Apartment auction is a system that is used for the citizens to get a house. This paper deals with the implementation of a web-based intelligent decision support system using OLAP technique and data mining technique for auction decision support. The implemented decision support system is working on a real auction database and is mainly composed of OLAP Knowledge Extractor based on data warehouse and Auction Data Miner based on data mining methodology. OLAP Knowledge Extractor extracts required knowledge and visualizes it from auction database. The OLAP technique uses fact, dimension, and hierarchies to provide the result of data analysis by menas of roll-up, drill-down, slicing, dicing, and pivoting. Auction Data Miner predicts a successful bid price by means of applying classification to auction database. The Miner is based on the lazy model-based classification algorithm and applies the concepts such as decision fields, dynamic domain information, and field weighted function to this algorithm and applies the concepts such as decision fields, dynamic domain information, and field weighted function to this algorithm to reflect the characteristics of auction database.

Most of the agricultural structures are in shortage of feasible facility management because these structures are small in size and spacially distributed in rural area. Inspection tools based on visual inspections are generally used for agricultural structures in most of the countries, including Korea. It is necessary to survey data of the irrigation structures to maintain records, and to develop the interface program by constructing database of inspection data. This study was conducted to develop a system for safe appraisal and repair works on agricultural irrigation structures. Repair and rehabilitation method can be chosen from an optimum viewpoint if the information between the method and life-cycle management cost of agricultural structures is constructed in the database. In this study, the system assisting onsite field investigation and determining the typical rehabilitation method of typical agricultural structural problems such as fractures and cracks of members was developed.

본 연구는 분류자동화를 위해 이미 연구된 바 있는 농학 및 의학분야의 AutoBC 시스템에 대한 계속적인 연구의 일환으로 식물학분야의 문헌에 대해 분류자동화가 가능한지의 여부를 CC의 원리를 응용하여 실험 및 검증한 것이다. 분류자동화를 위한 데이터베이스는 원통형과 행렬식의 원리에 의해 설계되었으며, 문헌의 표제나 키워드를 입력하여 자동적인 주제인지 및 분류기호가 생성될 수 있는 윈도우용 자동분류시스템을 새로이 개발하여 실험하였다.

The setting of protective relays, which is critical to the system security, requires a huge volume of data and a lot of repetitive calculations. Therefore computerization of this process, named PROSET2000 is in progress in KEPCO. PROSET2000 is based on a power system protection database. The database must accomodate a variety of protective device data efficiently, which need be viewed and updated with ease. This paper suggests several database management functions for PROSET2000.

This paper describes the database for wire cutting electrodischarge conditions and variable taper wire-cut Machining. Electodischarge wire-cut machining is applicable to all materials that are fairly good electrical conductors, including metals, alloys, and most carbides. Thus it provides a relatively simple method for making holes of any desired cross section in materials that are too hard or brittle to be machined by most other methods. In conventional wire cutting CAM systems usually generate the NC code omitting electrodischarge conditions, so operator edits the NC code manually. But it is very inefficient. Therefore in this paper we propose a wire cutting CAM system including database for electrodischarge conditions. Proposed system consists of three steps: 1) Development of database for electrodischarge conditions 2) Development of CAM functions, Including 2D CAD modeling tools, file I/O functions, wire path genera tion functions and postprocessor. 3) Development of variable taper wire-cut machining module. The proposed system has been tested in the JinYoung precision Machine Co.,LTD. and found to be working satisfactorily.

Newspaper Article Information is an important source of information on social phenomenon with historical value. The development of computer and technology of information communication enables the construction of Newspaper Article Database by CTS and service through computer communication. It made it possible for the peoples to utilize the Newspaper Article Information easily. However, it is very difficult to utilize the currently prevailing system. There are differences in classification system of Newspaper Article Database and the Data Display Format. This survey aims to review the characteristics of Newspaper Article Database and current domestic computer communication service system. By comparing the classification system of Retrieval Menu and Data Display Format, I intended to suggest the standardized way of utilization which enables the users utilize them more easily and conveniently. The results of this survey is as follows : 1. More sub-divided distinction of classification item is required. 2. Separate classification item should be established for the distinction of article form which is very difficult to classify the subject. 3. Data Display Format should be equi n.0, pped with standardized format and signal which enables the users recognize it easily.

본 연구에서는 각 지역 데이터베이스에 저장되어 있는 컨텐츠들을 통합 관리할 수 있는 컨텐츠 통합 관리 시스템을 개발하였다. 컨텐츠 통합 관리 시스템은 각 지역 데이터베이스에 저장되어 있는 컨텐츠들의 저장 스키마를 표준화된 XML 문서로 변환하여 통합된 전역 데이터베이스를 생성한다. 본 연구에서 개발한 컨텐츠 통합 관리 시스템은 컨텐츠의 지속적인 확보를 위해 서로 다른 환경에서 저장되고 운영되고 있는 컨텐츠를 통합관리 할 수 있는 효과적인 방법을 제시한다.

Materials property data are necessary to secure the reliability of failure prevention techniques such as inspection and remaining life assessment of civil infrastructure and industrial facilities. However, there is no properly collected data in Korea, and those foreign data are hard to use because of the scattering of the sources, the difference of standards, etc. In this paper, materials property database system which has been constructed at Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science is introduced. Constructed database contains 145,000 numeric data of materials property for 600 kinds of metals and can be retrieved on the internet. The database system provides graphical user interface-based information searching functions necessary for the life evaluation and safety analysis.

Entity-relationship modeling for designing relational database is a very complicated thinking process that requires extensive knowledge and experiences. It is very likely that designers make mistakes in this process. In order to minimize the mistakes, a systematic method to guide the thinking process is needed. In this research, an entity-relationship modeling system is developed, which resolves the whole process of information modeling, data modeling, and functional dependency relationship analysis into small and simple decision-making steps. Therefore, it can reduce the possibility of making decision errors and improve the efficiency of the modeling process. It's functionality and efficiency is verified through some modeling examples. It is expected that the modeling system can be commercialized, if some functions are added, such as detection, warning, and correction of decision errors, and educational help.

Effective database is the key to manage automatic distribution system. Currently, automatic distribution system database has been studied with a relational concept. But, it is hard to describe the characteristic of automatic distribution system data which require real time management and composite type. This paper present the way how to design conceptual schema for EMS database using object-oriented concept which is free to decribe composite data type and support inheritance concept.
