$CO_2$ 용접에서 스패터 발생에 미치는 지연시간 제어의 영향 (Effect of Delay Time Control on the Spatter Generation in $CO_2$ Welding)

  • For the last two decades, waveform control techniques have been successively developed and applied for the inverter welding machines resulting in the substantial reduction of spatter generated in CO₂ welding. One of the constituents commonly involved in those techniques is to delay the instant of current increase to some extent after the initiation of short-circuiting. Although this technique has been known to be quite effective in reducing the spatter generation through the suppression of is instantaneous short circuiting, the delay time necessary for minimum spatter has not been clearly understood. In this study, the control system for varying the delay time was constructed so that the spatter generation rates could be measured over a wide range of delay time, 0.29-2.0 msec. As a result of this study, it was demonstrated that spatter generation rate(SGR) sharply decreased at delay time of 0.6 msec and longer accompanied with the change in characteristics of short circuit mode from the instantaneous short-circuiting(ISC) dominant to normal short-circuiting(NSC) dominant. Another feature that have been found in current waveform of over 0.6msec was the creation of current pulse right after the arc reignition stage. Because of this current pulses weld pool oscillated in wave-like fashion and it looks like to play an important role in developing short circuiting between electrode and weld pool.

바이오항공유의 함량 변화에 따른 점화지연특성 분석 (Analysis on Ignition Delay Time According to the Ratio of Bio-aviation Fuel in Jet A-1 Mixture)

  • 본 연구에서는 석유계항공유와 혼합하여 사용이 가능한 바이오항공유의 혼합 비율에 따른 점화지연 특성의 변화를 확인하기 위하여, 두 항공유를 일정한 비율로 혼합한 시료의 점화지연시간을 측정하여 분석하였다. 측정한 모든 온도 조건에서 Bio-6308의 점화지연시간이 Jet A-1의 점화지연시간보다 짧게 나타났으며, 두 항공유를 일정한 비율로 혼합한 경우에도 Bio-6308의 함량이 증가할수록 점화지연시간은 짧아지는 경향을 보였는데, 이는 Jet A-1을 구성하는 방향족 화합물의 영향 때문임을 n-heptane/Toluene의 점화지연시간 측정을 통해 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, based on an augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional(LKF) with time-delay product quadratic terms, the stability result in the form of linear matrix inequality(LMI) is proposed. In getting an LMI result, the free matrix based integral inequality is used. Finally, two well-known numerical examples are given to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed result.

  • In this paper trajectory tracking control problems are described for a robot manipulator by using pneumatic actuator. Under the assumption that the so-called independent joint control is applied to the control system, the dynamic model for each link is identified as a linear second-order system with input time-delay by the step response. Then, an optimal servo controller is designed by taking account of such a time-delay. The effectiveness of the proposed control method is illustrated through some simulations and experiments for the robot manipulator.

  • This paper proposes a receding horizon predictive control (RHPC) for nonlinear time-delay systems. The control law is obtained by minimizing finite horizon cost with a terminal weighting functional. An inequality condition on the terminal weighting functional is presented, under which the closed-loop stability of RHPC is guaranteed, A special class of nonlinear time-delay systems is introduced and a systematic method to find a terminal weighting functional satisfying the proposed inequality condition is given for these systems. Through a simulation example, it is demonstrated that the proposed RHPC has the guaranteed closed-loop stability for nonlinear time-delay systems.

  • This paper presents a stability condition for Astrom's minimal variance control(MVC) with mismatch of time delay for a SISO ARMAX model containing time delay. The proof of the condition presented here is based on the characteristic equation in the feedback system and its magnitude. This condition, from easy numerical calculation, is able to find the stability of the feedback system without knowing the real time delay.

  • In this paper, though Simith controller is also used, we propose a new system configuration which can be regarded an SISO continuous nth-order plant with time delay of k-times of a sampling period as a linear discrete (n + k)th order plant of which all state variables can be available.   • A stable TSK-type FLC can be designed by the method of Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC), but in this case, solving the LMI problem is not a trivial task. To overcome such a difficulty, a Time-Delay based FLC (TDFLC) is proposed. TSK-type TDFLC consists of Time-Delay Control (TDC) and Sliding Mode Control (SMC) schemes, which result in a robust controller basaed upon an integral sliding surface.

  • In delay-optimized designs, timing failures due to manufacturing delay defects are more likely to occur because the average timing slacks of paths decrease and the system becomes more sensitive to smaller delay defect sizes. In this paper, the impact of delay optimized logic circuits on delay fault testing will be discussed and compared to the case for non-optimized designs. First, we provide a timing optimization procedure and show that the resultant density function of path delays is a delta function. Next we also discuss the impact of timing optimization on the yield of a manufacturing process and the defect level for delay faults. Finally, we will give some recommendations on the determination of the system clock time so that the delay-optimized design will have the same manufacturing yield as the non-optimized design and on the determination of delay fault coverage in the delay-optimized design in order to have the same defect-level for delay faults as the non-optimized design, while the system clock time is the same for both designs.
