Design of the Fuzzy-based Mobile Model for Energy Efficiency within a Wireless Sensor Network

  • Research on wireless sensor networks has focused on the monitoring and characterization of large-scale physical environments and the tracking of various environmental or physical conditions, such as temperature, pressure, and wind speed. We propose a stochastic mobility model that can be applied to a MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork). environment, and apply this mobility model to a newly proposed clustering-based routing protocol. To verify its stability and durability, we compared the proposed stochastic mobility model with a random model in terms of energy efficiency. The FND (First Node Dead) was measured and compared to verify the performance of the newly designed protocol. In this paper, we describe the proposed mobility model, quantify the changes to the mobile environment, and detail the selection of cluster heads and clusters formed using a fuzzy inference system. After the clusters are configured, the collected data are sent to a base station. Studies on clustering-based routing protocols and stochastic mobility models for MANET applications have shown that these strategies improve the energy efficiency of a network.

Implementation of Power Line MODEM for TDC Pulse Detection of SEPA

  • Recently, there are many cases to use a ship's engine performance analyzer(SEPA) to measure pressure in cylinder and top dead center(TDC) of piston of engine, and analyze its performance such as fuel injection time and horsepower as well as wear of piston ring. But, SEPA needs TDC pulses($T(1){\sim}T(n)$) generated when pistons of engine are located to the TDC position ($TDC(1){\sim}TDC(n)$), these pulses are gathered from sensors connected to gear wheel of the propeller shaft in the remote distance from the measurement point. Therefore, operators need a long wire cable(WRC) to TDC detecting sensor to get these pulses, but this method is a very uncomfortable and expensive in case of installation, and it might decrease user's purchase desire. In this paper, we design and fabricate a small and inexpensive MODEM cable(M0C) so that it may be available to transmit TDC pulse generated from sensor in propeller shaft through existing power line. We also verify the facts that this MOC can be applied to SEPA and the effectiveness of the system through the experiments.

화력 발전기 보일러 내부 작업자 위치 모니터링 시스템 개발 (The Monitoring System for Location of Workers Inside a Thermal Power Plant Boiler)

  • There are regularly planned overhaul periods in thermal power plants, which involve the maintenance of the boiler of the power plants. However, thermal power plants workers are always exposed to risk during overhaul periods owing to the narrow space and significant dust inside the boiler. Therefore, it is essential to develop a safety monitoring system that is suitable for operating in this type of environment. In this study, we developed not only a worker three-dimensional (3D)-location monitoring system that can monitor and record the entry/exit of workers, their 3D-location, and fall accidents but also a method to secure the working environment and operation efficiency. This system comprises of a worker tag, which was equipped with an inertial measurement unit, a barometric pressure sensor, and a Bluetooth low energy (BLE), and the tags were given to each worker. In addition, the location of workers inside the boiler was measured using a pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR) method and BLE beacons. The location data of the workers tag were transmitted to the integrated database (DB) server through a gateway, and to the administrator monitoring system. The performance of the system was demonstrated inside an actual thermal power plant boiler, and the accuracy and reliability of the system were verified through a number of repeated tests. These results provide insights on designing a new system for monitoring enclosed spaces.

휴식과 운동 중 COVID-19 대응 보건용 마스크 착용이 호흡·심혈관계 반응 및 착용감에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Wearing COVID-19 Protective Face Masks on Respiratory, Cardiovascular Responses and Wear Comfort During Rest and Exercise)

  • This study explores the effects of facemasks on respiratory, thermoregulatory, cardiovascular responses during exercise on a treadmill and at rest. Five male subjects (25.8 ± 0.8 y, 171.8 ± 9.2 cm in height, 79.8 ± 28.1 kg in weight) participated in the following five experimental conditions: no mask, KF80, KF94, KF99, and N95. Inhalation resistance was ranked as KF80 < KF94 < N95 < KF99 and dead space inside a mask was ranked as KF80 = KF94 < N95 < KF99. The surface area covered by a mask was on average 1.1% of the total body surface area. The results showed no significant differences in body core temperature, oxygen consumption (VO2), carbon dioxide production (VCO2), heart rate or subjective perception among the five experimental conditions; however, cheek temperature, respiratory ventilation and blood pressure were greater for KF80 or KF94 conditions when compared to KF99 or N95 conditions (p<0.05). The differences among mask conditions are attributed to the dead space or specific designs (cup type vs pleats type) rather than the filtration level. In addition, the results suggest that improving mask design can help mitigate respiratory resistance from increased filtration.

공정압 변화에 따른 중공사막의 투과플럭스 특성 (Characteristic of the Permeation Flux of Hollow Fiber Membranes by Process Pressures Change)

  • 본 연구에서는 호소수의 정수처리공정 중 폴리술폰계 중공사막을 이용한 침지형(흡인압)과 외압형을 동시에 적용한 분리막 공정으로 압력 및 공경에 따른 투과플럭스의 변화에 관한 성능을 평가하고자 하였다. 침지형(흡인압) 공정의 압력에 따른 최대 투과 플럭스는 공경이 $0.3{\mu}m$에서 평균 282 LMH, $0.05{\mu}m$에서는 234 LMH를 나타내었으며 외압형(외압) 공정의 압력에 따른 최대 투과 플럭스는 공경이 $0.3{\mu}m$에서 평균 443 LMH, $0.05{\mu}m$에서는 522 LMH를 나타내었다. 또한, 흡인압과 외압을 동시에 적용한 공정의 압력에 따른 최대 투과 플럭스는 공경이 $0.3{\mu}m$에서 평균 674 LMH $0.05{\mu}m$에서는 648 LMH를 나타내었다. 따라서, 호소수를 이용한 정수처리공정에서 분리막으로 흡인압과 외압을 동시에 이용할 경우 단위 면적당 생산수를 최대로 할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

일측 폐이식 실험견에서 이식폐의 기능 평가연구 (An Assessment of Allograft Function in Canine Single Lung Transplantation)

  • We experienced 7 cases of left single lung transplantation in 14 mongrel dogs and analyzed graft lung function by hemodynamics, blood gas analysis, chest X-ray, biopsy and perfusion lung scan. We performed right pulmonary artery cuff[PA cuff for analysis of graft lung function in 3 cases. The donor lungs were flushed with modified Euro-Collins solution[n=3 or low potassium dextran glucose solution[n=4 and preserved for 4 to 5 hours[n=4 or 24 hours[n=3 at 10o C and implanted to the dogs with similar weight . Assessment of left graft lung was done by occluding the right pulmonary artery for 10 minutes using PA cuff. Assessment for graft lung function was done immediately after an operation and after 3 days, 7days and 3 weeks postoperatively. Four dogs survived for 3days, 7days[2 cases and 3 weeks respectively. Other three dogs expired within 3 hours of reperfusion. Immediate perfusion scans of left lung in four survived dogs after reperfusion were 42.1%, 36% , 11% and 5.9% respectively, and another dog with 4.8% perfusion to left lung was dead due to left atrial thrombi after 3 hours reperfusion. In one case among three acute rejections follow-up perfusion scan was done on 3rd and 11th postoperative day and the result decreased from 36% perfusion immediate postoperatively to 21% and 15% respectively. Three expired dogs postoperatively couldn`t tolerate occlusion of right pulmonary artery with above 40 mmHg of mean pulmonary artery pressure. On the other hand, three survival dogs postoperatively tolerated occlusion of right pulmonay artery with less than 30 mmHg of mean pulmonary artery pressure. and one dog couldn`t tolerate same procedure immediate postopertively but in 2 hours reperfusion later tolerated with 29 mmHg of mean pulmonary artery pressure.In conclusion we couldn`t compare the effect of two flushing solutions but low potassium dextran glucose solution showed relatively safe preservation effect in cases with preservation of more than 20 hours. Also canine left single lung transplantation model with PA cuff indicated useful method for the assessment of graft lung function with effect of lung preservation.

직접분사식 압축점화 디젤엔진의 연소 및 배기특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Combustion and Emission Characteristics in Compression Ignition CRDI Diesel Engine)

  • Recently it has been focused that the automobile engine has developed in a strong upward tendency for the use of the high viscosity and poorer quality fuels in achieving the high performance, fuel economy, and emission reduction. Therefore it is not easy to solve the problems between low specific fuel consumption and exhaust emission control at motor cars. In this study, it is designed and used the engine test bed which is installed with turbocharger and intercooler. In addition to equipped using CRDI by controlling injection timing with mapping modulator, it has been tested and analyzed the engine performance, combustion characteristics, and exhaust emission as operating parameters, and they were engine speeds(rpm), injection timing(bTDC), and engine load(%). From the result of an experimental analysis, peak cylinder pressure and the rate of pressure rise were increased, and the location of it was closer toward top dead center according to the increasing of engine speed and load, and with advancing injection timing. The combustion characteristics are effected by fuel injection timing due to be enhanced the mass burned fraction. Using the engine dynamometer for analyzing the engine performance, the engine torque and power have been enhanced according to advancing the fuel injection timing. In analyzing of exhaust emission, there has been a trade-off between PM and NOx with increasing of engine speed and load, and with advanced injection timing. The experimental data are shown that the formation of NOx has increased and PM, vice versa.

지하차도 부력저감을 위한 유도배수공법의 적용성 검토: 수치해석적 연구 (Applicability examinations of induced drainage system for reduction of uplift pressure in underpass structures: Numerical study)

  • 도시지역에 주로 건설되는 지하차도는 기존의 터널과 달리 지표면에 근접한 지반에 시공되어 지하수의 양압력에 의한 구조물 부상 및 손상이 발생할 수 있다. 도심지 지하차도의 기존 설계방법(사하중 증가 또는 영구앵커 등의 부력 대처공법)은 지나치게 안전측인 보수적 설계를 수행하고 있어 시공기간 및 경제적 비용 증가를 초래한다. 최근 이를 보완하는 공법으로 영구배수공법 사용이 증가하고 있으나 대상 토질과 지하수 등을 고려한 적절한 분석과정 없이 선정되는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 최근 Y지역에 설치되는 영구배수공법의 일종인 유도배수공법을 대상으로 지반공학적 관점에서 합리적인 설계체계를 수립하기 위해 지하수위 변화, 지하차도 옹벽 높이, 기초지반 조건 등 다양한 매개변수에 대한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 본 연구 결과로부터 유도배수공법은 지하수에 의해 발생하는 양압력을 효과적으로 저감시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.

HCCI엔진의 과급조건에서 EGR영향에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Investigation of Exhaust Gas Recirculation Effect under Boost Pressure Condition on Homogeneous Charge Compression Autoignition)

  • 본 연구에서는 HCCI엔진의 과급조건에서 EGR의 영향에 대하여 수치해석적인 방법으로 연구하였다. 수치해석은 CHEMKIN-PRO에 있는 single-zone model을 사용하였고 연료로는 N-heptnae, Iso-octane 그리고 PRF50을 사용하였다. 사용된 연료의 화학반응 매커니즘과 열역학적 변수들은 Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory(LLNL)의 모델을 사용하였다. 연소상의 변화는 열효율에 큰 영향을 미치게 되므로 이영향을 배제하기 위해 본 연구에서는 CA50을 $365^{\circ}CA$($5^{\circ}CA$ aTDC)로 일정하게 고정하였다. 연구결과 EGR의 영향으로 줄어든 산소의 영향에 의해 저온산화반응과 NTC, 고온산화반응이 모두 약화되고 열발생률이 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 과급과 EGR을 함께 사용하게 되면 과급에 의해 증가한 산소량과 연료의 영향으로 인해 연소가 강화되어 저온산화반응, NTC, 고온산화반응이 강화되고 열 발생률이 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. EGR만을 사용하는 경우 IMEP가 감소하는 경향을 나타내지만 과급과 EGR을 함께 사용하는 경우 과급의 영향으로 인해 IMEP가 크게 증가하여 낮은 압력상승률과 높은 출력을 함께 얻을 수 있는 것을 확인하였다.

보강토교대로 지지된 슬래브교의 설계 활하중에 대한 반력 및 접지압 검토 (Comparison of reaction force and contact pressure on design truck load of slab bridge supported by MSEW abutment)

  • 본 연구에서는 보강토교대로 지지된 슬래브교의 설계 활하중을 도로교설계기준(2010)의 DB-24와 도로교설계기준(한계상태설계법)(2015)의 KL-510으로 구조해석을 수행하였다. 구조해석 결과로부터 산정된 슬래브교의 반력과 보강토교대에 작용하는 접지압에 대해 비교검토를 수행하였다. 교대에 작용되는 반력은 교각의 유무와 개수에 따라 다르게 산정되었다. 단경간에 비해 연속교에서 교대에 작용되는 반력이 감소되는 것으로 나타났다. 구조해석 결과, 활하중보다는 고정하중에 의한 반력이 약 2배 이상 크게 산정되었으며, 활하중이 전체 반력에 미치는 영향이 상대적으로 작았다. 보강토교대에 작용하는 접지압은 단경간에서 가장 크게 산정되었다. 이동하중의 종류에 따른 영향은 상대적으로 크지 않았다. 따라서, 연속교에서 교대에 작용되는 반력과 접지압이 작게 산정되기 때문에, 단경간 교량보다는 연속 교량에 보강토교대를 적용하는 것이 유리한 것으로 판단되었다. 보강토교대에 작용되는 반력과 하중 분담률은 다양한 조건에 따라 달라지므로, 다양한 교량 형식과 제원에서의 접지압 검토가 향후 필요하다.
