Background: This study aimed to investigate the effect of hold-relax and antagonist contraction (HR-AC) technique and Kinesio taping on pain changes in delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) of 20's adults. Methods: Based on voluntary participation, 14 participants with induced-DOMS were randomly divided into control (non-treatment, n=7) and experiment group (HR-AC technique and kinesio taping, n=7). Measurement were used visual analogue scale (VAS), heart rate variability (HRV), and brain wave (alpha). There were 5 sets of the HR-AC technique application on the 5th day from the day of DOMS induction (rest for 30s between sets). Kinesio taping was applied to the same area after HR-AC. Results: The VAS showed significant changes according to the period and in the interaction between the period and the group (p<.01). HRV and alpha wave (Fp1) showed significant changes according to the period (p<.001). The analgesic effect was more rapid and continuous in the experimental group than in the control group. Conclusion: This study showed that the HR-AC technique and Kinesio taping are effective interventions for the management of pain and stress caused by DOMS.

Experimental studies were done to research the dinical effects of Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL 13) on the anti-allergic response. anaphylaxis provoked by the compound 48/80, delayed type hypersensitivity response to picryl chloride and SASC and inflammation response to egg albumin. The following results have been obtained: Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13) group were increased the survival rate in compound48/80 induced systemic anaphylactic reaction. Picryl chloride induced contact dermatitis and delayed type hypersensitivity in SRBC challenged mouse were significantly decreased in Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture (BL13) group. Inflammation response - WBC, CRP and Nitric Oxide in egg albumin induced allergic rat were significantly decreased in Juglandis Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13) group. According to the above results, Semen aqua-acupuncture and acupuncture(BL13) both depress the allergy reaction.

This paper considers the problem of robust stability for uncertain discrete-time interval time-varying delayed descriptor systems using any combinations of quantization and overflow nonlinearities. First, delay-dependent linear matrix inequality (LMI) condition for discrete-time descriptor systems with time-varying delay and quantization/overflow nonlinearities is presented by proper Lyapunov function. Second, it is shown that the obtained condition can be extended into descriptor systems with uncertainties such as norm-bounded parameter uncertainties and polytopic uncertainties by some useful lemmas. The proposed results can be applied to both descriptor systems and non-descriptor systems. Finally, numerical examples are shown to illustrate the effectiveness and less conservativeness.

The effect of applied stress, current density and heat-treatment after welding on the time to fracture, fracture behavior was investigated by the method of constant load tensile testing under catholic charging with hydrogen in E.B. welded 250,300 Grade 18% Ni Maraging steel sheet. The main results obtained are as follows: 1. All specimen showed the characteristic delayed failure and the time to fracture showed decreasing tendency with the increase in current density and applied stress. 2. Hydrogen embitterment susceptibility of notched specimen after solution-treatment and aging after welding was more increased than that of aged smooth specimen and as welded specimen. 3. Fracture surface showed a typical intergranular fracture on the border, a dimple pattern in the center of specimen and some quasi-cleavage fracture between the intergranular and the dimple.

Phenylpropanoids(PP), C6-C3 compounds, are widely distributed in many plants. In this experiments, effect of PP on sheep red bood cells (sRBC)-induced delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) were studied in ICR male mice. SRBC were challenged by i.p. injection at two weeks after sensitization of Lp. injection of sRBC. Five days after the challenge of antigen, paw edema induced 24 hours after the last challenge by DTH, respectively. (omitted)

In this paper, a robust controller of state delayed systems is presented. The suggested controller stabilizes the closed loop system independently of the delay time. It is shown that the controller reduces the effect of disturbances on the output of the given system to a pre-specified level. The proposed controller will stabilize the closed loop system in the presence of plant perturbations whose size are less than a pre-specified value.

For the state feedback controller which measures only partial state variables, a state observer can be used to give the estimates of unmeasurable states. In this paper, the delayed state feedback method instead of the state observer for desingning a tracking controller of electro-hydraulic control system is presented. The controller design is based on augmenting the original system by one additional integral and proportional element which compensates for the effect of the integral control and on feeding back the measurable state variables and their delayed values. The performance of the proposed position control system is compared with both that of the full state feedback control system and that of the digital PID control system tuned by the Ziegler-Nichols method and by the parameter readjustment through the computer simulation. And then robustness against unmeasurable constant disturbace and parameter variations during operations is also checked.

The immunosuppressive effect of serum from mice heavily infected with BCG(BCG-serum) was evaluated. The delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction to sheep erythrocytes was depressed when BCG-serum was administered both systemically and locally at the same time of challenge. This study shows that serum of animal infected with mycobacteria contains a factor responsible for immunosuppression and factor may be important in understanding the mechanisms of allergy in mycobacteria] infections.

This paper presents findings on the second-order sliding-mode controller for a nuclear research reactor. Sliding-mode controllers for nuclear reactors have been used for some time, but higher-order sliding-mode controllers have the added advantage of reduced chattering. The nonlinear model of Pakistan Research Reactor-1 has been used for higherorder sliding-mode controller design and performance evaluation. The reactor core is simulated based on point kinetics equations and one delayed neutron groups. The model assumes feedback from lumped fuel and coolant temperatures. The effect of xenon concentration is also considered. The employed method is easy to implement in practical applications, and the second-order sliding-mode control exhibits the desired dynamic properties during the entire output-tracking process. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller in terms of performance, robustness, and stability.

Footpad swelling having the relationship with arthus-reaction of antibody-mediated hypersensitivity and delayed type hypersensitivity was recovered to the almost normal level. The nethemoglobin induced by aniline showed no significant deviation. PFC/spleen cell and PFC/106 spleen cell were increased slightly, but not in case of RFC. Hemagglutination value was increased slightly, but hemolytic value was not changed significantly. Mice in the administration of the polysaccharide does not show any significant stress factor in the cage for mice admlrustered plasma corticosterone.
