A Study on the Relationship between Network Structure of Corporate Communication and Corporate Reputation: Communication Network Analysis (기업 커뮤니케이션의 네트워크 구조와 기업명성간 관련성: 커뮤니케이션 네트워크 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning and the effect of communication as social capital, which needs to be evaluated empirically focusing on corporate reputation. Also, it tried to analyze consumers' communication network in the structural, substantial, and relational level, which is to verify how characteristics and meanings of communication network structure affect to a good corporate reputation. A survey toward 200 participants was conducted during 5 days from March 29 to April 3, 2012. Characteristics of communication network structure of a corporation with higher reputation is analyzed using the index such as degree, degree centrality, and density. The findings of the study show that a corporation with higher reputation has higher network degree, degree centrality, and density compared to a corporation with lower reputation. Consumers of a corporation with higher reputation get information from various overlapping sources. It allows them to share similar interpretation, which could elevate the degree, degree centrality, and density of network. It also proved that when the network density is high, a corporation with higher reputation can distribute information much faster and easier. Moreover, in the substantial level of social capital, product/service information network has high degree and density rather than corporate issue information network. Likewise, degree and density of information acquisition network was higher than those of information provision network. Also, this study verified the effect and relationship between the network structure characteristics and corporate loyalty in a relational level. In this way, the positive effect of the degree centrality on corporate loyalty was supported. In conclusion, as consumers share more information from overlapping sources, the degree of communication network gets higher. Throughout this network, the diffusion of information among consumers would be activated, and this confirmed that corporate reputation and corporate loyalty is closely related.

A Study on Physical Recognition of Men in Their Twenties by Body Shape of the Lower Parts of the Body (20대 남성의 하반신 체형별 신체인식에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study conducted a survey on 356 men in their twenties to investigate their recognition of their bodies. Also physical measurements were conducted on them and the lower parts of the bodies were classified into several types. The study examined the relevance of the subjects' recognition of their bodies to the physical types of the lower parts of the body. The results can be summarized as follows; There are four factors that constitute the physical shapes of the lower parts of the body and the lower parts of the body are classified into three physical types by cluster analysis. In terms of the degree of recognition of lower parts of the body shapes, the respondents' recognition of their bodies was similar to the actual measurements except for heights and leg lengths regardless of physical types, showing that they recognized well their actual physical types. With respect to the degree of satisfaction with body types, the surveyed were dissatisfied with thick circumference items and short length items. The actual measurements and the degree of recognition showed significant correlations in almost all the items while the actual measurements and the degree of satisfaction showed significant negative correlation in the circumference items. The degree of satisfaction with heights showed significant correlations with almost all measurements, demonstrating that the degree of satisfaction of the males in their twenties with the lower pats of body has closer correlations with the height items of the actual measurements that the circumference items. The degree of satisfaction with bodies was more dependent on people's recognition than the actual measurements.

Factors Associated with the Degree of Quality Improvement Implementation (국내 의료기관의 질 향상 사업의 활성화에 영향을 미치는 요인 - 조직동인적 관점에서)

  • Objectives : To assess the degree of quality improvement (QI) implementation and to identify its associated factors. Methods : A mailed questionnaire survey of the QI staffs at hospitals with 400 beds or more was conducted between September 15 and October 30, 2000. Of the 108 hospitals eligible for inclusion in our study, 79 participated, yielding a response rate of 73.1%. After excluding 12 hospitals that did not perform any QI activities, 117 responses from 67 hospitals were used in our analysis. The degree of QI implementation was measured using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Criteria (MBNQAC). Factors evaluated for association with the degree of QI implementation were cultural, technical, strategic, and structural factors of the hospitals. Results : The average 01 implementation score across the 7 dimensions of MBNQAC was 3.34 on a 5-point scale, with the highest score for the area of customer satisfaction (3.88) followed by information and analysis (3.59) and quality management (3.35). The results of regression analysis showed that hospitals with a ofter information system (p<0.05) and using scientific and systematic problem solving approach (p<0.01) tended to perform a higher degree of QI implementation. While statistically insignificant, positive associations were observed for the factors of group or developmental culture, the degree of employee empowerment, and the use of prospective strategy. Conclusions : It appears that the most important factors contributing to active implementation of QI in Korean hospitals were the use of scientific skills in decision making, and having a quality information system to produce precise and valid information.

Accelerated second-degree bachelor of science in nursing program in South Korea: Current status and future directions (국내 간호대학(학과)의 학사 편입학 과정의 현황과 발전 전략)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe characteristics of colleges implementing the accelerated second-degree bachelor of science in nursing program in South Korea and provide insight into strategies to improve the program outcomes. Methods: An on-line questionnaire developed for this study was emailed to deans of nursing colleges who were members of the Korean Association of College of Nursing. Questions included items related to nursing college, students, curriculum, and anticipated difficulty in relation to an increase of the number of second-degree students. Results: Out of 117 nursing schools, 33 schools (28.2%) participated in the on-line survey. The actual number of second-degree students and their ratio (about 10%) to regular students significantly increased in 2019. Male students were enrolled nearly twice as many times as regular students. Among the anticipated difficulties, clinical practice institutions (3.94) and clinical practice instructors (3.73) showed relatively higher scores than other difficulties such as teaching (3.58) and education facilities (3.30). Conclusion: In order to improve the quality of nursing education for second-degree students, more nursing faculties and innovative clinical practice support systems are needed. Future study is warranted to investigate the educational experience of second-degree students and graduates.

Smartphone Addiction and Learning disorder, Depression, ADHD association (스마트폰 중독 정도와 학습장애, 우울증 및 주의력결핍장애 연관성)

  • The objective of this study was to examine the correlations between smart phone addictions (SPA) and learning disorder (LD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and depression of post secondary level students, who were believed to have decent degree of self-commands. The correlation between the degree of smart phone addiction and learning disorder was 46 (p<0.001) and the correlation between the degree of smart phone addiction and ADHD was 48 (p<0.001). Meanwhile, the correlation between learning disorder and ADHD was 64 (p<0.001). From the multiple comparison of learning disorders, bothe the learning disorder and the ADHD of a group with lower degree of smart phone addiction showed mean differences that were more statistically significant than those of a group with higher degree of smart phone addiction. The depression of a group with lower degree of smart phone addition was also more statistically significant than that of a group with higher degree of smart phone addiction.

Degree-of-Association Judgments of Fragrances with Color Hues and Tones (색상과 톤에 의한 향 연상 강도 평가)

  • Color, an important visual cue, can cross-modally affect odor association and odor quality identification Here, this research investigates aspects of the cross-modal associations between color and fragrance in greater depth, delving into the topic of whether the degree-of-association of fragrances with hue and tone of colors varies systematically. For 33 color stimuli (10 hues, 3 tones, and 3 achromatic colors), 67 subjects judged the degree-of-association of four typical fragrance families (fresh, floral, oriental, and woody) on a 7-point scale. The statistical analysis showed that fragrance associations of the all families had characteristic distributions across ten hues of the color stimuli. The cross-modal relationship between color tone (especially, lightness attribute) and fragrance association appeared to be dimensional (e.g. a positive linear relationship between the floral family and the lightness). More specifically, as colors became warmer and brighter, the associated floral scents were stronger, while the woody scents was less associated. Brighter or more vivid cool colors were associated with stronger fresh scents. These findings confirm the systematic existence of synthetic interactions between vision and olfaction in perfumery.

Relationships among Sports Participation Degree, Sports Competence, and Social Support for Middle School Students (중학생의 스포츠 참가 정도와 스포츠 유능감 및 사회적 지지의 관계)

  • The research focus on participation degree and competence in sports and their social support. Moreover, it focus on how the sports participation degree and sports competence affect social support. For the research, 414 middle school students were collected and the t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and the multiple regression analysis was carried on. As a result, boys participated in sports more than girls, but girls show more positive effect on social support from friends than boys. According to grade, the sophomores participated in sports highly, and juniors stronger than sophomores, seniors in case of sports competence and social support from teachers. Scholastic achievements show positive effects on all social support, Income show positive effects on participation frequency, sports competence and social support from friends. Secondly, sports participation degree did not affect the social support directly but affect indirectly through sports competence.
