  • 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11e MAC (Medium Access Control) 프로토콜을 NS-2 등과 같은 유명한 시뮬레이터들보다도 진보적인 NCTUns 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 개발하고자 하면서, 각 MSDU (MAC Service Data Unit)마다 제공되어야 하는 TID (Traffic Identification) 를 결정하는 방안을 모색하고 있다. 따라서 본론에서는 IEEE 802.l1e MAC 프로토콜과 NCTUns 시뮬레이터 에 대해서 기술하며 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법에 대해서 서술한다.

  • This paper presents dynamic modeling and simulation of induction motors. Equivalent circuit parameters measured by do test, no-load test and locked-rotor test were used as the input data for computer simulation. Operating characteristics of an induction motor were predicted by Matlab/simulink when changing load torque, opening and reclosing of phase a of the stator and three-phase fault at machine terminals.

  • A method for image data compression, Called condtional replenishment, using the interframe correlation of image signal hasbeen studied. In this study, only those picture elements between successive frames are transmitted instead of every picture element in each, frame. A real time test simulator that can demonstrate the functions of conditional replenishment coder with condition of noiseless channel has been realized, and the result shows that the transmitting pixels can be compressed to the 25% of original signal retaining good picture quality.

  • 국내에 설치되어 있는 수력발전설비의 많은 부분이 노후화되고 있으며 디지털 시스템의 발전으로 발전소의 제어시스템도 디지털시스템으로 설비개체가 많이 시행되고 있다. 특히 부가가치가 높고 연구개발이 미진한 터빈 조속기 제어시스템 분야의 국산화가 시급한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 수력발전소 수차제어를 디지털 제어시스템으로 개발하기 위하여 기본 자료로서의 각 운전 단계별로 데이터를 취득하고 분석하여 제시하였다.

  • 야구 경기에서는 한 경기에 여러 투수가 등판하게 되는데, 상황에 따라 성격이 다른 투수가 공을 던지게 된다. 이러한 등판 투수의 선정은 감독 고유의 권한이며 감독이 오랜 경험을 통해 승리하기 위해 최적의 투수를 선정하게 된다. 본 논문은 그러한 감독의 경험을 학습하기 위하여 프로야구 경기에서 발생하는 기록 데이터를 데이터마이닝을 이용하여 분석한 후, 앞으로 열릴 경기에 등판할 투수를 미리 예측할 수 있는 방안에 대하여 연구하였다.

  • TFT2DS was developed to provide the usability as an analytic and design tool. The static characteristics of a-Si TFTs demonstrated a good agreement between simulated and measured data. This paper shows that WDS can optimize the physical parameters of a-Si through sensitivity simulations and compute the static characteristics of a-Si TFTs.

Development of a Remote Operation System for a Quay Crane Simulator (안벽크레인 시뮬레이터 원격운전 시스템 개발)

  • Quay cranes are considered core equipment for container terminal operation. However, unmanned operation systems have not as yet been announced due to the technological difficulties of implementation. In this paper, we developed a wireless controller to control a quay crane simulator remotely and conducted its performance test, a first step toward unmanned operation of quay cranes. The communication delay of a developed wireless controller was about 9.4ms on average while that of existing wired controllers was about 5.6ms. The same functions were implemented and tested on a smart phone where the average communication delay was 7.3ms. In addition, to apply the developed system into a real environment, we proposed a network architecture based on IEEE 802.11ac and carried out its performance evaluation. When the distance between two nodes was 50m apart, the throughputs of the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol) were 57Mbps and 189Mbps, respectively. The communication delay of the control data was 9.1ms through the TCP channel. These results reveal the proper working of remote quay crane operation if we adopt the IEEE 802.11ac network.

ROV Manipulation from Observation and Exploration using Deep Reinforcement Learning

  • The paper presents dual arm ROV manipulation using deep reinforcement learning. The purpose of this underwater manipulator is to investigate and excavate natural resources in ocean, finding lost aircraft blackboxes and for performing other extremely dangerous tasks without endangering humans. This research work emphasizes on a self-learning approach using Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). DRL technique allows ROV to learn the policy of performing manipulation task directly, from raw image data. Our proposed architecture maps the visual inputs (images) to control actions (output) and get reward after each action, which allows an agent to learn manipulation skill through trial and error method. We have trained our network in simulation. The raw images and rewards are directly provided by our simple Lua simulator. Our simulator achieve accuracy by considering underwater dynamic environmental conditions. Major goal of this research is to provide a smart self-learning way to achieve manipulation in highly dynamic underwater environment. The results showed that a dual robotic arm trained for a 3DOF movement successfully achieved target reaching task in a 2D space by considering real environmental factor.
