A Survey on Fish Habitat Conditions of Domestic Rivers and Construction of Its Database (국내 어류 서식환경 조사 및 데이터베이스 구축)

  • In order to restore an ecologically damaged river, freshwater fish which inhabit at the target aquatic ecosystem have a great applicability as one of the essential indicators. Although the informations about the habitat conditions of freshwater fish are key elements reflecting biological, physical, and chemical properties of the aquatic environment, because of the lack of preceding related research and insufficient database with scattered data, they have not been applied effectively for the ecological river restoration projects in Korea. To cope with these problems, based on the nation-wide detailed investigation for domestic freshwater fish habitat conditions, we have selected 70 species considering the possibility for the candidates of flagship species, constructed a database for their population, physical, and chemical habitat properties, and suggested its application methodology for the river restoration projects. In particular, the utilization of the database has been enhanced by the additional statistical analysis to present their resistance and optimum ranges for physical, and chemical habitat properties respectively. It is expected that the database constructed in this study can be utilized for the calculation and evaluation of the appropriate ecological flow rate and target water quality for the selected flagship species (fish), and the basic data for the restoration of river environment.

Excavation Mechanism of Roadheader and Statistical Analysis of its Key Design Parameters Based on Database (로드헤더의 굴착 원리와 데이터베이스를 활용한 로드헤더 핵심 설계 항목의 통계분석)

  • Nowadays, a roadheader as a mechanical excavator is in high demand, especially for mines under various conditions and tunnels where TBMs are inapplicable. However, the records of roadheaders in Korea are seldom reported. Moreover, the number of countries with their intrinsic design and manufacturing technologies of roadheaders is very limited. Therefore, this study aimed to analyse the excavation principles of roadheader as well as its key design parameters for its optimized selection and design. In addition, the database with 143 world-widely collected roadheader design data was built, and a few statistical correlations were derived from it. A schematic procedure for roadheader design based on the database was also proposed.

  • Developing an efficient knowledge base construction mechanism as an input method for expert systems (ES) development is of extreme importance due to the fact that an input process takes a lot of time and cost in constructing an ES. Most ES require experts to explicit their tacit knowledge into a form of explicit knowledge base with a full sentence. In addition, the explicit knowledge bases were composed of strict grammar and keywords. To overcome these limitations, this paper proposes a knowledge conceptualization and construction mechanism for automated knowledge acquisition, allowing an efficient decision. To this purpose, we extended traditional knowledge map (KM) construction process to dynamic knowledge map (DKM) and combined this algorithm with relational database (RDB). In the experiment section, we used medical data to show the efficiency of our proposed mechanism. Each rule in the DKM was characterized by the name of disease, clinical attributes and their treatments. Experimental results with various disease show that the proposed system is superior in terms of understanding and convenience of use.

  • Most recently, offshore Engineering & Construction field is concerned about integration management technology such as CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing), PDM(Product Data Management) and Enterprise Information Engineering in order to cope with the rapid change of engineering and manufacturer specification as per owner's requirement during construction stage of the project. System integration and integrated data modeling with relational database in integration management technology improve the quality of product and reduce the period of the construction project by reason of owing design information jointly. This paper represents the design methodology of system integration using Business Process Reengineering by the case study. The case study is about the offshore plant material information process from front end engineering design to detail engineering for the construction and the basis of monitoring system by integrating and sharing the design information between the 2D intelligent P&ID and 3D plant modeling using relational database. As a result of the integrated data modeling and system integration, it is possible to maintain the consistency of design process in point of view of the material balancing and reduce the design assumption/duration. Near future, this system will be expanded and connected with the MRP(Material Requirement Planing) and the POR (Purchase Order Requisition) system.

  • This paper presents a system architecture and database of construction quality management system which encourages real time information tracking and monitoring. It improves the real time quality record tracking by using QR code technology in the project delivery. The advantages and issues relative to QR code and the database structures of the tracking system are presented. Conventional project scheduling system, operation modeling and analysis system, and quality management system are hybridized using QR code technology. The system improves project quality management by tracking the atomic tasks which consists of a construction process at the lowest level of construction hierarchy. It analyzes the quality records to determine the causes of abnormality and/or nonconformity. Using QR code technology, the construction quality management system may be more effective than the conventional one. It was confirmed that the quality management processes in construction project delivery can be more visible and controllable by integrating QR code technology, project scheduling system, and quality management system.

  • This reserch was to develop database software in order to handle a lot of clinical nursing data with nursing diagnoses, related factors, defining characteristics, nursing interventions, nursing activities and nursing outcomes. MS Access2000 and SQL was selected to use a general purpose database logic with an efficiency. MS Visual Basic 6.0 was used to construct the circumstance of Graphic User Interface. The Linkage Database of abdominal surgery patients was constructed from the clinical data and questionnaire. This database system could add related factors, defining characteristics, nursing activities in the database and analyze the statistical results through Access query. In the final stage, end-users satisfaction analysis using 5 points Likert scale was dong with the response of using the database system. The accuracy/trustworthiness of the database system was verified with the highest average scores as 4.42 and also, the efficiency as 4.21, user friendly function as 4.1.

  • The base composition for a construction information union and application is insufficient, because the existent information driving for the underground facility is separately promoted from management organization. This Study is to analyze a accuracy by converting pre-constructive underground facility database to the unification database of digital map base and improve the accuracy for a field surveying. moreover, These results is to construct the information common system of web base GIS by jointing internet technology.

  • The database design for the management of bridge measurement information is presented in this paper. To express the associated data generated during the whole process of ambient measurement efficiently, requirements analysis for database construction is performed. And to define objects and organize schema conceptual and logical design are performed, which convert data model into logical schema. Finally, physical design is performed using DDL(data defined language). This database is based on the object-relational data modeling approach that has rich expressive power and good reusability in comparison with the traditional entity-relational modeling.

  • This paper is a report on part of the results of a research project entitled "Research and Model Development for a Multi-Lingual Lexical Database". It Is a six-year project in which we aim to construct a model of a multilingual lexical database of Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and English. Now we have finished the first two-year stage of the project In this paper, we present the goal of the project, the construction model of items in the lexical database, and the possible (semi-)automatic methods of acquisition of lexical information. As an appendix, we present some sample items of the database as an i1lustration.
