Novel Power Bus Design Method for High-Speed Digital Boards (고속 디지털 보드를 위한 새로운 전압 버스 설계 방법)

  • Fast and accurate power bus design (FAPUD) method for multi-layers high-speed digital boards is devised for the power supply network design tool for accurate and precise high speed board. FAPUD is constructed, based on two main algorithms of the PBEC (Path Based Equivalent Circuit) model and the network synthesis method. The PBEC model exploits simple arithmetic expressions of the lumped 1-D circuit model from the electrical parameters of a 2-D power distribution network. The circuit level design based on PBEC is carried with the proposed regional approach. The circuit level design directly calculates and determines the size of on-chip decoupling capacitors, the size and the location of off-chip decoupling capacitors, and the effective inductances of the package power bus. As a design output, a lumped circuit model and a pre-layout of the power bus including a whole decoupling capacitors are obtained after processing FAPUD. In the tuning procedure, the board re-optimization considering simultaneous switching noise (SSN) added by I/O switching can be carried out because the I/O switching effect on a power supply noise can be estimated over the operation frequency range with the lumped circuit model. Furthermore, if a design changes or needs to be tuned, FAPUD can modify design by replacing decoupling capacitors without consuming other design resources. Finally, FAPUD is accurate compared with conventional PEEC-based design tools, and its design time is 10 times faster than that of conventional PEEC-based design tools.

Decoupling Control of 2WS Cars Using Direct Yaw Moment (직접요오모멘트를 이용한 이륜조향차량의 비결합 제어기 설계)

  • There exists a structural limit of 2WS cars that drivers would not like simultaneously to follow the desired path and attenuate moments resulting from disturbances because lateral acceleration and yaw rate are coupled inherently. In order to overcome the limit, the 4WS cars that have rear wheel steering as an additional input have been introduced. But the 4WS cars have disadvantages that much cost is required due to structural alteration, it is difficult to be used to the driving circumstances and tire performances are not efficient in nonlinear or large lateral acceleration ranges. Therefore, it is proposed that, in this paper, a robust controller is easy to apply to 2WS cars by using direct yaw moment, decouples lateral acceleration from yaw motion and is robust against disturbances and uncertainties of system parameters, and thus the proposed control method has the advantages of 4WS cars which can be achieved in 2WS cars.

Current Decoupling Control for the Three-level PWM Rectifier with a Low Switching Frequency

  • Three-level PWM rectifiers applied in medium voltage applications usually operate at low switching frequency to keep the dynamic losses under permitted level. However, low switching frequency brings a heavy cross-coupling between the current components $i_d$ and $i_q$ with a poor dynamic system performance and a harmonic distortion in the grid-connecting current. To overcome these problems, a mathematical model based on complex variables of the three-level voltage source PWM rectifier is firstly established, and the reasons of above issues resulted from low switching frequency have been analyzed using modern control theory. Then, a novel control strategy suitable for the current decoupling control based on the complex variables for $i_d$ and $i_q$ is designed here. The comparisons between this kind of control strategy and the normal PI method have been carried out. MATLAB and experimental results are given in detail.

  • This paper propose a PI controller that maximizes the degree of stability using a stability in a simplified motor model the applies decoupling control. The PI controller gains are directly from the motor parameters, thereby reducing the element of trial and error, and, the Kharitonov equation was used to evaluate the robustness of the gains to changes in the motor parameters. In addition, the system poles are located in the same position, the proposed method can provide a fast response. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified by simulation results.

  • Linear induction motor(LIM) is widely used to drive magnetic levitation train. To drive LIM, different control method compared with conventional rotary type machine is needed. Since vertical force is generated inherently and it effects on the levitation system, vertical force should be kept constant for stable levitation. To keep vertical force constant, slip frequency should be kept constant. Once slip frequency is kept constant, tractive force can be controlled by adjusting motor currents. In this paper, control methods used so far arc analyzed with some experimental results and decoupling control algorithm is proposed to control tractive and vertical force separately. Control algorithm is verified through simulation.

  • A vibration model of powder transfer equipment is developed by the lumped parameter method. A Powder transfer equipment does surging motion, bouncing motion and pitching motion. Motion equation becomes decoupling and removed vibration exciting source about pitching motion, and therefore designers presented the optimum design plan to be able to do adjustment with motion trajectory of powder transfer equipment. That is, way for design to be able to do motion trajectory of powder transfer equipment through change of design element as installation position and direction of motor, driving speed, mass unbalance, stiffness coefficient and installation position of support coil spring is presented. The design results, powder transfer equipment were able to know that fatigue destruction does not occur, and the reason is because maximum stress working on a basket structure is more very than fatigue strength small.

  • A vibrational model of powder transfer equipment based on the lumped parameter method was developed, in which the operating motion consists of surging, bouncing, and pitching. After decoupling the equation of motion, the vibrational excitation source of the pitching motion was removed. So the designers are able to plan the optimum design to adjust the motion trajectory of the powder transfer equipment. That is, a procedure to adjust the motion trajectory of powder transfer equipment by changing design specifications such as the installation position, the direction of the motor, the driving speed, the mass unbalance, the stiffness coefficient, and the installation position of the support spring, is presented in this paper. The powder transfer equipment manufactured according to the results of this study did not suffer fatigue destruction, since the maximum stress on the basket structure was sufficiently small.

High Efficient Control Design for Refrigeration System of a Ship

  • In this paper, we suggest the high efficient control method based on general PI control law to control the refrigeration system of the ship effectively. In the variable speed refrigeration system, the capacity and the superheat are controlled by inverters and electronic expansion valves respectively for saving energy and improving cost performance. Thus, we propose decoupling model to eliminate the interfering at first. Next, we design PI controller to control capacity and superheat independently. Finally the control performance was investigated through some experiments. The experiments results show that the PI control design can obtain good control performance deal with the varied control reference and thermal load.

  • 6상 전동기는 높은 신뢰성과 토크 리플의 저감 등의 성능 이점으로 인해 다양한 산업 분야에서 고려되고 있다. 6상 전동기는 일반적으로 두 3상 권선의 형태로 모델링할 수 있으며, 독립된 두 개의 전류 제어기를 사용하는 경우, 두 3상 권선 간의 상호 간섭 인덕턴스의 영향으로 인하여 불안정해지는 특성이 있다. 안정적인 전동기 구동을 위하여, 비대칭 6상 전동기의 상호 간섭 영향을 최소화하는 전류 제어기가 필요하다. 이를 위해, 본 연구에서는 이산 영역에서의 6상 전동기의 전류 제어 폐루프 응답 특성을 분석하고 비간섭 (Decoupling) 전류 제어기 구조를 제시한다.
