A Key Management System for Cloud Services Based on Proxy Server Using Self-Creating Algorithm (셀프 생성 알고리즘을 사용한 프락시 서버를 기반으로 한 클라우드 서비스를 위한 키 관리 시스템)

  • A key role in cloud computing systems that is becoming an issue is implementing a database on untrusted cloud servers requiring the complexity of key management. This study proposes a key management system using Self Proxy Servers to minimize key executions and improve the performance of cloud services by generating Self-Creating Algorithms where the data owner is not directly concerned with related keys when a user sends an encrypted database a query. The Self Proxy Server supports active and autonomous key managements as a distributed server if any trouble should arise from a cloud key server and for an efficient cloud key management. Therefore, the key management system provides secure cloud services by supporting confidentiality of a cloud server database.

  • Up to the present, many GIS logical data models have been proposed to incorporate time dimension into traditional 2-dimensional (2D space) GIS databases. However, these models are difficult to implementation of multi-dimensional GIS and have problems of significant data redundancy and search performance. This paper proposes a new storage strategy and a separate storage structure, that is composed of current database and past database, in order to reduce data redundancy and improve search performance of temporal query. Also we design moving algorithm for migration from current database to past database, and design efficient search algorithm for temporal query.

Distorted Image Database Retrieval Using Low Frequency Sub-band of Wavelet Transform (웨이블릿 변환의 저주파수 부대역을 이용한 왜곡 영상 데이터베이스 검색)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm using wavelet transform for still image database retrieval. Especially, it uses only the lowest frequency sub-band in multi-level wavelet transform so that a retrieval system uses a smaller quantity of memory and takes a faster processing time. We extract different textured features, statistical information such as mean, variance and histogram, from low frequency sub-band. Then we measure the distances between the query image and the images in a database in terms of these features. To obtain good retrieval performance, we use the first feature (mean and variance of wavelet coefficients) to filter out most of the unlikely images. The rest of the images are considered to be candidate images. Then we apply the second feature (histogram of wavelet coefficient) to rank all the candidate images. To evaluate the algorithm, we create various distorted image databases using MIT VisTex texture images and PICS natural images. Through simulations, we demonstrate that our method can achieve performance satisfactorily in terms of the retrieval accuracy as well as the both memory requirement and computational complexity. Therefore it is expected to provide good retrieval solution for JPEG-2000 using wavelet transform.

  • In this paper, we constructs face database by using wavelet comparison, and compare face recognition rate by using principle component analysis (Principal Component Analysis : PCA) algorithm. General face recognition method constructs database, and do face recognition by using normalized size. Proposed method changes image of normalized size (92${\times}$112) to 1 step, 2 step, 3 steps to wavelet compression and construct database. Input image did compression by wavelet and a face recognition experiment by PCA algorithm. As well as method that is proposed through an experiment reduces existing face image's information, the processing speed improved. Also, original image of proposed method showed recognition rate about 99.05%, 1 step 99.05%, 2 step 98.93%, 3 steps 98.54%, and showed that is possible to do face recognition constructing face database of large quantity.

  • To maintain the traditional notion of global serializability in multidatabase systems has been recognized as one of difficult problems due to the autonomy of participating local database systems. In this paper, we propose a global concurrency control algorithm based on the relaxed concurrency control criterion in distributed MDBs, which can be applied to applications in which the database integration has no effect on the integrity constraints. In the proposed algorithm, the process to determine whether a global transaction can be executed or not consists of intra-validation phase and inter-validation phase.

  • This paper presents an approach for improving the use of VP-tree in video indexing and searching. A vantage-point tree or VP-tree is one of the metric space-based indexing methods used in multimedia database searches and data retrieval. Instead of relying on the Euclidean distance as a measure of search space, the proposed approach focuses on the trigonometric inequality for compressing the search range, which thus, improves the search performance. A test result of using 10,000 video files shows that this method reduced the search time by 5-12%, as compared to the existing method that uses the AESA algorithm.

  • We acquired data of injection molding machine in operation and stored the data in database. We acquired the data of injection molding machine for fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) continuously and estimated the fault results with a fuzzy algorithm. Many of FDD are applied to a huge system, nuclear power plant and a computer numerical control(CNC) machine for processing machinery. But, the research of FDD is rare in injection molding machine compare with computer numerical control machine. We appraise the accuracy of the FDD and the limit of the application to the injection molding machine. We construct the fault detection and diagnosis system based on fuzzy algorithm in the injection molding machine. Data of operating injection molding machine are acquired in order to improve the reliability of detection and diagnosis.

  • In this paper, we propose a novo] content-based image retrieval system using both Hidden Markov Model(HMM) and an improved chain code. The Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM) is applied to statistically model a color information of the image, and Deterministic Annealing EM(DAEM) algorithm is employed to estimate the parameters of GMM. This result is used to segment the given image. We use an improved chain code, which is invariant to rotation, translation and scale, to extract the feature vectors of the shape for each image in the database. These are stored together in the database with each HMM whose parameters (A, B, $\pi$) are estimated by Baum-Welch algorithm. With respect to feature vector obtained in the same way from the query image, a occurring probability of each image is computed by using the forward algorithm of HMM. We use these probabilities for the image retrieval and present the highest similarity images based on these probabilities.

  • FRBR, as is new conceptual model of bibliography based on entity-relation model, direct to revision of AACR. OCLC and other bibliographic utility develop algorithm that cluster relative bibliographic records automatically, which were derived from one original work, and web-based prototype for FRBR browsing.   • An active omni-directional raging system using an omni-directional vision with structured light has many advantages compared to the conventional ranging systems: robustness against external illumination noise because of the laser structured light and computational efficiency because of one shot image containing $360^{\circ}$ environment information from the omni-directional vision. The omni-directional range data represents a local distance map at a certain position in the workspace. In this paper, we propose a matching algorithm for the local distance map with the given global map database, thereby to localize a mobile robot in the global workspace. Since the global map database consists of line segments representing edges of environment object in general, the matching algorithm is based on relative position and orientation of line segments in the local map and the global map. The effectiveness of the proposed omni-directional ranging system and the matching are verified through experiments.
