  • Nowadays, Cone-Beam CT is widely supplied in dental clinics, the distribution rate in south korea is highly ranked worldwidely. Recently, The number of Cone-Beam CTs reached 10 thousands according to national healthcare system report. Also, dental manufacturers released many kinds of In-house 3D digital printers, the distribution rate of which rises rapidly in dental clinics. Accordingly, using Cone-Beam CT data and Intraloral scan data, the application of implant guide surgery is widespread in a unit of private clinic. Through the previous articles, the latest methods of computer-guided implant surgery are reviewed, and also the considerations for precise and reliable guide surgery are summarized.

  • The All-Bond system is a unique development in the field of adhesive dentistry. It is a universal bonding system that will bond composite to all dental-related surfaces: dentin, enamel, metal alloy (precious and nonprecious), amalgam, porcelain, and composite. It is also the only system that allows use of both the conservative and all-etch techniques. The main purpose of this paper is to explain the features of the All-Bond system. Its chemistry and a working hypothesis are shown as well.

  • Zinc phosphate cement has long been the material of choice for permanent luting of cast restorations, and through many years of use has been considered effective to retain castings. However, cast restorations cemented with this material have been susceptible to secondary caries. Glass ionomer luting agents become available in the late 1970s. These material s, through release of fluoride, show considerable promise as a means of reducing secondary caries. Other favorable traits include significantly less disintegration in vivo than zinc phosphate cements, a film thickness comparable to that of zinc phosphate cement, and adhesion to tooth structure. Compomer materials were created in 1993 as a filling material for deciduous teeth, cervical lesions, and class III cavities. In the meantime, compomer have been developed as chemical hardening cements for cast gold restorations. The aim of this paper is to review the articles on luting cements to help the choice of dental cements.

  • 381 students including elementary school boys 75, girls 76 & middle school boys 115, girls 115 were examined to study the factors of dental esthetic self-evaluation: as measured by questionnaire & dental examination. The following results were obtained: 1. In the case of the girls, the more severely rotated or displaced the upper anterior teeth were, the uglier they felt themselves. 2. The students showed the tendency to answer that they were satisfied or had no feeling one way or the other even though their teeth were less straight than others. 3. Most of the students could not relate their teeth to the over-all facial appearance. 4. In the case of the elementary-school-boys, they felt themselves ugly when the overjet & overbite were excessive: in the case of the middle-school-girls, they felt themselves ugly when the rotation & displacement of the upper & lower anterior teeth were severe. 5. Angle's classification showed no statistical significancy.

  • In growing patients with Class III malocclusion and midfacial deficiency, the treatment protocol calls for orthopedic maxillary protraction and clinicians choose the facemask therapy generally. But facemask is not esthetic or comfortable to patients because it should be worn extraorally. Consequently it is difficult to obtain patients cooperation, and this often influences the treatment effects negatively. MTA (modified tandem appliance), that is a small intraoral appliance, is carried conveniently and esthetic relatively. So it seemed more patient-friendly than a facemask. While the treatment effect of this is similar to that of a facemask. This report presents skeletal Class III malocclusion two cases treated by MTA with good results.

  • Resricted opening of the mouth in children can be derived from a variety af extra and intra articular causes. A 5-year-old female patient with an elongated right coronoid process and with congenital missing teeth came to clinic for wearing of esthetic denture. A proper medical consultation and laboratory test had done for assessment a systemic syndrome related to her dental anomalies. The result was that her systemic findings dindn't accord specific signs and symptoms of Hallermann-Streiff syndrome. Unilateral coronoidectomy was fulfilled to improve mouth opening and subsequently endodontic and restorative procedure. Maxillary partial denture was delivered for esthetic problem. The periodic recall medical/dental check-up are recommended.

  • Amelogenesis imperfecta patients suffered common clinical problems of poor esthetics, teeth sensitivity, and loss of occlusal vertical dimension. Amelogenesis imperfecta is a group of inherited disorders primarily affecting dental enamel. Variants of amelogenesis imperfecta generally classified hypoplastic, hypocalcified, or hypomaturation types based on the primary enamel defects. The mildest problems were found in the pitted hypoplastic type whereas the most severe problems were encountered in the hypocalcified type amelogenesis imperfecta. Management stragies include composite resin veneer and jacket crowns for anterior teeth as well as steel crowns for posterior teeth. Knowledge of the clinical features and dental complications of each variants if amelogenesis impecta helps in the diagnosis of the condition and allows institution of early preventive measures. The objective of this paper is to provide a review of the current concepts of the wide spectrum of etiological factors involved in the pathogenesis of this significance clinical entity in the primary dentition.

  • Generalized aggressive periodontitis cause intrabony pocket, loss of teeth, and severe alveolar bone defect. As a result, pathologic tooth migration occurs and esthetic problem happens according to this, especially on the anterior teeth of maxilla. The purpose of this study was to assess the multidisciplinary treatment including periodontics, orthodontics and prosthetics of a patient caused by generalized aggressive periodontitis. This study presents a case using full mouth periodontal treatment, immediate orthodontic treatment for 5 months, implantation with guided bone regeneration and free gingival graft, and prosthetic treatment. Treatments took totally 14 months. Periodontal indicators such as probing pocket depth, bleeding on probing, tooth mobility improved. Also, the patient was satisfied with the esthetic and functional improvement.
