. One is the direct connection with SCP(Service Control Point) and IP(Intelligent Peripheral) via No.7 and the other is the indirect connection with SCP and IP Through SSP(Service Switching Point). First, we suggested the structure of AIN SSP and defined S/W functional blocks. Second, we proposed H/W functional extension for interaction with IP. On the basis of the suggested structure, we mathematically evaluated and simulated two types of the deployment of AIN. In the result, we knew that, in comparison with the indirect method, the direct method was effective.
