  • A hybrid simulation model consists of real physical entities as well as simulated ones. It also contains logical processes for decision making for each operation units, a group of the entities. During the execution of such simulations, the physical and the logical processes consume real clock time while the activity durations of the simulated ones are generated. Due to the inherent chracteristics of the subjects of the communication channels. Since one can not undo an real event already taken place, the traditional central clock approach is used for the synchronization of the events(Kim[6]). However, there are still chances of causality errors due to the randomness in the communication delays. This error is not found in the distributed pure simulations. This paper explains the error in details and proposes a prevention scheme that is simple to implement.

  • The rapid development and diversification of technology require that firms should adjust and cope with a high degree of uncertainty regarding independent efforts in technology development. An alternative to these strategic responses is the R&D or technological collaborations among firms. There have been many researches on the reasons for and effects of these collaborative relationships; however, research examining the risks involved in the process of collaboration is lacking. The researches into essential prerequisites for successful technological collaborations have remained more or less premature despite of the increasing demand for interfirm R&D collaborations. In other words, the existing literature has mainly focused on the choice of collaborations, but has paid little attention to the processes of collaborations. This study tries to identify and integrate both success and risk factors affecting the decision making of whether collaborations are attempted or not and R&D collaboration processes. Finally, a model of interfirm collaborations is suggested and also practical implications for the firms which consider R&D collaboration with other firms are provided.

  • Letter of Credit (L/C) is currently a very popular international settlement method frequently used in international trade processes amongst countries around the globe. Compared with other international settlement methods, however, L/C has some obvious shortcomings. Firstly, it is not easy to use due to the sophisticated processes its usage involves. Secondly, it is sometimes accompanied by a few risks and some uncertainty. Thus, highly efficient methods need to be used to assess and control these risks. To begin with, FAHP and KMV methods are used to resolve the problem of incomplete information associated with L/C and then, on this basis, Bayesian game theory is used in order to make more scientific and reasonable decisions with respect to international trade.

  • A web-based program life-cycle management(PLM) system is introduced to implement the system engineering processes and to provide the development traceability online. This information system aims for the realization of essential system engineering management techniques currently applied to the space launch system development program including management of configuration and data based on the work breakdown structure(WBS), WBS, bill of materials and mass properties. The system enhances communication and gives access to the development data with relevant information such as data-to-data relation and approval status/history through the web, and preserve all of the development data throughout the program life-cycle. Further improvement of the system is planned to implement the program management processes and co provide integrated information useful for the programmatic decision making.

  • Virtual manufacturing is a technology facilitating effective development and agile manufacturing of products via sophisticated computer models representing physical and logical schema and behavior of real manufacturing systems including manufacturing resources, environments, and products. Based on these models, virtual manufacturing supports decision making and error checking in the entire manufacturing processes from design to mass production. At first, we analyzed manufacturing preparation activities of the four major production shops such as press, body assembly, painting and final assembly, of a Korean automotive company. We then developed the workflow models out of the analysis by the IDEF methodology, and generated a strategic plan for the systematic application of the virtual manufacturing technologies. We identified many manufacturing preparation activities that can be improved by the application of virtual manufacturing technologies. Finally, we estimated the effect of improvement including time savings in car development processes and corresponding cost savings.

  • Ready-Mixed Concrete transportation business has been managed by the manual operation and intuitive decision making. This study is on the process improvement on ordering process, and allocation/transportation of trucks commuting between the batching plant and construction sites. Processes of order collection, job dispatch and allocation, and on-time-delivery are analysed and improved. The logistics control system, with GPS system, was developed and implemented based on the reconstructed processes. Performances are evaluated after improved business process and logistics system was applied, and it is shown that waiting time loss is decreased by 55%, and that efficiency is increased by 15%.

  • Since the smart factory has been recently recognized as an industrial core requirement, various mechanisms to ensure efficient and stable operation have attracted much attention. This attention is based on the fact that in a smart factory environment where operating processes, such as facility control, data collection, and decision making are automated, the disruption of processes due to problems such as facility anomalies causes considerable losses. Although many studies have considered methods to prevent such losses, few have investigated how to effectively apply the solutions. This study proposes a Kubernetes based system applied in a smart factory providing effective operation and facility management. To develop the system, we employed a useful and popular open source project, and adopted deep learning based anomaly detection model for multi-sensor anomaly detection. This can be easily modified without interruption by changing the container image for inference. Through experiments, we have verified that the proposed method can provide system stability through nondisruptive maintenance, monitoring and non-disruptive updates for anomaly detection models.

  • In the modern, distributed and dynamic construction environment it is important to exchange information from different sources and in different data formats in order to improve the processes supported by these systems. Previous research has demonstrated that (i) a significant percentage of construction data is stored in semi-structured or unstructured data formats (ii) locating and identifying such data that are needed for the important decision making processes is a very hard and time-consuming task. In this paper, an automated methodology for the classification and retrieval of construction images in AEC/FM model based systems will be presented. Specifically, a combination of techniques from the areas of image processing, computer vision, and content-based image retrieval have been deployed to develop a method that can retrieve related construction site image data from components of a project model.

  • So far the studies on mathematical problem-solving education have failed to realize the anticipated result from students. The purpose of this study is to examine the reasons from the metacognitional viewpoint, and to think of making meta-items which enables learners to study through making effective use of the meaning of problem-solving and through establishing a general, well-organized theory on metacognition related to mathematic teaching guiedance. Metacognition means the understanding of knowledge of one's own and significance in the situation that can be reflection so as to express one's own knowledge and use it effectively when was questioned. Mathematics teacher can help students to learn how to control their behaviors by showing the strategy clearly, the decision and the behavior which are used in his own planning, supervising and estimating the solution process himself. If mathematics teachers want their students to be learners not simply knowing mathematical facts and processes, but being an active and positive, they should develop effective teaching methods. In fact, mathematics learning activities are accomplished under the complex condition arising from the factors of various cognition activities. therefore, mathematical education should consider various factors of feelings as well as a factor as fragmentary mathematical knowledge.

  • Recently retail market has been rapidly expanded in the large cities of in Korea and the competition among individual companies in retail market is also being increased. Tenant MD of mixing is one of the most important factor for the company to continuously operate or to fail. The aim of this study is to examine the processes of systematically evaluating the merchandising of the established companies in retail market a part of chain operation in discount store. The basic problem of decision making in general and tenant MD of mixing in particular is to choose a best one in a set of competing alternatives that are evaluated under conflicting criteria. The purpose of research of a paper carries out a duty searching examination with making a tenant MD include by retail research, simultaneously defined when I will show an example for the tenant mix of the profitability side of the domestic discount store market which is tenant MD importance proposing the existing problem arrangement by chain operation management, and is intensifying - tenant MD of standardization in discount store of T-company.
