Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the status of oral health in relation to the acknowledgement of oral health trouble and oral health habits. Methods : This study was conducted after IRB was received, on 273 patients who had received health screenings between October-1, 2014 and January-31, 2015 at a general hospital in Busan. Results : Regarding the status of oral health in relation to the acknowledgement of oral health trouble, the rates of dental caries and periodontal disease were higher when the patients knew the reasons for trouble about the oral hygiene. With regard to oral health habits, our results showed that the more frequently the patients ate sugary snacks per day, the probability of experiencing periodontal disease was higher than for the patients who did not eat sugary snacks. Our results also, showed that the occurrence of dental caries is very much dependent upon whether a patient had experienced education on toothbrushing. Conclusions : Patients need to become more aware of their oral health through education. A program that emphasizes the importance of preventive oral health behaviors and the maintenance of correct oral health behavior should be developed.

The data were collected by a structured questionnaire from 26 June to 30 June, 2006. Collected data were analyzed into frequency, One-Way ANOVA, T-test, and correlation analysis using SPSS 10.0 program. Results:First, the mothers, oral health knowledge was significantly associated with their children,s perception of benefit, seriousness and barrier. Second, the mothers, oral health behavior was significantly associated with their children,s frequency of toothbrushing and visiting at dental care facility. Third, the mothers, toothbrushing frequency was significantly associated with their children,s toothbrushing frequency. Fourth, the mother's visiting at dental care facility were significantly associated with their children's visiting at dental care facility. Conclusion:The mothers, oral health knowledge was significantly associated with oral health belief of their children and the mothers, oral health behavior was significantly associated with oral health behavior of their children. The date of 'The fifth korean national health and nutrition examination survey 2010' was analyzed for this study. The questionnaire was measured regarding health behavior, oral health behavior, community periodontal index and socio-economic characteristics. For statistical analysis, the SPSS 19.0 for Windows was used. We determined frequencies, percentage and determining statistical significance using multiple regression analysis. General characteristics showed differences in community periodontal index associated with residence, gender, age, income level, education, division of basic livelihood security. Health behavior showed differences in community periodontal index associated with smoking, AUDIT. Oral health behaviors showed differences in community periodontal index associated with dental care treatment, utilization of dental hospitals, dental check up, tooth brushing, use oral health supplies. In conclusion, in order to reduce community periodontal index of the adult, the importance and needs of periodontal status should be emphasized. periodontal status related education and program for the adult should be operated.
The present study attempted to analyze the influence of the mother's demographic characteristics and knowledge on oral health as well as dental care behaviors on her practice of using dental care institutions. A self-report survey was conducted among 172 mothers of children aged 5-6 attending on three preschools located in Daegu metropolitan city. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SAS 8.01 with $X^2$-test, t-test and logistic regression. The obtained results were as follows: 1. No significant association was found among the demographic characteristics of the mother, her past experience as well as the purpose of using dental care institutions. 2. There was significant relationship between the mother's knowledge and behavior concerning oral health and her past experience of using dental care institutions; the mothers having a higher level of knowledge and who thought they themselves didn't have healthy teeth and gum tended to have more visits to dental care institutions(pE0.05). There was also significant relationship between their purpose and their actual practice of using dental care institutions: the mothers having a higher level of knowledge and who thought their own oral health was good tended to visit dental institutions more for the preventive purpose than for treatments(pE0.05). 3. As a result of logistic regression, the variables formed as models were their knowledge on oral health and their values for oral health. The standardized coefficients for the two variables were -0.19 and 0.19, respectively. For the mother's purpose of visiting dental care institutions, the variables formed as models were their knowledge on oral health and their values for oral health. The standardized coefficients for the two variables were -0.40 and -0.37, respectively. The relative contributions of the two variables to the mother's practice of using dental care institutions were on the similar level.
This study aimed to examine whether needs for scaling are associated with health behaviors in a representative sample of middle-aged Korean people. We examined 5120 individuals aged 40 to 64 years who participated in the Seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed with adjustments for demographic variables and health status. This analysis revealed significant associations between needs for scaling and the following: current smoking, no visits to dental clinics, current drinking, non-oral checkups, and non-use of oral care products. As a result of a subgroup analysis, significant factors differed according to gender. As a result of this study, needs for scaling were associated with identified health behaviors and findings about health behaviors that are effective for maintaining and promoting periodontal health in middle-aged people were confirmed.

Excluding five copies with incomplete answers, 203 copies of the questionnaire were were analyzed. Health risk behaviors (drinking and smoking), perceived oral health, OHIP-14 and happiness were measured. The data were analyzed with a t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression using the SPSS 22.0 program. Results: The amount of daily cigarette consumption of soldiers (66 people) was an average of 10.11 cigarette. The mean of OHIP-14 and that of happiness were 4.43 and 4.05, respectively. The higher the quality perceived oral health, the better the OHIP-14 (r=0.234) and happiness (r=0.192) were. The higher the OHIP-14, the higher the happiness (r=0.357). OHIP-14 was related to army, perceived oral health and happiness. The explanatory power of the model was 17.0%. Conclusions: OHIP-14 is associated with happiness.
