Nowadays consumers have begun to have interest in eco-friendliness, and re-design is being highlighted as a fashion alternative for consumers with interest in ethical consumption. This study established the concept of re-design fashion as a way to practice eco-friendly design and analyzed various re-design fashions with four types. And it also analyzed decorative and structural details being often employed for re-design. This study intends to suggest new alternative fashion in order to develop re-design fashion design that can satisfy both eco-friendliness and practicality. The results of the research are as follows: First, according to the result of analyzing re-design fashion types, they can be divided into the types of developing new products through combination of decorative details, combination of structural details, development of new fabric through fabric reconstruction, and reconstruction to different products. Second, according to the result of examining the details that can be used to develop new re-design fashion products, pleats, shirring, tuck, peplum, or tab's decorative details and neck-line, collars, sleeves, cuffs, or pocket's structural details are utilized often. Third, total seven recycled clothes were used to design three works taking decorative and structural details. Through this, the study suggests re-design fashion products that can solve environmental pollution resulted from wastes of clothes.

This paper looks at perceived images of female university students concerned with various wedding hair coordination including wedding hair styles, veil details and fitting positions and head dresses. Ta design an experimental test of a wedding dress and hair coordination variables, the content analysis of magazines was performed and hair experts were interviewed. 17 stimuli representing the variables of wedding hair coordination were manipulated and included with hair styles(2), veil details(2), veil fitting Positions(2), head dresses(2) and a wedding hat(1). The questionnaire of 445 was carried out and data were statistically processed. As a result, five images of wedding hair coordination were factors loaded, that is, favorable, decorative, smooth, personal and pretty one. Various main and interaction effects were found in images of it regarding to changing hair styles, different veil details and fitting positions and head dresses. favorable images, they affected by interactions between hair styles and veil details, hair styles and veil fitting positions, hair styles and head dresses and between veil details and the fitting positions. For personal images, interactions between veil details and the positions of veil fitting had effects on female students; for smooth images, That is, for hair style, female university students were influenced by favorable and smooth images; for veil details, by decorative and smooth images; for the positions of fitting veil, by decorative and favorable ones Then the researcher examined effects by dual interactions between factors of wedding hair coordination. For decorative images, they were found influenced by interactions between hair styles and veil details and between hair styles and head dresses. For personal ones, interactions between veil details and the fitting positions; for pretty images, interactions between the fitting positions and head dresses. These findings will provide sellers of the wedding dress with the idea of how females to perceive wedding hair coordination according to the variation of it.

Caports is a fusion style which consists of mix and match and various T.P.Os. The expressive features of Caports style have been strengthened by the combination of functional and decorative design. This study aims to divide the images into categories and to study the decorative features of each category. It is classified into five groups according to its images, Healthy & Sexy, Athletic, Romantic, Girlish, Vintage. The following study has assorted the pictures of Caports style into categories and presents decorative design features in each category. Analyzed materials have been collected from fashion magazines, catalogs, and fashion related Internet sites from 2002 to 2006. The dominant feature of caports was sensitive fashionableness as a day wear based on sportswear. This feature was determined by every factor such as materials, structure and details. In other words, the usage of jersey that could give functionalities and elasticity, structure that exhibit one's silhouette and the decorative designs of functional details make it possible to have this kind of peculiar style. Decorative designs shown in sports wear, casual wear and women's wear were all applied in Caports style. They showed a moderate and coherent style rather than one that was richly ornate or magnificent. So, in the mesa trend of "sportism", Caports style could easily fit into the 21st century's consumers' demands for fusion. And this study of decorating methods of each category of Caports style may provide useful data to help develop the products that consumers demand.

The purpose of this study was to develop questions for fashion design development, by applying 7 elements of the scamper to the fashion design elements, and to present a scamper checklist of fashion design elements, and item structures. In this study, the scope of research was limited to clothing design among various fashion products, and among various design development stages. Fashion design development focusing on design sketching, was limited to the research scope. The research method was based on an empirical study that derived scamper questions through FGI (Focus Group Interview), consisting of 5 fashion experts. Fashion design elements applied to development of scamper questions consisted of silhouettes, constructive lines, structural details, decorative details, patterns and textures of fabrics, and item structures, derived by applying these elements to the individual 7 elements of the scamper: substitute, combine, adjust, modify, put to other uses, eliminate, and reverse. Results of the study included 7 questions for substituting, 8 questions for combining, 6 questions for applying, 15 questions for modifying, 4 questions for putting to other uses, 4 questions for eliminating, and 7 questions for reversal. The scamper checklist for fashion design elements and item structures drew to 5 lists of silhouette variations, 7 lists of constructive line variations, 11 lists of structural detail variations, 10 lists of decorative detail variations, 11 lists of fabric variations, and 9 lists of structural modifications of items.

The purpose of this study focusing on the gather decorations shown in the modern fashion was to review needlework techniques and design features of gather decorations and thereupon, analyze the aesthetic characteristics of gather decorations shown in designers' works to examine the gather decoration trend in today's fashion. First, the decorative features of gather decorations different from the conventional costumes are shirring, lace and trimming combined or shirring repeated. Second, in view of sensualism, the gather decorations seem to play a role of enhancing the exposure as a mode of expression, while the indirect exposure or beach is mixed with the materials to widen the range of gather decoration expressions. Third, in terms of history, the conventional decorative techniques are combined with new techniques and materials to create a fantastic and romantic mood different from the conventional costumes. Fourth, in view of rhythms, the wave line of the rim for gather decorations serves to express some vivid effects; on the human body, its monotonous plane repetition will turn into a new expression or a voluminous physical sense of motion. However, since expressions or meanings of the gather decorations are much diversified, they should not be regarded as simple decoration details. Our modern designers searching for new expression of creases use unique structural forms to explore the possibility of creative gather decorations. In all, since gather decorations seem to be significant as unique details conducive to a structural pragmatism and aesthetics, it is deemed necessary to continue to develop gather decorations.

The purpose of this study is to categorize the dimensions of the visual evaluation of the costume details of the retro romantic fashion and to research on the costume details and the visual evaluation by evaluators' gender, age, and major, and on their preferences. Quantitative research were conducted for this study. Based on the pictures, 10 costume details were selected for the survey questions and data were collected. All 446 subjects who participated in this research were college students(males and females) residing in or near Seoul. Data were collected in September, 2008. The collected data were statistically analyzed using SPSS which included: factor analysis, Cronbach's $\alpha$ reliability analysis, three-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range tests, and the t-test. The results of visual evaluation of retro romantic fashion are as follows: First, as a result of the factor analysis of the costume detail evaluation, five factors including attractiveness, decorativeness, cuteness, retro, and femininity surfaced. Second, the gender difference in the results of the research revealed that women rated decorative, cute, retro, and feminine characteristics higher than men did. Third, there were significant interactive effects in attractiveness and femininity depending on costume details and evaluators' gender. Fourth, subjects majoring in fashion valued attractiveness and femininity of the stimulus over non-fashion majoring subjects. Fifth, there were significant differences in the preferences of costume details depending on gender.

The purpose of this thesis is presenting desirable design of uniform which could reflect high school girls' demands with the researches on their consciousness of fashion and actual state of uniforms. Methods to accomplish this research include first, examinationson characteristics of high school girls and their consciousness of fashion with relevant articles, second, interviews with designers from major domestic uniform brands - ELITE, IVY, SMART - and third, analysis on related internet sites. Practical researches are followed by design analysis and proposal of improvement on high school girls' uniform, accompanied by collection of photographs from field studies, major uniform brands' shops and uniform related internet sites. Korean high school girls in the digital era are able to express themselves in each different fashion with own individuality, preference or intention, as they are particularly interested in clothes or their appearances. Their consciousness of fashion became visible in a shape of negative attitude and dissatisfaction with uniforms due to its out-of-date design, lack of features and inconvenience in action. Besides more than half of high school girls already experienced reforming it for better looks. As a result of current analysis on references of uniform designs, various levels of refinement were noticed even in uniform of similar details, design, fabric textile and color due to differences on size & length of jacket collar, dart, cutting line, size of details, decorative line, easiness in fit, length of clothes, and etc. To provide students of more refined and desired designs which reflect their demands, current uniforms are to begin acquiring delicate changes with present vogue and feature such as size of details, silhouette, cutting line, decorative line and etc. In addition newly designed uniforms are to present desirable design with image of refinement and neat as they actively comprehend students' needs within its symbolic, functional, economic and aesthetic characteristics by nature.

With such basic conceptions in mind. this study was aimed at reviewing the unique formative aesthetics of scarves for creation of modern apparel design. To this end, the drapeability of the rhythmically wrinkled fabric of scarf as well as its tying and enclosing representation were introduced into the apparel details and silhouette to create an apparel design flattering the moderns unique sense of aesthetics and emotion. In the same vein. threads were superimposed on the planar fabric to express a sense of volume and thereby, pursue a unique decorative effect of rich texture. Specifically. the objectives of this study are to highlight the practical use of scarf warming and its decorative formative aesthetics and thereby, apply it to apparel designs and develop an art fabric using the machine embroidery technique. and ultimately, suggest the possibility of unique but highly value-added apparel designs.

This study examines decorative features found in the traditional costume of the Miao, one of the minority groups in China, and adapts them for the development of modern Korean-style fashion designs in order to present visual sample data and to introduce techniques. As for the research method, both literature and visual data are examined: the former includes Miao-related books and theses; the latter, pictures from various documents and real-life data in the possession of Seoul Women's University. The study result is as follows: 1. The basic structure of Miao costume is consist of a Caftan-type upper garment and an accentuated lower garment, pleats skirt although they are decorated luxuriously with various techniques such as delicate embroidery and dyeing. 2. Details and trimmings in modern shapes are developed and presented by adding modern materials to satin, twists, cross-stitch embroidery, stripe patterns, geometrical patchwork, machine pleats and smoking, trimmings of fringe & feather, and the border line decoration of coloration, braids, piping, embroidery, belts tied and wound with colorful threads. 3. Detachable accessaries such as front reinforcement strips, back reinforcement strips, belts, decorative aprons and patchwork skirts are developed and designed by adapting highlighted layered effects. 4. The silver decoration used as an necessary by the Miao is suitable for modern fashion design in futuristic sense. Various techniques and decorative features of Miao costume display their true value all the more in modern fashion stream in which ethnic trends draw much attention.

As the building becomes more sophisticated, indoors and outdoors exterior decoration of construction has been increased. However, it is very difficult to produce an FDM(Free-form Decorative Mold) that meets the requirements of quality, durability, and ease of installation, resulting in a high cost. Therefore, the objective of this study is basic research for economical production of FDM production technology while satisfying the above requirements. For this study, the authors analyze the details of the shape and requirements of the FDM, and the production details and processes that reflect the characteristics. The results of this study can utilize to develop algorithms for production and management of academically efficient FDM and can utilize to secure FDM production technology at commercial level.
