곡면 자기연마에서의 자기력 형성과 가공특성에 관한 연구 (Evaluations of Magnetic Abrasive Polishing and Distribution of Magnetic Flux Density on the Curvature of Non-Ferrous Material)

  • 비자성체의 자유곡면 자기연마 공정에서 자기력 세기의 향상은 매우 중요하다. 비자성체 자유곡면의 표면에 발생하는 자기력의 세기에 따라 자기연마 입자가 가지는 수직 절삭력이 변화하기 때문이다. 이러한 자기력 향상을 위하여 전자석 배열 테이블이 적용된 제 2세대 자기연마공정이 비자성체의 자유곡면 자기연마에 적용된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 제 2세대 자기연마공정에서 전자석 배열 테이블에 발생하는 자기력 세기 향상을 위한 극성배열 방법을 제시하고 이를 알루미늄합금의 곡률 자기연마에 적용하였다. 그 결과 볼록 및 오목 형상에서 각각 S-N-S와 S-N-N-N-S 극성 배열에서 가장 높은 표면거칠기의 향상을 확인하였다. 또한 상승 가공경로에서 상대적으로 높은 표면거칠기 향상을 나타내었다.

Physical and electrical properties of PLA-carbon composites

  • Polylactic acid or polylactide (PLA) is a biodegradable thermoplastic that can be produced from renewable material to create various components for industrial purposes. In 3D printing technology, PLA is used due to its good mechanical, electrical, printing properties, environmentally friendly and non-toxic properties. However, the physical properties and excellent electrical insulation properties of PLA have limited its application. In this study, with the carbon black (CB) as filler added into PLA, the lattice spacing and morphology were investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM), respectively. The physical properties of PLA-carbon composite were evaluated by using tensile test, shore D hardness test and density and voids measurement. Impedance test was conducted to investigate the electrical properties of PLA-Carbon composites. The results demonstrate that the inclusion of carbon black as filler enhances the physical properties of the PLA-carbon composites, including tensile properties, hardness, and density. The addition of carbon black also leads to improved electrical conductivity of the composites. Better enhancement toward the electrical properties of PLA-carbon composites is observed with 1wt% of carbon black in N774 grade. The N550 grade with 2wt% of carbon black shows better improvement in the physical properties of PLA-carbon composites, achieving 10.686 MPa in tensile testing, 43.330 in shore D hardness test, and a density of 1.200 g/cm3 in density measurement. The findings suggest that PLA-carbon composites have the potential for enhanced performance in various industrial applications, particularly in sectors requiring improved physical and electrical properties.

GIS 기반 유역 배수 밀도의 공간분포도 작성 (Mapping the Spatial Distribution of Drainage Density Based on GIS)

  • 하천에 의하여 지면이 절개되는 정도로 정의되는 배수밀도는 유역의 형태학적 응답을 포괄적으로 반영하는 자연 지형의 근본적인 특성으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 배수밀도에 대한 통계학적 접근방법을 기반으로 해당 지형 인자의 공간적 변동성을 분석하고 이로부터 배수밀도의 공간적 변동성을 도시할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. 지표면 유하거리의 통계학적 특성을 분석해 본 결과 이 지형인자는 고도의 공간적 변동성으로 대표되는 자연지형의 고유한 특성들 중 하나임을 확인할 수 있었다. 이로부터 본 연구에서 제시한 분포도 형태의 배수밀도는 고전적인 정의의 배수밀도보다 유용한 도구가 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

혼합 및 유체윤활하에서 Micro-Scale Dimple Pattern의 마찰특성 (Friction Characteristics of Micro-scale Dimple Pattern under Mixed and Hydrodynamic Lubrication Condition)

  • Surface texturing of tribological application is another attractive technology of friction reducing. Also, reduction of friction is therefore considered to be a necessary requirement for improved efficiency of machine. In this paper attempts to investigate the effect of density for micro-scale dimple pattern on bearing steel flat mated with pin-on-disk. We demonstrated the lubrication mechanism for a Stribeck curve, which has a relationship between the friction coefficient and a dimensionless parameter for lubrication condition. It is found that friction coefficient is depended on the density of surface pattern. It was thus verified that micro-scale dimple could affect the friction reduction considerably under mixed and hydrodynamic lubrication conditions from based on friction map. Lubrication condition regime has an influence on the friction coefficient induced the density of micro dimple.

지하수오염 예측을 위한 GIS 활용연구 (A STUDY ON THE PREDICTION OF GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION USING GIS)

  • This study has tried to develop the modified DRASTIC Model by supplying the parameters, such as structural lineament density and land-use, into conventional DRASTIC model, and to predict the potential of groundwater contamination using GIS in Hwanam 2 District, Gyeonggi Province, Korea. Since the aquifers in Korea is generally through the joints of rock-mass in hydrogeological environment, lineament density affects to the behavior of groundwater and contaminated plumes directly, and land-use reflect the effect of point or non-point source of contamination indirectly. For the statistical analysis, lattice-layers of each parameter were generated, and then level of confidence was assessed by analyzing each correlation coefficient. Groundwater contamination potential map was achieved as a final result by comparing modified DRASTIC potential and the amount of pollutant load logically. The result suggest the predictability of contamination potential in a specified area in the respects of hydrogeological aspect and water quality.

Barium 조영제의 농도 차이가 PET 검사에 미치는 영향 (Influence on PET Exam Caused by Density Differences of Barium-sulfate Contrast Media)

  • Purpose: The evaluation of SUV (Standardized Uptake Values) for quantitative analysis in PET exam is the most significant. In PET exam, we make attenuation correction images by using $^{68}Ge$, $^{137}Cs$ or CT data. At this time, a distorted attenuation map affects quantitative analysis. After the exam using barium-sulfate and high density of barium contrast make attenuation map distorted. And then it brings bed influences on SUV. The aim of this study is to verify the relationship between high density barium-sulfate and SUV in PET exam. Materials and Methods By using $^{18}F$-FDG, we made barium-sulfate powder, density of 0, 1.5, 3, 5, 10 and 15% respectively and acquired PET and PET/CT images per each density. And we examined SUV variations from PET and PET/CT images according to differences of barium's density. Moreover, we finally calculated SUV causing variations in HU (Hounsfield Units) values to justify whether the differences of barium density bring any changes in PET/CT exam. Results: From PET images acquired from transmission scan with $^{68}Ge$, we got SUV figures from 6.46 to 6.8 in barium density between 0 to 15 percent. On the other hand, In PET images acquired from Tx scan that using CT, SUV was 6.77 to 23.73, derived from the same barium density. And CT HU values range from 29 to 2004. Conclusion: PET images from Tx data using $^{68}Ge$ weren't affected by barium density and had no differences in SUV. But in the PET/CT images using CT Tx data, there's considerable variations in HU and SUV values according to a difference of barium density in HU values. To perform a precise examination, barium sulfate should be removed from a human body before performing a PET exam.

  • A CFAR algorithm for weibull clutter is discussed. The Maximum a posteriori(MAP) estimator for two parameters(skewness and scale) of the weibull clutter is proposed, assuming the probability density function of skewness parameter is known. And proposed MAP estimator is compared with the Maximum likelihood(ML) estimator. Using this MAP estimator, we can design CFAR detector which is shown to have smaller CFAR loss than ML CFAR detector by the statistical simulation method.

  • With the recent development of computer vision technology, image processing-based mechanical devices are being developed to realize autonomous driving. The camera-taken images of image processing-based machines are invisible due to scattering and absorption of light in foggy conditions. This lowers the object recognition rate and causes malfunction. The safety of the technology is very important because the malfunction of autonomous driving leads to human casualties. In order to increase the stability of the technology, it is necessary to apply an efficient haze removal algorithm to the camera. In the conventional haze removal method, since the haze removal operation is performed regardless of the haze concentration of the input image, excessive haze is removed and the quality of the resulting image is deteriorated. In this paper, we propose an automatic haze removal method that removes haze according to the haze density of the input image by applying Ngo's Haziness Degree Evaluator (HDE) to Kim's haze removal algorithm using Hazy Particle Map. The proposed haze removal method removes the haze according to the haze concentration of the input image, thereby preventing the quality degradation of the input image that does not require haze removal and solving the problem of excessive haze removal. The superiority of the proposed haze removal method is verified through qualitative and quantitative evaluation.

전해-자기 복합 가공을 이용한 마이크로 채널 디버링공정 최적화 (A Study on the Optimization of Deburring Process for the Micro Channel using EP-MAP Hybrid Process)

  • Magnetic abrasive polishing is one of the most promising finishing methods applicable to complex surfaces. Nevertheless this process has a low efficiency when applied to very hardened materials. For this reason, EP-MAP hybrid process was developed. EP-MAP process is expected to machine complex and hardened materials. In this research, deburring process using EP-MAP hybrid process was proposed. EP-MAP deburring process is applied to micro channel, thereby it can obtain both deburring process and polishing process. EP-MAP deburring process on the micro channel was performed. Through design of experiment method, error of height in this process according to process parameter is analyzed. When the level 1 parameter A(magnetic flux density) and level 2 parameter B(electric potential), C(working gap) and level 3 parameter D(feed rate) are applied in the deburring process using EP-MAP hybrid process, it provides optimum result of EP-MAP hybrid deburring process.
