일부 치과종사자들의 근무환경과 건강습관이 근골격계 자각증상에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Some Dental Clinic Workers' Working Environment and Health Habit Upon Their Musculoskeletal Disorder Subjective Symptom)

  • 본 연구에서는 일부 치과종사자들의 근무환경 및 건강습관에 따른 근골격계 증상 경험률과 근골격계 증상의 영향요인을 분석하기 위하여 2009년 3월 9일부터 3월 28일까지 충청도에 소재한 치과종사자 200명을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문법을 실시하였으며, SPSS WIN 12.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 연구대상자의 1년간 근골격계 증상 경험률을 신체부위별로 나누어 보면 어깨 60.5%, 하지(다리, 무릎, 발) 57.0%, 요부(등, 허리) 56.0%, 목 51.0%, 상지(팔, 손목, 손가락) 32.0%, 순으로 조사되었다. 2. 일반적 특성별 근골격계 증상 경험을 살펴보면 성별, 연령, 학력, 직위, 건강상태에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 근무환경에서는 근무경력, 일평균 진료환자수, 일평균 근무 시간수, 진료시 자세, 근무 만족도에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 건강습관에서는 규칙적인 운동, 정기검진, 규칙적인 식습관에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이의 보였다. 3. 근골격계 증상에 미치는 영향요인을 분석한 결과 근무환경 특성에서는 근무만족, 건강습관 특성에서는 규칙적인 운동 요인이 근골격계 증상 경험에 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다.

치과위생사의 조직후원인식과 조직애착 및 이직의도의 관련성 (Relationship between perceived organizational support, organizational attachment, and turnover intention of dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dental hygienists' recognition of sponsorship on their organizational attachment and turnover and to improve their attachment affinity according to the working environment. Methods: Dental hygienists working at dental clinics distributed 220 questionnaires from the date of approval to October 31, 2019, at the dental hygienist maintenance training site and online. Data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0 program with a significance level of 0.05. Results: Dental hygienists' perception of sponsorship, organizational attachment, and turnover intention were 2.97, 2.86, and 3.43, respectively. The turnover intention was higher when participants were unmarried, had high work intensity, a clinical career of 4-6 years, low organizational attachment, and a 53.7% explanation. Conclusions: To reduce the turnover intention, it is necessary to make appropriate compensations according to the long-term root of the experienced person, to adjust the work intensity, and to make efforts to increase the workers' attachment so that workers and organizations have the same values.

치과위생사의 치과 내 소음인식도와 청력관련 특성 및 업무와의 관련성 (The relationship between noise awareness, hearing ability, and dental hygiene performance in dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between noise awareness, hearing ability, and dental hygiene performance in dental hygienists. Methods: The subjects were 234 dental hygienists in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Incheon. The questionnaire consisted of 3 questions of general characteristics of the subjects, 1 question of noise awareness, 3 questions of hearing ability, 5 questions of dental hygiene performance, 1 question of noise reduction necessity, and 2 questions of noise control. Noise awareness, dental hygiene performance, and noise reduction necessity were measured by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach's alpha was 0.825 in dental hygiene performance reliability. Results: There was a significant difference in noise recognition by age(p<0.01) and working career(p<0.05). Those who pumped up the higher TV volume accounted for 31.6% and 3.0% had hearing impairment in the regular health checkup. 3.4% of the respondents complained of hearing loss, ear fluid, and equilibrium problem diagnosed by the doctors. The relationship between the type of workplace environment and task performance showed a significant difference. Those who work in the dental hospitals had high score of 3.43, while those who work in dental clinics had 3.20(p<0.05). The increased level of noise recognition affected the task performance and it is necessary to reduce the noise level. More try must be focused on the noise exposure prevention. Conclusions: In order to reduce the problems due to noise and improve their quality of life, it is necessary to change the noise recognition in the work place.

치과기공사의 직무스트레스 요인이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Job Stress Factors of Dental Technicians on Job Satisfaction)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze dental technicians' job stress and Job satisfaction level and to examine its correlation. Methods: A self-administered survey was conducted from September 2 to October 2, 2019, on 230 selected dental technicians. The collected data were statistical data on frequency and percentage were obtained, and t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and regression analysis were carried out. Results: When the job stress was analyzed, there were significant differences according to their field of work, working hours(p<.05). Their average score in the items about a job stress was 3.57. As a result of analyzing the job satisfaction of the dental technicians, there were significant differences according to their working hours, plan for task continuity in dental technician(p<.05). The average score in job satisfaction items was 3.11. Conclusion: As a result of research, that as for the correlation between a job stress and job satisfaction, a higher the job stress led to lower the job satisfaction, as every variable had a significant reverse correlation with each other. In addition, physical environment, heavy workload, conflict during the work performance, personal matters were identified as the factor that exerted the influence on both of job satisfaction.

A Scoping Review on Burnout among Dental Hygienists in South Korea

  • Background: Dental hygienists, who play a vital role in promoting oral health, experience burnout due to various factors. This study aimed to identify these factors through a scoping review of the literature on burnout among dental hygienists in Korea to develop prevention and intervention strategies for burnout. Methods: The literature review was conducted following a scoping review protocol, which included five stages: identifying the literature question, identifying relevant studies, study selection, charting the data, summarizing, and reporting the results. Of the 352 documents initially reviewed, 35 were ultimately selected as final studies. These documents were analyzed to identify general characteristics and key variables related to burnout and to review the recommendations made by the studies. Results: Analysis of the final documents revealed that most studies published between 2013 and 2018 involved sample sizes ranging from 201 to 300 participants. Burnout-related characteristics include age, salary, work experience, and marital status. Emotional labor was the key variable most frequently identified, followed by intention to leave, job stress, job satisfaction, job involvement, and self-efficacy. Conclusion: This study suggests that strategies for preventing and intervening in burnout should be developed through both personal efforts and institutional measures. This approach will improve the work environment for dental hygienists and, consequently, enhance the quality of dental healthcare services.

치과기공사들의 직무스트레스와 정신건강에 관한 연구 - 서울지역을 중심으로 - (A study on relationships between Job stress and Mental health for dental technicians)

  • The purpose of this study is comprehension for relationships between job stress and mental health for dental technicians in performing their duties. and this study can make use of opportunity of accumulation of data on dental technician's health care and work environment in future. Job stress for dental technicians served in general hospital dental laboratory were more highly effected than in local dental laboratory. and this result was statistically reliable. There were no meaningful differences in mental health between dental technician in dental laboratory in dental climic dental laboratory and commercial dental laboratory. and this result was not statistically reliable. The analysis of this study could be used by preliminary data to further research of relationships between job stress and mental health for dental technicians in the future. This study was made progress partially under limited members of dental technician in Seoul. so future studies are suggested that the more advanced total figure study for whole dental technicians in Korea.

치과기공사의 소음 스트레스 (Stress of Noise on Dental Technician)

  • Purpose: Production of dental prosthesis by a dental technician causes a loud noise. Thus, we investigated stress of dental technicians due to a noise using a structured questionnaire. Methods: A survey was conducted on working dental technicians across the country from July 2013 to November 2013; among 200 sets of survey distributed, 166 were completed and returned, and excluding the 11 that deemed unsuitable, 155 sets were used for statistics. The program SPSS 19.0 was used to analyze the correlation among the collected data. Results: The stress of noise was found to be 2.83/5 points (2.93/5 for physical stress, 2.72/5 for emotional stress). Recognition of noise was found to be 2.71/5 points (3.39/5 for recognition of noise, 2.64/5 for accidents caused by noise, 2.29/5 for experiencing disability due to noise). For general items, the highest stress were shown for the following catogories: by gender, females (p=.008); by position, chief engineer (p=.033); by monthly pay, 2.51M-3.0M KRW (p=.023); by interior comfort, 'very unpleasant' was the highest recognized (p=.014). For the effect of time exposed to noise, its stress (p=.000) and recognition (p=.000) rose with increase of time. Conclusion: Dental technicians performs tasks in work environments exposed to extreme noise. This research attempts to re-emphasize the necessity for improving the work environment for noise and provide measures of blocking noise and precaution.

Organizational Member Attitudes According to Workplace Type of Dental Hygienist

  • Background: This study aimed to investigate whether there is a difference in organizational member attitudes by workplace environment and workplace types in dental hygienists working at dental health centers. Methods: A face-to-face survey or online survey was administered to dental hygienists working at dental health centers, and a total of 95 subjects were included. The survey includes 13 items to ask factors affecting employee's job satisfaction. Also, some questions were included to assess perception of organizational member attitude: five about organizational citizenship behavior, two about innovative behavior, and four about organizational commitment. Results: Dental hygienists working at dental clinics were more satisfied with their incomes and numbers of working days, while those from dental university hospitals and general hospitals were more satisfied with education support. In addition, hygienists working at dental hospitals were more satisfied with job autonomy, individual work capability, safe working environment, personal relation, potential for personal development, and positive labor-management relations, compared to those working at general and university hospitals (p<0.05). Among the items about perception of organizational member attitudes, the scores of items about organizational citizenship behaviors were higher, whereas the scores of items about innovative behaviors were relatively lower. Individuals working at dental hospitals than those working at general and university hospitals, chiefs and team and department leaders than team members, and those with increased satisfaction with current workplace had more positive perception of organizational member attitudes. Conclusion: For dental hygienists to have positive attitudes as organizational members, working environment should be improved, and executives of dental healthcare centers should pay attention to improving job satisfaction of organizational members. Moreover, since dental hygienists need to improve their perception of innovative behaviors and citizenship behaviors to strengthen specialty of dental hygienists in a changing dental healthcare, relevant training should be addressed in refresher courses or school programs.

치과위생사의 병원실내공기질에 의한 건강영향요인 (Influence Factors on Health of Dental Hygienist by Dental Office's Indoor Air Quality)

  • 본 연구는 수도권, 서울, 전북지역의 치과위생사를 대상으로 2006년 7월부터 8월까지 실시한 656명에 대하여 자기 기입식 설문조사방식으로 치과위생사가 근무하는 병원환경에 대한 상태와 건강에 영향을 주는 요인, 치과위생사의 병원실내질환경 만족에 영향을 주는 환경요인 등에 차이점을 발견할 수 있는지를 파악하여 치과위생사의 건강관리를 위한 실내근무환경 개선과 신체자각증상 감소방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 1. 병원근무환경에 대한 주관적 평가를 통한 만족도를 분석한 결과 병원의 공기가 신선하다(2.51), 병원의 공기냄새가 기분 좋게 한다(2.71), 병원의 환기(2.84)로 실내공기질에 대한 만족도가 낮았다. 2. 자각증상경험정도에 대한 반응은 "등, 어깨, 목이 아프거나 뻣뻣하다"(3.50~3.67), "피곤하거나 졸리며 피로를 느낀다"(3.26~3.59)가 높게 나타났다. 3. 병원실내환경 만족도에 영향을 주는 요인은 병원 공기냄새가 가장 높게 나타나 실내공기질이 병원실내 환경 만족에 영향을 주는 주요한 요인이라는 결론을 얻었다. 그 외에도 병원 실내온도, 병원의 조명, 병원환기, 병원의 시끄러움, 병원공기 신선도 순으로 영향을 주었다. 4. 실내공기질에 따른 자각증상경험정도에 영향을 주는 요인은 "본인이 느끼는 건강상태"(p < 0.001), "화학물질 민감"(p < 0.001) 및 "냉난방 방식"(p < 0.001)순으로 나타났다. 5. 근무환경 만족도를 조사한 결과 실내공기질의 만족도가 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 건물이 밀폐형이고 하루 환기횟수가 절대 부족하기 때문으로 파악되었다.

울산지역 치과위생사의 실무능력 관련요인 분석 (The Study of Factors Related to Clinical Competency in Dental Hygienist)

  • 본 연구는 울산광역시 근무하는 치과위생사의 실무능력수준을 파악하고 그 관련요인을 규명하기위한 탐색적 연구이다. 연구의 대상은 울산광역시 치과 병, 의원에 근무하는 치과위생사이고 자료수집기간은 2005년 6월부터 7월까지 총 87부의 설문지를 배포하여 회수된 77부의 설문지를 최종분석에 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 실무능력은 장에 의해 개발된 실무능력에 관한 행동지표를 수정, 보완한 도구를 이용하여 측정하였으며 13개 영역의 실무능력을 4개의 실무능력군으로 구분하였다. 조사된 연구대상자의 일반적 특성과 총 실무능력간의 관련성은 SPSS 11.5 로 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 연령에 따른 실무능력은 과학적 실무능력군과 심미적 실무능력군에서 연령이 높을수록 실무능력이 높아지는 것으로 통계적으로 유의성을 보였다. 2. 결혼여부에서는 미혼인경우가 기혼인경우보다 윤리적 실무능력군을 제외한 3개의 실무능력군에서 높게 나타났으며 통계적으로도 유의한 차이가 있었다. 3. 학력과 근무지에 따른 실무능력에서는 전문대졸이 대학 재학 이상보다 4개의 실무능력군에서 실무능력이 높게 나타났고 근무지에 따라서는 윤리적 실무능력군을 제외한 3개의 실무능력군에서 치과의원이 높게 나타났으나 별다른 유의한 차이는 볼 수 없었다. 4. 월 급여에 따른 실무능력은 월급여가 높을수록 과학적 실무능력군과 심미적 실무능력군에서 실무능력이 매우 높게 나타났으며 통계적으로도 유의성을 나타내었다. 5. 경력에 따른 실무능력은 경력이 높을수록 과학적 실무능력이 높게 나타난 반면 다른 3개의 실무능력군에서는 별다른 유의성이 없었다. 6. 같이 근무하는 구성원에 따른 실무능력을 살펴보면 치과위생사만 근무하는 경우보다 간호조무사와 같이 근무하는 경우 과학적 실무능력군에서 높은 실무능력을 보이는 것으로 나타나 통계적으로 유의성을 보였다.
