  • 멀티미디어 서버 시스템은 고용량이어야 하며 지속적으로 늘어나는 사용자수 뿐만 아니라 추가되는 새로운 저장 공간에 대한 우수한 확장성을 제공하여야 하는 것이 필수적이다. 일반적인 스트리밍 서비스의 경우, 사용자들은 시비스 초기의 지연시간에 어느 정도 관대한 편이지만 고풍질의 서비스를 요구한다. 스트림 서버는 동영상을 사용자에게 전달할 때 데이터 저장공간으로부터 실시간으로 전송하여야 한다. 그러나 현재의 범용 서버 시스템은 이러한 요구사항을 충분히 반영하지 못할 뿐만 이니라 늘어나는 사용자 부하와 시스템 요구에 대한 고려, 그리고 미디어 데이터에 대한 반영이 이루어지지 못하여 점차 증가되는 사용자의 고화질 미디어 서비스 요구 사항을 충족시키지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 리녹스를 기반으로 구현한 실시간 스트림 서버 시스템의 확장성 있는 구조가 고 대역폭 고화질 On-Demand 서버로서 효율적인 대안임을 보이며, 또한 QoS 요구 보장과 효율적인 시스템 관리 정책을 제시하여 범용 서버를 멀티미디어 저장 및 스트리밍에 적합한 환경의 클러스터로 구성하는 방법을 제시한다. 이 시스템의 특징은 서비스하고자 하는 파일들을 각 병별 저장 시스템에 쪼개어 저장하는 시스템 RAID 기술을 사 용하여 사용자 요구시 동시에 데이터를 전송하여 줌으로써 단일 미디어 서버보다 훨씬 우수한 성공을 발휘한다.

  • 오늘날 매우 복잡한 비디오와 방송 작동들 속에서, 방송사들은 확실히 방송중이나 온라인에서 멀티스크린 시청자들에게 높은 품질과 저지연을 방송하는데 거듭 어려움을 겪는다. 적응 비트율(ABR) 프로토콜들은 인터넷비디오가 다양한 멀티스크린 장치를 가능하게 해준다. 하지만 비디오 품질은 종종 중요하지 않고 오늘날 대형화면에 방송되고 가치 있는 선형 방송 컨텐츠에서는 받아들일 수 없다는 것이 입증될 것이다. ABR에서 미디어 정보 처리 기술은 서비스 제공자들이 제어를하고 집에 모든 스크린에 선형 비디오 서비스가 관리된 품질을 제공한다. 그리고 그것은 단일화된 IP 비디오 사회기반시설을 가진 큰 대형화면을 포함한다. 새로운 멀티스크린 보조 ABR (MSA-ABR)은 기부 컨텐츠, 가상 속에 온라인 출판 서비스, 집중 클라우드 사회기반시설의 절차를 수행하는 방송시설을 대한 멀티스크린 보조 ABR (MSA-ABR)을 기반으로하는 클라우드를 사용하도록 제안된 관리시스템을 가져다 준다.

충북지역 취약계층 아동을 위한 가정배달 반찬도시락의 섭취현황 및 만족도 (Intakes and Satisfaction of Home-delivered Meal Box for Children from Low-income Families in Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea)

  • The aims of this study were to investigate usage status, menu preference, quality evaluation and satisfaction of home-delivered meal box for children from low-income families in Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea. A total of 320 children and their guardians who had received home-delivered meal boxes participated in 2015. A total of respondents (62.2%) were children and teenagers, and 37.8% were guardians. The 47.7% of children and 43.8% of guardians were using the home delivery service more than one year. Most of the children and guardians answered 'eat almost', 'eat all meals' served meal box, 75.3%, 81.8%, respectively. After receiving the meal box at home, 35.2% of children consumed meals within 1~2 hours, whereas 32.8% of the guardians were ate within 2~6 hours. It was founded that 'throw away leftovers' was the highest and followed 'give it others' in a way to treat leftovers. The results of preference survey on meats, seafood, showed that 'chicken nugget' (4.07) and 'stir-fried fish cake with vegetable' (3.63) were the highest points for children, whereas 'grilled LA beef ribs' (3.98) and 'stir-fried anchovies' (3.72) were the highest point for guardians. 'Seasoned leaves marinated in soy sauce' was the highest preference among vegetables and another dish for respondents. Frozen products were the most preferred types of meal boxes on the menu. In the quality evaluation of home-delivered meal box, although satisfaction with service and packaging of the meal box were high, the satisfaction of food quality was relatively low.

이태리 레스토랑의 실내공간과 음식서비스 품질에 대한 고객과 종사자의 인식차이 분석 (An Analysis of Perception Gap on the Interior Space and Foodservice Quality of Italian Restaurants between Customers and Personnel)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 이태리 레스토랑에서 음식서비스 전달자인 종사자와 고객을 대상으로 실내공간과 음식서비스 품질에 대한 인식의 괴리(gap)를 분석하여 고객 만족을 위한 음식서비스 전달에서의 문제점과 종사자의 인식 전환 필요성을 규명하고자 하였다. 또한, 실내공간과 음식 서비스 품질 향상을 위하여 레스토랑에서 서비스 품질인식과 고객 만족도를 연구하고자 하였다. 연구 결과 종사자의 점수(3.79점/5점)가 고객의 점수(3.78)보가 약간 높게 평가되었다. 특히 16개의 고객의 속성 중 '레스토랑 전체 조명', '음식재료의 신선도', '음식의 창의성' 등이 직원의 점수보가 유의적으로 낮게 평가되었다. 종사자와 고객 모두가 4개의 속성 중에서 '음식의 품질'을 가장 높게, '테이블 세팅'을 가장 낮게 인식했다. 격자도 분석 결과, 'Q3. 음식을 담은 그릇', 'Q6. 테이블 전체의 청결도', 'Q12. 음식의 배치도', 'Q17. 실내공간의 쾌적성', 'Q18. 실내공간의 온도', 'Q23. 레스토랑 전체 조명', 'Q30. 가구 및 액세서리 장식'이 Quadrant A 영역에는 포함되었는데, 이는 종사자의 인식도가 고객의 인식도 보다 낮아 고객들의 불만족하는 속성들이다. 따라서 이종사자들이 전달하고 있다고 인지하고 있는 서비스 수준이 고객과 괴리가 있음을 깨닫고 서비스 품질 개선에 있어 우선순위를 부여하여야 한다.

원격의료서비스 수용요인의 구조적 관계 실증연구 (Structural Relationships Among Factors to Adoption of Telehealth Service)

  • Within the traditional medical delivery system, patients residing in medically vulnerable areas, those with body movement difficulties, and nursing facility residents have had limited access to good healthcare services. However, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) provides us with a convenient and useful means of overcoming distance and time constraints. ICT is integrated with biomedical science and technology in a way that offers a new high-quality medical service. As a result, rapid technological advancement is expected to play a pivotal role bringing about innovation in a wide range of medical service areas, such as medical management, testing, diagnosis, and treatment; offering new and improved healthcare services; and effecting dramatic changes in current medical services. The increase in aging population and chronic diseases has caused an increase in medical expenses. In response to the increasing demand for efficient healthcare services, a telehealth service based on ICT is being emphasized on a global level. Telehealth services have been implemented especially in pilot projects and system development and technological research. With the service about to be implemented in earnest, it is necessary to study its overall acceptance by consumers, which is expected to contribute to the development and activation of a variety of services. In this sense, the study aims at positively examining the structural relationship among the acceptance factors for telehealth services based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Data were collected by showing audiovisual material on telehealth services to online panels and requesting them to respond to a structured questionnaire sheet, which is known as the information acceleration method. Among the 1,165 adult respondents, 608 valid samples were finally chosen, while the remaining were excluded because of incomplete answers or allotted time overrun. In order to test the reliability and validity of the assessment scale items, we carried out reliability and factor analyses, and in order to explore the causal relation among potential variables, we conducted a structural equation modeling analysis using AMOS 7.0 and SPSS 17.0. The research outcomes are as follows. First, service quality, innovativeness of medical technology, and social influence were shown to affect perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of the telehealth service, which was statistically significant, and the two factors had a positive impact on willingness to accept the telehealth service. In addition, social influence had a direct, significant effect on intention to use, which is paralleled by the TAM used in previous research on technology acceptance. This shows that the research model proposed in the study effectively explains the acceptance of the telehealth service. Second, the research model reveals that information privacy concerns had a insignificant impact on perceived ease of use of the telehealth service. From this, it can be gathered that the concerns over information protection and security are reduced further due to advancements in information technology compared to the initial period in the information technology industry, and thus the improvement in quality of medical services appeared to ensure that information privacy concerns did not act as a prohibiting factor in the acceptance of the telehealth service. Thus, if other factors have an enormous impact on ease of use and usefulness, concerns over these results in the initial period of technology acceptance may become irrelevant. However, it is clear that users' information privacy concerns, as other studies have revealed, is a major factor affecting technology acceptance. Thus, caution must be exercised while interpreting the result, and further study is required on the issue. Numerous information technologies with outstanding performance and innovativeness often attract few consumers. A revised bill for those urgently in need of telehealth services is about to be approved in the national assembly. As telemedicine is implemented between doctors and patients, a wide range of systems that will improve the quality of healthcare services will be designed. In this sense, the study on the consumer acceptance of telehealth services is meaningful and offers strong academic evidence. Based on the implications, it can be expected to contribute to the activation of telehealth services. Further study is needed to assess the acceptance factors for telehealth services, such as motivation to remain healthy, health care involvement, knowledge on health, and control of health-related behavior, in order to develop unique services according to the categorization of customers based on health factors. In addition, further study may focus on various theoretical cognitive behavior models other than the TAM, such as the health belief model.

  • Presented is a Genetic Algorithm(GA) for dynamic partitioning an ATM LANE(LAN Emulation) network. LANE proves to be one of the best solutions to provide guaranteed Quality of Service(QoS) for mid-size campus or enterprise networks with a little modification of legacy LAN facilities. However, there are few researches on the efficient LANE network operations to deal with scalability issues arising from broadcast traffic delivery. To cope with this scalability issue, proposed is a decision model named LANE Partitioning Problem(LPP) which aims at partitioning the entire LANE network into multiple Emulated LANs(ELANs), each of which works as an independent virtual LAN.

Soft-State Bandwidth Reservation Mechanism for Slotted Optical Burst Switching Networks

  • This paper proposes a novel transport network architecture for the next generation network (NGN) based on the optical burst switching technology. The proposed architecture aims to provide efficient delivery of various types of network traffic by satisfying their quality-of-service constraints. To this end, we have developed a soft-state bandwidth reservation mechanism, which enables NGN transport nodes to dynamically reserve bandwidth needed for active data burst flows. The performance of the proposed mechanism is evaluated by means of numerical analysis and NS2 simulation. Our results show that the packet delay is kept within the constraint for each traffic flow and the burst loss rate is remarkably improved.

Exploring drivers of the service quality in e-commerce

  • 전자상거래에서 핵심적인 연구질문 중의 하나는 서비스품질에 영향을 주는 핵심 driver가 무엇인가를 이해하는 것이다. 이 연구에서는 인터넷 쇼핑몰의 관리기능 변수를 파악하고 그것이 서비스품질의 4개의 각 세부요소에 어떻게 영향을 끼치는가를 조사한다. 본 연구에서는 기존문헌을 토대로 서비스품질의 각 세부요소에 영향을 미치는 7개의 선행변수를 도출하였다:배달(delivery), 제품반품(reverse logistics), 불만처리(claim resolving), 추천(recommendation), 고객맞춤화(customization), 상호작용성(interactivity), 접촉(contact). 실증적 테스트결과 이 선행변수들은 모두 서비스품질의 각 세부요소에 유의한 결과를 나타냈으며 이는 어떻게 서비스품질의 수준이 관리될수 있는지에 대한 이해를 돕는데 도움을 줄 것이다.

Request Deduplication Scheme in Cache-Enabled 5G Network Using PON

  • With the advent of the 5G era, the rapid growth in demand for mobile content services has increased the need for additional backhaul investment. To meet this demand, employing a content delivery network (CDN) and optical access solution near the last mile has become essential for the configuration of 5G networks. In this paper, a cache-enabled architecture using the passive optical network (PON) is presented to serve video on demand (VoD) for users. For efficient use of mobile backhaul, I propose a request deduplication scheme (RDS) that can provide all the requested services missed in cache with minimum bandwidth by eliminating duplicate requests for movies within tolerable range of the quality of service (QoS). The performance of the proposed architecture is compared with and without RDS in terms of the number of requests arriving at the origin server (OS), hit ratio, and improvement ratio according to user requests and cache sizes.

QoS-aware Cross Layer Handover Scheme for High-Speed vehicles

  • High-Speed vehicles can be considered as multiple mobile nodes that move together in a large-scale mobile network. High-speed makes the time allowed for a mobile node to complete a handover procedure shorter and more frequently. Hence, several protocols are used to manage the mobility of mobile nodes such as Network Mobility (NEMO). However, there are still some problems such as high handover latency and packet loss. So efficient handover management is needed to meet Quality of Service (QoS) requirements for real-time applications. This paper utilizes the cross-layer seamless handover technique for network mobility presented in cellular networks. It extends this technique to propose QoS-aware NEMO protocol which considers QoS requirements for real-time applications. A novel analytical framework is developed to compare the performance of the proposed protocol with basic NEMO using cost functions for realistic city mobility model. The numerical results show that QoS-aware NEMO protocol improves the performance in terms of handover latency, packet delivery cost, location update cost, and total cost.
