Analysis of the Difference on Elementary Students' School Adaptation and Academic Performance by Dependence on Smart Devices

  • 본 연구의 목적은 아동의 스마트폰 의존도에 따른 학교생활 적응과 학업수행능력 차이를 분석함으로써 스마트기기 과의존 문제를 예방하고 개선할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널조사 중 12차 년도 초등학교 5학년 학생의 자료를 추출하여 활용하였다. 수집된 자료는 비계층적 군집화분석(K-means), 일원변랑분석(One-way ANOVA)과 사후검증(Scheffé test)를 실시하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스마트기기 의존과 학교적응 및 학업수행능력은 부적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 스마트기기의 의존도가 높은 잠재적 위험군과 고위험군의 학생이 안전군의 학생과 비교해 학교적응이 유의하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 고위험군의 학생이 잠재적 위험군과 일반군의 학생과 비교해 학업수행능력이 유의하게 낮게 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 스마트기기 과의존 초등학생을 위해서는 다양한 학습지원과 더불어 학교생활 적응 상담 지원 같은 국가 차원의 노력이 필요함을 제언하였다.

  • 사회적으로 스마트기기를 통한 활용교육이 증가하고, 메타버스 등의 다양한 콘텐츠가 증가하면서 하면서 대학생들의 스마트기기의 과의존 또는 중독, 학습효과의 저하 등에 대한 부작용이 적지 않게 나타나고 있다. 이러한 스마트기기의 과의존은 왜 발생하는지를 파악하기 위해 스트레스, 스트레스 대처를 통한 구조적 관계를 분석하였다. 또한 대학생의 마음챙김 정도에 따라 이러한 구조적 관계에 차이가 나타나는지를 분석하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생들이 지각하는 스트레스가 높아질수록 스트레스 대처가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 적극적 대처가 높아질수록 스마트기기의 과의존이 낮아지고, 소극적 대처가 높아질수록 과의존이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 마음챙김의 정도가 높을수록 스트레스에 대해 적극적 대처가 이루어지고 이로 인해 과의존은 낮아지며, 마음챙김의 정도가 낮을수록 스트레스에 대해 소극적인 대처가 이루어짐으로 인해 스마트기기의 과의존이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다.

모바일 인스턴트 메신저 의존도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dependence of Mobile Instant Messenger)

  • With the recent establishment of a ubiquitous environment and the paradigm shift to a smart society, the use of mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablet PCs, has become widespread. Thus, the trend is gradually shifting from using Web-based Instant Messenger to using Mobile-based Instant Messenger. Mobile Instant Messenger refers to a service that allows instant messaging as well as data sending and receiving between individuals with exclusive application programs(mobile Apps), which can be used in portable devices-such as smart phones-with wireless Internet access. Korea's portal sites, telecommunication companies, and even big companies have all rushed into the MIM market to join the competition. The reason so many companies are showing interest in the MIM business is because it is rising as a core platform to substitute portal sites in the mobile society, and MIM is perceived as the best means to attract and secure users. The intention to reuse or use continually was considered an important factor in maintaining a dominant position amidst such fierce competition, and consequently, most research thus far has reflected such thought. However, the frequent or long-term use of a system alone cannot indicate the definite success of the system, nor guarantee its dominant position in the market. On the contrary, MIM dependence, which goes beyond simple repetitive use and indicates a state where users actually or emotionally depend on a specific system, can better explain the user action. However, not much research has been conducted on dependence. The research results showed that lively message, concise message, message responsiveness, and social belonging significantly affected perceived usefulness. Message responsiveness, Link, and social belonging significantly affected flow. Flow significantly affected MIM dependence, and perceived usefulness did not affect MIM dependence. This study has proven that lively message, concise message, message responsiveness, Link, social belonging and perceived usefulness are important antecedents and mediating factors of MIM dependence. Moreover, this study is significant in that it explains the overall process of MIM dependence, and expands on the variety and scope of research that can be applied to MIM-related studies.

SMA-based devices: insight across recent proposals toward civil engineering applications

  • Metallic shape memory alloys present fascinating physical properties such as their super-elastic behavior in austenite phase, which can be exploited for providing a structure with both a self-centering capability and an increased ductility. More or less accurate numerical models have been introduced to model their behavior along the last 25 years. This is the reason for which the literature is rich of suggestions/proposals on how to implement this material in devices for passive and semi-active control. Nevertheless, the thermo-mechanical coupling characterizing the first-order martensite phase transformation process results in several macroscopic features affecting the alloy performance. In particular, the effects of day-night and winter-summer temperature excursions require special attention. This aspect might imply that the deployment of some devices should be restricted to indoor solutions. A further aspect is the dependence of the behavior from the geometry one adopts. Two fundamental lacks of symmetry should also be carefully considered when implementing a SMA-based application: the behavior in tension is different from that in compression, and the heating is easy and fast whereas the cooling is not. This manuscript focuses on the passive devices recently proposed in the literature for civil engineering applications. Based on the challenges above identified, their actual feasibility is investigated in detail and their long term performance is discussed with reference to their fatigue life. A few available semi-active solutions are also considered.

Significance of N-moieties in regulating the electrochemical properties of nano-porous graphene: Toward highly capacitive energy storage devices

  • The effects of N doping concentration and dopant moieties on the electrochemical properties of nanoporous graphene and their dependence on annealing temperature are investigated. Four types of N moieties - amide, amine, graphitic-N, and oxidized-N - are obtained, which transformed into pyridinic-N and pyrrolic-N upon annealing. The diffusion coefficient (D') of the ions in the electrode is the maximum at $400^{\circ}C$ because of a high level of N doping, whereas the second highest D0 value is obtained at $700^{\circ}C$ owing to a high level of reduction and N doping. The highest specific capacitance is obtained for the sample annealed at $400^{\circ}C$.

  • 4차 산업혁명으로 인하여 날이 갈수록 연령과 상관없이 과도하게 스마트기기에 많이 노출되고 있으며, 이에 대한 의존도가 급증하고 있는 실정이다. 최근 유아교사 및 유아 대상으로 무분별한 스마트폰 기기 노출 등으로 인한 스마트폰과의존 등 다양한 정보윤리의 문제점이 등장하고 있다. 이에 따라 유아교육학과에 재학 중인 예비유아교사들을 대상으로 국내 유아대상 정보윤리교육의 현황에 대해 설문조사를 하고, 이를 바탕으로 정보윤리교육 활성화 방안을 제시, 다양한 교재교구 개발 사례를 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구의 가장 큰 의의는 유아들에게 정보윤리교육을 균형있게 실시하며, 상호작용이 활발한 다양한 교재교구 개발하고자 한다. 또한 유아 뿐만 아니라 유아교사들에게 정보윤리교육의 필요성을 강조하고 바람직한 유아 미디어 교육을 실시하도록 하는 것이다.

A Proposal of Interactive Contents for Prevention of Smartphone Overdependence

Despite the advantages given by this device, the bad side effects are also notable. This paper presents interactive content on the dependence of smartphone device. The research objective is to make individuals to reduce the use of smartphones by realizing their own problems of smartphone dependency. Research was progressed by analyzing aspects obtained from users participating in the self-developed interactive game contents. As a result of the analysis, approximately 68% of people were aware of the problem through this content. This indicates the potential of using convergence research in interactive contents with other fields furthermore.

Electromagnetic energy harvesting from structural vibrations during earthquakes

  • Energy harvesting is an emerging technique that extracts energy from surrounding environments to power low-power devices. For example, it can potentially provide sustainable energy for wireless sensing networks (WSNs) or structural control systems in civil engineering applications. This paper presents a comprehensive study on harvesting energy from earthquake-induced structural vibrations, which is typically of low frequency, to power WSNs. A macroscale pendulum-type electromagnetic harvester (MPEH) is proposed, analyzed and experimentally validated. The presented predictive model describes output power dependence with mass, efficiency and the power spectral density of base acceleration, providing a simple tool to estimate harvested energy. A series of shaking table tests in which a single-storey steel frame model equipped with a MPEH has been carried out under earthquake excitations. Three types of energy harvesting circuits, namely, a resistor circuit, a standard energy harvesting circuit (SEHC) and a voltage-mode controlled buck-boost converter were used for comparative study. In ideal cases, i.e., resistor circuit cases, the maximum electric energy of 8.72 J was harvested with the efficiency of 35.3%. In practical cases, the maximum electric energy of 4.67 J was extracted via the buck-boost converter under the same conditions. The predictive model on output power and harvested energy has been validated by the test data.

스마트빌딩 환경에서 Zigbee-MQTT를 이용한 사용자 패턴 기반 대기전력 저감 시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of User Pattern based Standby Power Reduction System Applying Zigbee-MQTT in a Smart Building Environment)

  • 국내의 경우 수입 에너지에 대한 의존도가 매우 높아 낭비되는 전력을 저하시키고 전력 효율성을 향상시키기 위해 저전력 기술인 Zigbee를 기반으로 대기전력 저감 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 Zigbee는 IoT 표준 프로토콜이 아니고, 네트워크 기반이 아니기 때문에 별도의 게이트웨이를 두어 네트워크를 구축해야 하며, 국제적으로 제시하고 있는 기기 전력 소비량에 대한 기준도 모호하기 때문에 대기전력에 대한 연구는 미흡한 상태이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 Zigbee 기술에 IoT 표준 프로토콜인 MQTT를 적용하여 별도의 게이트웨이 없이 네트워크망을 구축하고, 대기전력 저하 및 사용자의 패턴을 수집하는 대기전력 저감 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 기존 시스템과 평가한 결과 기존 시스템 대비 약 7.11%의 대기전력이 소모된 것을 확인하였다.
