The transition from fossil to renewable energy is inevitable due to fossil depletion. So, Renewable energy is very important for energy security and economic growth although it's R&D is long-term and high risky project. We propose new valuation method which combined system dynamics and compound real option method for long-term and high risk projects such as renewable energy. This method can show dynamic valuation results for the complex causal interaction and be easy for Monte-Carlo simulation to estimate volatility. And it can reflect the value of flexible decision for uncertainty. We applied the empirical analysis for Korea's photovoltaic industry by using this method. As results by empirical analysis, photovoltaic's R&D has high valuation using this method compared by traditional valuation methods such as DCF.
$ISnO_2$ thin films were prepared on p-type and n-type Si substrates to research the interface characteristics between $SnO_2$ and substrate. After the annealing processes, the amorphous structure was formed at the interface to make a Schottky contact. The O 1s spectra showed the bond of 530.4 eV as an amorphous structure, and the Schottky contact. The analysis by the deconvoluted spectra was observed the drastic variation of oxygen vacancies at the amorphous structure because of the depletion layer is directly related to the oxygen vacancy. $SnO_2$ thin film changed the electrical properties depending on the characteristics of substrates. It was confirmed that it is useful to observe the Schottky contact's properties by complementary using the XPS analysis and I-V measurement.
Background: CM1 (centrocyte/-blast marker 1) is originally defined as a germinal center B cell marker. It is known that CM1 plays a critical role on B cell development in germinal center. In addition, we have found that CM1 is expressed on lymphoma cell lines, such as Raji, Ramos and IM-9. This means that CM1 might be served as a tumor marker as well. In the present study, we examined the expression of CM1 on the surface of the other tumors and the possibility of the development of tumor screening ELISA kit by using CM1. Methods: First, we have examined the expression of CM1 on stomach cancer and hepatoma, which are predominantly (discovered) occurred in Korean, by flow cytometry analysis. After purifying of CM1 antigen from Raji and Ramos, the optimal ELISA condition was determined. And then we compared the level of CM1 between normal individuals and cancer patients by ELISA. To decrease the non-specific binding of anti-CM1 mAb with serum components except CM1 and to enhance the diagnostic accuracy, albumin depletion spin column was used. Results: CM1 was highly expressed on stomach cancer and hepatoma cell lines. In addition, we have also confirmed the increased CM1 expression on cancer patients. The difference of CM1 expression between normal individuals and cancer patients were more clearly observed, after deletion of serum albumin by using albumin depletion spin column. Conclusion: Based on the results from this study, CM1 might be a useful molecule for the early diagnosis of cancer. In addition, further studies for the increase of ELISA sensitivity and appropriate albumin depletion methods should be needed.
A spent nuclear fuel (SNF) analysis module for the Vodo-Vodyanoi Energetichesky Reactor (VVER) was developed and validated in this study. This advancement expands the application area of the existing nodal diffusion code, RAST-V, and reduces the need for additional code during 3D core simulations for SNF analysis, leading to increased efficiency in simulation time. RAST-V uses Lagrange interpolation and a power correction factor derived from the Bateman equation to bypass the re-depletion calculations, which are used to solve the microdepletion chain. This approach improved the efficiency of analysis. To mirror the conditions during the 3D core simulations, the module used history indices related to the moderator temperature, fuel temperature, and boron concentration. The module can predict 1620 isotopes. This paper presents the validation of this isotope inventory prediction and the application of burnup credit. The VVER analysis module was validated using 28 samples discharged from the Novovoronezh-4. Most isotopes were within 10 % of the boundaries of the measurements. This study successfully offers verification results using VVER benchmarks and discusses the application of burnup credit using a VVER-440 cask.
Methods: Intravenous administration of Platycodon grandiflorum was performed 2 days before tumor inoculation, then mice were killed 14 days after tumor inoculation, then number of tumor colonies were counted. Methanol extracts of Platycodon grandiflorum was added to colon26-M3.1 carcinoma cells, L5178Y-R lymphoma cells and Hela cells, and then cell growth was counted. To observe the immunomodulating effects of Platycodon grandiflorum, production of IL-6, IL-10, IL-12 and TNF-$\alpha$ were measured with ELISA assay and the cell growth of macrophage were also counted. Furthermore, antimetastatic experiment after depletion NK cells by injection of anti-asialo GM1 serum was also administered. Results: Intravenous administration of Platycodon grandiflorum significantly inhibited metastasis of colon26-M3.1 carcinoma cells. In an in vitro cytotoxicity analysis, Platycodon grandiflorum affected tumor cell growth above specific concentration. As compared with control, the production of IL-6, IL-10, IL-12 and TNF-$\alpha$ were incresed. And depletion NK cell completly abolished the inhibitory effect of metastasis. Conclusion: Platycodon grandiflorum appears to have considerable activity on immunomodulating effects and inhibit the metastasis of tumor. Further evaluation is needed for settling this.
Weanling female Sprague Dawley rats were fed diets containing 22mg pyridoxine HCI/kg diet(control diet) and 1.2mg pyridoxine HCI/kg diet(deficient diet). One deficient group and one control group were fed their diets throughout the period of growth, gestation and lactation. After the pups were born and weaned, the deficient group was divided into two groups. Therefore, one(DC) switched to control diet and the other continued the same deficient diet until 10 week-old. Analysis of chemical composition of fatty acid in the total brain lipid was conducted in the pups of 5, 10, 15, 21, 35, 50 days of age. Arachidonic acid content was significantly decreased in the deficient group at 5 days compared to the control, but at almost all ages, there were no significant differences in fatty acid contens among all the groups. The fatty acid compositions of the brain phospholipids were determined on pups at 1, 14, 21, 35, 70 days of age. The content of $C_{20}\;_{4}$ in the brain phosphatidylcholine birth and contents of $C_{22}\;_{4}$ and $C_{22}\;_{5}$ at birtd, and $C_{22}\;_{5}$ and $C_{22}\;_{6}$ at 14 days in the phosphatidylethanolamine were depressed in the deficient group. These changes were not consistent with ages. Therefore, it may reflect that the major part of the changes occuring in the pyridoxine depleted rats depends, not so much on the pyridoxine depletion itself, as on the age or development of the rats.

We have shown that long-term intake of Korean red ginseng (KRG) delays disease progression in HIV-I infected patients. In the present study to investigate whether this slow progression was associated with protective human leukocyte antigen (HLA) alleles as well as with KRG-intake, we have performed clinical analysis of 31 HIV-1 infected patients who have been living for more than 10 years without any antiretroviral therapy. Average amount of KRG-intake over $130\;{\pm}16$ months was $4,797\;{\pm}4,921\;g$ and the annual decrease in CD4 T cell (AD) was $30\;{\pm}29{\mu}L$. We observed significant correlations among amount of KRG-intake, AD(r=-0.53, P < 0.01), and plasma HIV-1 RNA copy (r=-0.35, P < 0.05), along with a significant correlation between KRG-intake and HLA score AD(r=-0.49, P < 0.01), whereas there was no significant correlation between HLA score and AD or viral load. When the 31 patients were divided into 2 groups based on the amount of KRG-intake, the $AD(14/{\mu}L)$ in the 16 patients who had taken higher amounts of KRG was significantly less than that $(49/{\mu}L)$ in the 15 patients with a little or no KRG-intake (P < 0.01). These data indicate that KRG-intake significantly slows CD4 T cell depletion in HIV-1 infected patients.
Background: Curcumin, a phenolic compound extracted from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa, has shown cytotoxic effects against a variety of cancers. The aim of this study was to identify potential microRNA (miRNA) mediators of the anticancer effects of curcumin in ovarian cancer cells. Materials and Methods: SKOV3 ovarian cancer cells were treated with curcumin ($10-60{\mu}M$) and miR-9 expression, cell proliferation, and apoptosis were assessed. The effects of miR-9 depletion on curcumin-mediated growth suppression were also examined. Phosphorylation of Akt and forkhead box protein O1 (FOXO1) was measured in cells with miR-9 overexpression or curcumin treatment. Results: Curcumin caused a significant and dose-dependent increase of miR-9 expression in SKOV3 cells, while significantly impeding cell proliferation and stimulating apoptosis. Depletion of miR-9 significantly (p<0.05) attenuated the growth-suppressive effects of curcumin on SKOV3 cells, coupled with reduced percentages of apoptotic cells. In contrast, overexpression of miR-9 significantly enhanced the cleavage of caspase-3 and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase and promoted apoptotic death in SKOV3 cells. Western blot analysis showed that both miR-9 overexpression and curcumin similarly caused a significant (p<0.05) decline in the phosphorylation of Akt and FOXO1, compared to untreated cells. Conclusions: The present study provided evidence that curcumin exerts its cytotoxic effects against SKOV3 ovarian cancer cells largely through upregulation of miR-9 and subsequent modulation of Akt/FOXO1 axis. Further studies are needed to identify direct targets of miR-9 that mediate the anticancer effects of curcumin in ovarian cancer cells.

In this paper the Hardness and Electro-chemical corrosion of the Nimonic 80A superalloy were studied. It aging heat treatments was carried out at $650^{\circ}C$, $700^{\circ}C$, $750^{\circ}C$,$800^{\circ}C$ and $850^{\circ}C$ with different time of 20min , 30min 1hour, 2hours, 4hours, and 16hours additionally 64hours and 128hours at $650^{\circ}C$. The obtained results were as follows; 1. As aging temperature increased the time for the maximum hardness was reduced from 128hours at $650^{\circ}C$ to 30min at $850^{\circ}C$ whereas the highest hardness was reduced from Hv 381 at $650^{\circ}C$ to Hv 321 at $850^{\circ}C$. 2. In the Electro-chemical corrosion test as a function of aging heat treatment time and tem-perature the corrosion potential was reversely proportional to Hardness which indicated the effects of ${\gamma}/{\gamma}'$ coherency of base material and precipitate. 3. Initiation point of the pitting was observed at grain boundary twin boundary and near${\gamma}'$ pre-cipitates. The results of composition analysis by EDS at this point indicated that sulphur originat-ed from 1N $H_2SO_4$ solution was found in depletion at the grain boundaries and the pit which arouse in the near precipitates were lack of Al Ti and Ni which are the main element of ${\gamma}'$ The depletion of such element was cause breakdown of passive film.
