  • In this paper, we proposed new outworn aircraft management procedure. ROKAF has both good management skill and information system, AMMIS, regarding aircraft maintenance based on all kinds of aircraft's defects. To optimize and secure aircraft's operation, management of the outworn aircraft is very important for ROKAF. With respect to these outworn aircraft's defects and maintenance, we analyzed defects occurrence pattern of outworn aircraft by using AMMIS data and Market Basket Analysis, and found the specified association rules for each defect. By using these association rules, we developed new management procedure for outworn aircraft based on the results of affinity analysis. The management procedure in this paper will also be used to optimal operation and maintenance of other aircraft and weapon systems.

  • IEEE 802.16 standard(WiMAX) is one of 3.5G/4G wireless technologies and there are many systems based on the standard. Each frame of the systems begins with a preamble for synchronization and channel estimation, etc. IEEE 802.16 standard defines a total of 114 preamble sequences. By the way there are some systems(such as mobile multi-hop relay) that require using more than 114 preamble sequences. So we define 114 additional preamble sequences in this paper. And we evaluate PAPR and cross-correlation performance of them to decide to be usable as a preamble.

  • Recently, telemetry systems are used to test and evaluate of ammunition. When a transmitting signal from a small transmitter mounted inside the ammunition is sent out, the receiving equipments get real-time RF data. This paper relates to the development of a small high-G endurable transmitter and a portable receiving equipment. The system was tested and confirmed 00 km communication range.

  • The wafer carrier is made of PP, PC, PE resin which have excellent heat and chemical resistance and electrical properties. However, particle generation has become a problem due to static electricity generated in the carrier. Some conductive material such as carbon black (CB) and carbon fiber (CF) are added for the purpose of anti-static, however, additional for motility and particle contamination problems due to high carbon content occurs. In this paper, the electrical characteristics and workability are observed and compared by adding low Carbon Nono Tube(CNT) to each PP, PC and PE resin to solve the problem.

  • Naval combat system is total management system integrating a ship and several weapon system functions. For the mission of a ship, naval combat system manages features and constraints of each weapon system. Proper treats of each weapon system's conditions guarantee effective performances of naval combat system. In this paper, the relationship of anti-air weapon system's on board position and self-defence effectiveness against anti-surface missiles is studied

  • In this paper, we proposed a method for eliminating aiming error of unguided anti-tank rocket using improved target tracking. Since predicted fire is necessary to hit moving targets with unguided rockets, a method was proposed to estimate the position and velocity of target using fire control system. However, such a method has a problem that the hit rate may be lowered due to the aiming error of the shooter. In order to solve this problem, we used an image-based target tracking method to correct error caused by the shooter. We also proposed a robust tracking method based on TLD(Tracking Learning Detection) considering characteristics of the FCS(Fire Control System) devices. To verify the performance of our proposed algorithm, we measured the target velocity using GPS and compared it with our estimation. It is proved that our method is robust to shooter's aiming error.

  • The defense industry has become a global industry, and military technology is actively being traded between countries to increase their military capabilities. The Republic of Korea has been ranked one of the top 10 countries for exports of military technology. To maintain competitive advantages in the global defense industry, it is essential to protect key technologies employed by exported weapon systems. Various techniques have been developed for protection of confidential technologies in weapon systems, and the U.S. DoD has been leading the development of the protection techniques. This paper reviews current anti-tampering techniques that prevent leakage of key technology from weapon exportation or pillage. Based on the protection techniques employed by the U.S. DoD Anti-Tamper Executive Agent, this paper suggests novel design methods for protection of confidential technologies. The proposed design methods were tested on an actual weapon system.

  • This paper presents the issue that is predicting the movement of an agent in an enclosed space by using the MDP (Markov Decision Process). Recent researches on the optimal path finding are confined to derive the shortest path with the use of deterministic algorithm such as $A^*$ or Dijkstra. On the other hand, this study focuses in predicting the path that the agent chooses to escape the limited space as time passes, with the stochastic method. The MDP reward structure from GIS (Geographic Information System) data contributed this model to a feasible model. This model has been approved to have the high predictability after applied to the route of previous armed red guerilla.

  • The improvement of the reliability of weapon systems and the reduction of the total life-cycle cost based on the improving of the DT&E system for Company Organized weapon systems research and development are urgently required. The major advanced countries operate test and evaluation centers for military (U.S.), manage a large scale organization of IPT personnel (England) or conduct management of DT&E through a third party organization (France). Based on a survey of experts, an improvement of the DT&E policy in terms of reliability and objectiveness is needed, and management through a third party national defense agency and civilian agency such as the Surion development case is required. In addition, although it appears that efficiency improves when management of DT&E is performed by national defence agencies rather than civilian agencies, it is necessary to proceed by selecting a civilian agency based on competition in the case that it is difficult to select a national defence agency.

  • To increase the anti-oxidation and anti-wear properties of graphite for the propellant-burning environment, SiC, Pt and Al2O3 multi-layer coatings were conducted succesisvely and the optimum condition was researched. The SiC layer was produced by pack cementation and SiC layer in thickness of 30 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ coating was produced after coating for 6 hours. Pt layer was coated by sputtering, and the Al2O3 layer was coated by reactive sputtering. the thickness of Pt layer and Al2O3 layer was less than one-tenth of that of SiC layer. The pack coated specimens and multi-layer coated specimens were made using above conditions and test-fired. The test result showed that the wear rate of SiC layer is approximately 1/10 compared to that of uncoated graphite.
