  • Buildings featuring a transfer structure can be commonly found in metropolitan cities situated in regions of lower seismicity. A transfer structure can be in the form of a rigid plate or an array of deep girders positioned at the podium level of the building to support the tower structure of the building. The anomalous increase in the shear force demand on the tower walls above the podium is a major cause for concern. Design guidance on how to quantify these adverse effects is not available. In this paper a simplified method for quantifying the increase in the shear force demand on the tower walls is presented. In view of the very limited ductile nature of this type of construction the analysis presented herein is based on linear elastic behaviour.

  • Global warming issues due to the $CO_2$(Carbon Dioxide) become increasing since the Industrial Revolution. After the Kyoto protocol at 1997, nations which have the prearranged quota drives their national project for the reduction of $CO_2$. Korean Government start to the related big projects in the view of three concepts which have consist of the $CO_2$ exhaust reduction on land, $CO_2$ capture and $CO_2$ storage. Furthermore, the storage method putting into depleted region underground is accepted by the London Convention while the ocean diluted method discharging the liquid $CO_2$ into the deep ocean using the long pipe which is towed by the surface vessel is underway for the research steps which means that there are many potentials for the R&Ds that need for the breakthrough. In this paper, the role and example of the Computational Fluid Dynamics for the feasibility study of the $CO_2$ ocean sequestration is mentioned.

  • Louis I. Kahn is cleary one of 20th century great architects. The character of his philosophy of architecture can be condensed as simple words; Architectural Essence, because the very nature of his work based on historicity is so fundamental. Some contemporary architects and architectural critics regard it as a symbol of Post-Modern Architecture era expressing relative multiplicity or an expression of Heideggerian existentialism, but others do as the attribute of fundamentalist like absolute Plato's Idea. Comparing the former, studies of the latter theme have been executed superficially and somewhat biasedly for last decades. In the context, this paper attempt to reanalyze Kahn's idea of 'Architectural Essence' with the deep view of Platonist focused on the concept of binary opposition and causality.

  • In the 1980's discuss in the postmodernism and at the 1990's that is globalization. Globalization is the compression of time and space. That is the products of modernism and postmodernism. Global trends are the multiculturalism, localism, tribuism, etc. These trends have a important effect modern fashion. 20th fashion have a modernity -variation, functionalism and popularity, postmodernity-uncertainty, multiculturalism, post structuralism, etc. If Korean fashion have the globality, open to the world other country and culture, deep study of that, and view point of intercultureity. This Study Suggest to achieve globalize of Korean costume. 1. Plon up base on the scholastic study of giobalization. 2. Promote global project of Korean collection. 3. Collect of ethnic, culture, information of fashion America, Europe, etc. and make high up our a sense of disorimination. 4. Manifold studing abroad 5. Strergthening of globalization and ethnic curriculum on Educational course

  • In this paper, we developed a framework to detect and predict insider information leakage by collecting and restoring network traffic. For automated behavior analysis, many meta information and behavior information obtained using network traffic collection are used as machine learning features. By these features, we created and learned behavior model, network model and protocol-specific models. In addition, the ensemble model was developed by digitizing and summing the results of various models. We developed a function to present information leakage candidates and view meta information and behavior information from various perspectives using the visual analysis. This supports to rule-based threat detection and machine learning based threat detection. In the future, we plan to make an ensemble model that applies a regression model to the results of the models, and plan to develop a model with deep learning technology.

  • The performance of a deep water drillship, is investigated with the view of the characteristics of the thrusters and the resistance increasement due to moonpooi. The model tests have been performed to obtain the resistance of two drillships with the moonpooi open and closed including shape changes of moonpool step. To design the DP system, thrust forces of azimuth thrusters have been measured during azimuthing at zero speed condition. Thrusters, azimuthing under the bottom of ship, have the interactions of the other thrusters due to flow changes made by other thrusters, and the existence of ship hull makes the thrust deduction higher than when the thrust operates by itself. The resistance increasement due to the moonpooi is highly dependent on the step height of the moonpool and the draft. It is found that the height of moonpool step can reduce the resistance increasement by moonpool.

  • Electron beam lithography is one of the importnat technologies which can delineate deep submicron patterns. REcently, electron beam lithography is being applied in delineating the critical layers of semiconductor device fabrication. In this paper, we present a development simulation program for electron beam lithography and study the development profiles of resist when resist is exposed by the electron beam. Experimentally, the development parameter of positive and negative resists are measured and the data is applied to input parameter of the simulation program. Also simulation results are compared of the process results in the view of resist profiles. As a result, for PMMA and SAL 601 resist, the trend of simulation to the values of process parameters agree with real process results very well, so that the process results can be predicted by the simulation.

  • The effect of bond strength of longitudinal reinforcing bars on shear strength of reinforced concrete beams is investigated from the view point of arch and truss actions. Stress fields with bond allow us identify possible failure modes including bond failure of a deep beam as well as a slender beam. The slope angle of diagonal compression fields is interpreted as balanced failures of two components involved for shear transfer.

  • In the hope to detect low-surface brightness features (${\mu}_{r^{\prime}}{\sim}27\;mag\;arcsec^{-2}$), we carried out KASI-Yonsei Deep Imaging Survey for Clusters (KYDISC) targeting 14 local clusters at 0.016 < z < 0.145 using Magellan/IMACS telescope and CFHT/MegaCam. Out of 1450 cluster galaxies, 18% of galaxies show the signatures of galaxy mergers. We explore merger-driven changes from various point-of-view. We first examine color-magnitude relations, and find that galaxies related to recent mergers are populated more on blue color than their counterparts. Besides, we find the extremely low frequency of mergers on low-mass red-sequence galaxies, suggesting a migration of red galaxies into the green-valley region through merger-driven star-formation. We also study the mass-size relation of our sample, finding a larger galaxy size in galaxies related to recent mergers. Our results suggest that mergers can simultaneously change properties of galaxies, making outliers on galactic scaling relations.

  • An exoscope, high-definition video telescope operating monitor system to perform microsurgery has recently been proposed an alternative to the operating microscope. It enables surgeons to complete the operation assistance by visualizing magnified images on a display. The strong points of exoscope are the wide field of view and deep focus. It minimized the need for repositioning and refocusing during the procedure. On the other hand, limitation of magnifying object was an emphasizing weak point. The procedures are performed under 2D motion images with a visual perception through dynamic cue and stereoscopically viewing corresponding to the motion parallax. Nevertheless, stereopsis is required to improve hand and eye coordination for high precision works. Consequently novel 3D high-definition operating scopes with various mechanical designs have been developed according to recent high-tech innovations in a digital surgical technology. It will set the stage for the next generation in digital image based neurosurgery.
