The Impact of Food Delivery Apps on Urban Hotels after the Pandemic and its Implications

  • Purpose: The primary purpose of this research is to investigate the multidisciplinary effect of food delivery apps (FDAs) in urban hotels in the wake of the lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, the study aims: To explore and scrutinize the primary shifts in customer behavior and preferences in modern urban hotels, and to explore and scrutinize the primary shifts in customer behavior and preferences in modern urban hotels. Research design, data and methodology: This study conducted a systematic literature review to gather evidence of the FDA's effect on customer behavior and the hospitality industry during the Covid-19 pandemic. Complying with the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) principles guarantees a structured and transparent method to search the literature and its analysis. Results: The result based on the systematic review has indicated that the booming business of food delivery at home companies and changing consumer tastes prove the FDA's growing circuit in the hotel industry, thus demonstrating their ability and power to adapt to changing trends. Conclusions: Therefore, this study concludes that using FDA's platform, future hospitality managers have to focus on agility in operations, innovation, and technology integration to keep up with changing consumer trends and market conditions.

소비자 관점에서 분석한 ICT 기반의 음식배달서비스 관련 특허 등록 현황 (Registered Patents related to Food Delivery Service based on ICT : A Consumer Perspective)

  • Food environment has been going through significant changes with the introduction of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This study was conducted to investigate the current development status of ICT related to food delivery service by analyzing the relevant registered patents according to consumer buying process. Patents registered between 2002 and 2016 were searched with 'food' and 'delivery' as main keywords through Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (www.kipris.or.kr). The search resulted in 624 patents among which 219 patents were related to food delivery service; 108 patents based on ICT were selected and analyzed. The patents were examined by applicant and year. The patents were classified into the six steps of consumer buying process: 'need recognition', 'information search', 'evaluation', 'choice', 'purchase', and 'postpurchase evaluation'. Patents belonging to more than one step were coded to all the corresponding steps. The patents were registered mainly by domestic companies (50.9%) and individuals (35.2%), having shown dramatic increase of registration since 2012. Over 2/3 (67.6%) of the patents were related to the 'purchase' step. About 32% were associated with the 'information search' step. Approximately 18% of the patents were relevant to the 'evaluation' and 'choice' steps, respectively. The numbers of patents related to the 'postpurchase evaluation (13.9%)' and 'need recognition (12.0%)' steps were relatively low. The current ICTs related to food delivery service in Korea were largely associated with service providers' profit generation rather than consumers' benefit. There is still much room for technology development that could contribute to increasing consumers' benefit.

배달음식 이용고객의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 (Analysis of the factors influencing customer satisfaction of delivery food)

  • 배달음식 주문 경험이 있는 20-50대의 성인남녀를 대상으로 배달음식 제품과 서비스의 품질개선방안 마련을 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 설문조사를 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 월1회 이상 배달음식을 주문한 총 574명의 설문을 통계분석했을 때, 배달음식 선택속성에 대한 중요도 평가점수는 '위생상태' (4.72점), '음식의 맛' (4.64점), '배달의 정확성' (4.40점) 순으로 높았고, 만족도 평가점수는 '음식의 맛' (4.32점), '배달의 정확성' (4.26점), '배달 어플의 이용 편리성' (4.21점) 순으로 높았다. 또한, IPA 결과 우선적으로 개선이 필요하다고 평가된 항목은 '배달비', '할인 혜택 제공', '충분한 메뉴 설명', '불만의 신속처리' 였다. 배달음식에 대한 전체적인 만족도 (5점 척도)는 평균 4.01점이었다. 배달음식 만족도 요인에 대한 요인 분석 결과 '배달 플랫폼의 품질', '배달서비스의 품질', '편의성과 다양성', '배달음식의 품질', '건강과 안전'의 5개 요인이 추출되었고, 배달음식에 대한 전체적인 만족도와 배달음식 만족도 요인, 연령, 배달음식 이용 빈도, 1인 1회 평균 구매 가격 간의 상관관계 분석 결과 전체적인 만족도와 배달음식 이용 빈도, 배달음식 만족도 요인 간에 유의적인 정 (+)의 상관관계를 나타냈다(p < 0.01). 배달음식 이용 고객의 전체적인 만족도에 미치는 영향 요인을 살펴보고자 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과 배달음식 만족도 요인 5개 모두 전체적인 만족도에 유의적인 영향을 주는 것으로 분석되었다 (p < 0.001). 따라서 배달음식 이용 고객의 만족도 향상을 위해서는 배달 플랫폼의 품질뿐만 아니라 배달음식의 품질, 배달서비스의 품질, 편의성과 다양성, 건강과 안전 요인에 대해서 지속적인 개선이 필요하다고 판단된다.

지역공동체의식이 공공배달 앱 이용태도와 이용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Impact of Sense of Community on Public Delivery Applications Attitudes and Intentions to Use)

  • 코로나-19를 계기로 비대면 서비스를 선호하는 소비자가 많아지고 배달 앱 이용이 폭발적으로 증가하면서 새로운 배달 문화를 형성하고 있다. 한편, 민간배달 앱의 플랫폼 독점과 중개 수수료 인상 등의 사회적 문제가 등장하자 이를 해결하고자 2020년부터 많은 지자체에서는 공공배달 앱을 출시하고 있다. 그러나, 기존 민간배달 앱 사용에 익숙한 소비자는 거주하는 지역의 공공 배달 앱 존재를 인지하지 못하고 있으며 이용율이 낮은 편이다. 본 연구에서는 지역공동체의식과 서비스 품질(정보품질, 배달품질)이 공공배달 앱 이용 의도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 한다. 연구결과 지역공동체의식과 정보품질은 공공배달 앱 이용태도에 유의한 영향을 주지만 배달품질은 유의한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 공공배달 앱 이용태도는 공공배달 앱 이용의도에 유의한 영향을 주는 동시에 지역공동체의식, 정보품질과 공공배달 앱 이용의도의 관계에서 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 공공배달 앱 활성화를 위해서는 홍보와 마케팅뿐만 아니라 지역공동체의식 강화 노력과 함께 정보품질 향상을 위한 상품 검색, 사용자 리뷰 조회 등 사용자 편의성 개선을 위한 노력도 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

앱인벤터를 이용한 물리치료 어플리케이션 개발 -원격 물리치료 구현을 위한 사전연구- (Physical Therapy Application Development Using the App Inventor -Preliminary Research for the Realization of Tele-Physical Therapy-)

  • Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how healthcare is delivered worldwide and has affected the environment of the healthcare. Physical therapy in traditional healthcare systems can be difficult in unusual circumstances, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Tele-physical therapy, defined as "the delivery of the physical therapy at a distance using electronic information and telecommunication technologies," will be a solution for this healthcare crisis. Thus, in this study, we proposed a mobile application for tele-physical therapy. Methods: This study used the Chrome Browser version 83.0.4 based on the Windows 10 64Bit operating system to use the App Inventor. To operate the mobile application, we used the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The design of the mobile application was based on the review of a system used in the physical therapy department. Results: The graphical user interface (GUI) of the mobile application was displayed on three screens: selecting a painful joint (1st screen of the GUI); selecting a painful movement of the joint (2nd screen of the GUI); a self-manual therapy method and movie (3rd screen of the GUI). The proposed mobile application showed the stable repeatability of the self-manual therapy movie. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrated that the proposed mobile application using the App Inventor for android will be able to create easy to use and reliable tele-physical therapy.

구강건강 관련 스마트폰 애플리케이션 분석 (Analysis of oral health-related smartphone applications)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the current status of oral health applications developed for smartphones because they can be used as a new educational medium to manage and improve oral health. Methods: This study examined 60 basic oral health applications provided by Google Play Store and Apple App Store as of May 2019 and examined delivery contents, delivery methods, application types, and other information. Results: Apple included 65.4% of oral apps in the game category whereas Android included 64.3% in the education category (p>0.05). All Apple's apps and 71.4% of Android apps were developed overseas (p<0.01). The delivery contents were 61.5% for Brushing + tooth decay in Apple, and 78.6% for others (oral care products and gum diseases) in Android (p>0.05). For the delivery method, game + video was 65.4% in Apple, and game and other methods (text, image, augmented reality) was 42.9% in Android (p>0.05). In the case of application type, play type was the most common with 88.5% in Apple, and 46.4% play type and 39.3% other type (text, appreciation, problem-solving types) in Android (p<0.01). In addition, play type was high in both education (53.8%) and game (90.0%) categories (p>0.05). The average review score was 4.30 in the education category, 4.34 in the case of brushing and care (delivery contents), 4.37 in the case of using game + video (delivery methods), and 4.57 in the case of Play + other types (application type) (p>0.05). Conclusions: The use of healthcare apps is expected to increase owing to improved lifestyles, an increase in the elderly population, cost-effectiveness, and convenience that is not affected by time and place. Effective use of oral health apps will require the participation of dental professionals in the development process to identify the exact status, expand subjects, and provide appropriate information.

공공플랫폼 구축사업의 거버넌스: 경기도 배달플랫폼 '배달특급'의 사례를 중심으로 (Governance of A Public Platform Project in the Context of Digital Transformation Focusing on the 'Special Delivery')

  • Recently, government agencies are actively adopting the platform model as a means of public policy. However, existing studies on the public platform are minimal and have focused on user experiences or the possibility of public usage of the platform model. Now the research concerning building governance structure and utilizing network effects of the platform after adopting the platform model in the public sector is keenly required. This study intended to ignite academic dialogue on the governance of public platforms in the context of digital transformation. This study focused on a case of the 'Special delivery,' a public delivery app established by Gyeonggi-do. In order to analyze the characteristics of the public platform and its governance structure, data were collected from press releases, policy reports, and news articles. Data was analyzed using the frame of Hagui's platform design factors and Ansell & Gash's collaborative governance model. The results of the public platform analyses showed 1) incompleteness in the value trade-off accounting, which was designed for platform business based on general cost-benefit analysis, and 2) a closed governance structure that limits direct participation of diverse user groups(i.e., service provider, customer) in order to enhance providers' utility by preventing customers' excessive online activities. The results of this study provided theoretical and policy implications regarding designing the strategy for accounting for value trade-offs and functioning governance structure for public platforms.

치킨 리뷰의 이면: 텍스트 마이닝을 통한 리뷰의 탐색적 분석을 중심으로 (BEHIND CHICKEN RATINGS: An Exploratory Analysis of Yogiyo Reviews Through Text Mining)

  • 코로나 19의 영향으로 배달앱 시장이 빠르게 성장하며, 리뷰와 평점이 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 그러나 급격하게 늘어난 리뷰와 평점의 신뢰도에 의문이 제기되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 리뷰와 평점을 탐색적으로 분석하여 배달앱 리뷰의 신뢰도와 유용성을 파악하고, 이를 높일 방법을 탐구하였다. 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 사용하여 도출한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 요기요와 네이버 지도, 구글 지도의 음식점 평점을 분석한 결과, 요기요는 가장 우편향된 평점 분포를 보여주었다. 둘째, 요기요의 세부 평점 요인(맛, 양, 배달)간에는 모두 강한 양의 상관관계가 있었고, 이는 부정 리뷰의 단어 분석에서도 드러났다. 셋째, 리뷰의 극성에 따라 사용되는 품사와 형태소의 비율이 달랐다. 넷째, 전체 리뷰 데이터에서 367개의 부정어를 선별한 후, 이를 분류하여 치킨 전용 부정어 사전을 제작하였다. 본 연구는 치킨 리뷰의 탐색적 분석을 통해 앞으로 배달앱 리뷰에 대한 연구가 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하였다.

실험적 외상성 뇌손상모델에서 외상 후 저체온법의 효과 - TUNEL과 β-APP Immunohistochemical Stain - (Effects of Posttraumatic Hypothermia in an Animal Model of Traumatic Brain Injury(TBI) - Immunohistochemical Stain by TUNEL & β-APP -)

  • Objective : Many investigators have demonstrated the protective effects of hypothermia following traumatic brain injury(TBI) in both animals and humans. It has long been recognized that mild to moderate hypothermia improves neurologic outcomes as well as reduces histologic and biochemical sequelae after TBI. In this study, two immunohistochemical staining using terminal deoxynucleotidyl-transferase-mediated biotin dUTP nick end labeling(TUNEL), staining of apoptosis, and ${\beta}$-amyloid precursor protein(${\beta}$-APP), a marker of axonal injury, were done and the authors evaluated the protective effects of hypothermia on axonal and neuronal injury after TBI in rats. Material and Method : The animals were prepared for the delivery of impact-acceleration brain injury as described by Marmarou and colleagues. TBI is achieved by allowing of a weight drop of 450gm, 1 m height to fall onto a metallic disc fixed on the intact skull of the rats. Fourty Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 400 to 450g were subjected to experimental TBI induced by an impact-acceleration device. Twenty rats were subjected to hypothermia after injury, with their rectal temperatures maintained at $32^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. After this 1-hour period of hypothermia, rewarming to normothermic levels was accomplished over 30-minute period. Following 12 hours, 24 hours, 1 week and 2 weeks later the animals were killed and semiserial sagittal sections of the brain were reacted for visualization of the apoptosis and ${\beta}$-APP. Results : The density of ${\beta}$-APP marked damaged axons within the corticospinal tract at the pontomedullary junction and apoptotic cells at the contused cerebral cortex were calculated for each animal. In comparison with the untreated controls, a significant reduction in ${\beta}$-APP marked damaged axonal density and apoptotic cells were found in all hypothermic animals(p<0.05). Conclusion : This study shows that the posttraumatic hypothermia result in substantial protection in TBI, at least in terms of the injured axons and neurons.

국내 배달음식 이용건수 분석 및 예측 (A Study on the Number of Domestic Food Delivery Services)

  • 우리나라는 세계적으로 배달음식 문화가 가장 많이 발달한 나라 중에 하나로 최근에는 일인가구의 증가와 배달앱 시장의 발달과 함께 그 성장 속도 또한 눈부시게 증가하고 있다. 따라서 배달음식 이용에 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되는 날씨와 날짜별 변수를 고려하여 시간대별 배달음식 이용건수를 예측함으로써 소비자와 생산자 모두에게 이익을 주는 예측모형을 찾고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 다양한 데이터마이닝 기법을 이용하여 2014년도 배달음식 통화건수를 예측하는데 있다. 예측에 사용되는 회귀 모형은 선형회귀모형, 랜덤 포레스트, 그래디언트 부스팅, 서포트 벡터 기계, 신경망, 로지스틱 회귀모형으로 총 6가지이다. 고려되는 배달음식 업종은 총 4가지(족발/보쌈정식, 중국음식, 치킨, 피자)로 크게 두 가지 방법을 이용하여 각 업종별 배달음식 이용건수를 예측하였다. 첫 번째 방법은 총 이용건수와 각 업종별 배달음식 이용비율을 곱하여 각 업종별 배달음식 이용건수를 예측하는 것이고, 두 번째 방법은 각 업종별 모형을 세워 각 업종별 배달음식 이용건수를 예측하는 방법이다. 최종적으로 선택된 모형은 방법 1에서는 신경망 모형과 선형회귀모형이며, 방법 2에서는 신경망 모형이었다. 방법 2보다는 방법 1로 구한 결과가 더 예측력이 좋은 것으로 나타났다.
