생애주기에 따른 치아우식증 영향 요인 (Influencing factors of dental caries across the life cycle of Koreans)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted in order to identify the various influencing factors of dental caries according to the socio-economic characteristics and oral health behaviors across the life cycle among Koreans. Methods: The data were extracted from the 6th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2013-2015) and a total of 4,871 subjects with ages of 7 and over were selected. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 for ${\chi}^2$-test and multi-logistic regression. Results: Significant differences were observed in the socio-economic characteristics, health behaviors and in the dental caries across the life cycle. The influencing factors of DT includes the type of health insurance (p<0.05) in school aged & adolescence, Oral health examination/year (p<0.01), Residence (p<0.05) in early adults, type of health insurance (p<0.001), Oral health examination/year (p<0.001), use of oral hygiene products (p<0.01) in late Adults, Oral health examination/year (p<0.05) and Gender (p<0.05) in old age. Conclusions: This study suggests that dental health promotion can be enhanced by regular checkup. The government must provide the people with better quality of oral health care and promotion across the life cycle in the near future.

  • As over 70% of the total life cycle cost (LCC) of a product is committed at the early design stage, designers are in an important position to substantially reduce the LCC of the products they design by giving due to life cycle implications of their design decisions. During early design stages, there may be competing concepts with dramatic differences. In addition, the detailed information is scarce and decisions must be made quickly. Thus, both the overhead in developing parametric LCC models fur a wide range of concepts, and the lack of detailed information make the application of traditional LCC models impractical. A different approach is needed, because a traditional LCC method is to be incorporated in the very early design stages. This paper explores an approximate method for providing the preliminary LCC, Learning algorithms trained to use the known characteristics of existing products might allow the LCC of new products to be approximated quickly during the conceptual design phase without the overhead of defining new LCC models. Artificial neural networks are trained to generalize product attributes and LCC data from pre-existing LCC studies. Then the product designers query the trained artificial model with new high-level product attribute data to quickly obtain an LCC for a new product concept. Foundations fur the learning LCC approach are established, and then an application is provided.

기업현금과 라이프사이클 (Corporate cash holdings and life-cycle)

  • 본 샘플은 2001년부터 2013년까지 유가증권시장 기업의 재무특성과 라이프사이클을 동시에 고려하여 현금보유수준과 현금한계가치 결정요인을 분석했다. 본 연구의 주요한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유가증권기업의 평균현금보유수준은 총자산대비 5.12%로 2000년 초에 비해서 소폭 상승했지만 외국 선행연구에서처럼 대폭적인 현금증가는 관찰되지 않았다. 평균현금보유 추이는 금융위기 발발이후 2008년경 전반적으로 상승했으나, 지난 13년 동안 최종적인 현금보유는 0.76%포인터 증가에 불과했다. 둘째, 기업라이프사이클에 따라서 현금보유수준의 결정요인의 영향정도가 서로 다르고 그 중에서도 투자기회와 관련된 변수들이 차이를 나타냈다. 기업현금의 예비적 수요 및 거래적 수요는 모두 감소한 것으로 파악되었다. 셋째, 기업라이프사이클에 따라서 현금한계가치가 서로 다르게 평가되고, 전체적으로 선행연구에 비해서 한계가치가 현저히 낮게 산출되었다. 넷째, 이러한 증거들은 유가증권시장 기업들이 투자기회의 위축 등으로 현금을 축적하고자하는 유인이 감소했음을 시사한다.

The Effects of Slab Size on Pavement Life Cycle Cost

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of expansion joint spacing (slab size) on the life cycle costs of owning Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) airfield pavements. Previous research has shown that slab size has a statistically significant impact on pavement performance. A probabilistic life cycle cost analysis was performed to determine if the effect of slab size on pavement performance would affect the total cost of ownership of PCC pavements. Data from 48 Pavement Condition Index (PCI) inspections of military and civilian airfields were used to develop probability-of-distress-by-condition curves, which were then used to develop probabilistic cost-of-repair-by-condition curves. A present worth life cycle cost analysis was then performed for various slab sizes, using construction costs, rehabilitation costs, and maintenance costs. Maintenance costs were determined by assuming a condition deterioration rate appropriate for each slab size and applying the cost-by-condition curves. The probabilistic cost-of-repair-by-condition curves indicated that smaller slabs are more expensive to repair on a unit cost basis. Life cycle cost analysis showed that larger slabs have a higher total cost of ownership than smaller slabs due to a faster rate of deterioration.

  • There has been no systematic accumulation in the aircraft weight data even though those are crucial in the full life-cycle weight and balance program of aircraft. Companies, government agencies, and the Korea Air Force have been controling the data separately. The lack of communication between these institutes prevented the mutual use of the data. This study deals with a SE model-based weight and balance program development process for the full life-cycle weight and balance control of aircraft which enabled the efficient and mutual use of the weight data from the various institutes.

Analysis of the Corporate Life Cycle using the Gompertz Model Focused on Korean Pharmaceutical Longevity Companies

  • Purpose: This study aims to figure out the characteristics of corporate life cycle and resource input in terms of the sustainability diagnosis of pharmaceutical companies in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology: Using the Gompertz model under the assumption that companies have finite resources, this study tries quantitative interpretation of life cycle and resource input pattern for longevity companies with 25 years of experience among 158 pharmaceutical companies listed on Korean stock market based on maturity of revenue. Results: The study found revenue maturity through Gompertz model was statistically correlated with enterprise value. According to the life cycle analysis, more than 95% of 59 pharmaceutical companies were in the growth and maturity phase and have an average life cycle of 88 years and an average remaining life of 52 years. Regarding maturity profile of resource input, maturity of employees was generally high more than 60% and this meant there was jobless growth in Korean pharmaceutical industry. Conclusion: This study demonstrated there is a high statistical correlation between the maturity of a company's resource input and its revenue and enterprise value. It is believed that these results could be utilized as a basis for high fidelity function that predict revenue and enterprise value based on resource input information.

  • 최근 세계 각국은 온실가스 배출을 규제하기 위해 전과정평가(LCA, Life Cycle Assessment)를 도입하려는 움직임을 보이고 있다. 전기차 전과정평가는 차량의 전체 수명주기에 걸쳐 발생하는 온실가스 배출량을 측정하고 평가하는 수단이다. 전과정평가 결과의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해서는 전기차 부품별로 신뢰성 있는 데이터가 필요하다. 이를 위해 최근 블록체인 기술을 적용한 전과정평가 모델에 대한 연구들이 수행되었다. 그러나 기존 연구들은 주요 제품 정보들이 다른 참여자들에게 그대로 노출되어 프라이버서 보호가 되지 않는 문제가 있고 부품데이터 정보가 업데이트될 때마다 트랜잭션 형태로 블록체인 원장에 기록해야 해서 비효율적이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 효율적으로 전기차 차량부품 데이터를 수집하고 유효성을 검증하기 위해 전과정평가를 위한 DID 기반의 데이터수집 모델을 제안한다. 제안하는 모델은 수집된 데이터의 유효성과 무결성을 보장하며 블록체인 원장에는 사용자 인증 정보만 공유되어 데이터의 무분별한 노출을 방지하고 데이터의 출처를 효율적으로 검증 및 업데이트할 수 있다.

  • 전통적인 환경에서 데이터 생명주기는 데이터-정보-지식-지혜 전환과정으로 요약된다. 반면에 빅데이터 환경에서 데이터 생명주기는 데이터-통찰-실행 전환과정으로 요약된다. 이러한 전환과정의 차이점은 데이터 생명주기를 지원하는 데이터 자원 관리에도 변화를 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 전통적인 데이터 자원 관리와 비교하여 빅데이터 환경을 위한 데이터 자원 관리를 연구한다. 특히 빅데이터 자원관리를 위한 주요 구성요소를 제안한다.

  • Life cycle assessment(LCA) is acknowledged as a valuable tool to quantify the environment impact of agricultural practice as well as final product(biodiesel) considering whole life cycle of the target product. As a preliminary research of LCA study for rapeseed(Brassica napus L.) biodiesel, the methodological issues which have to be regarded with high priority were dealt with. No life cycle inventory(LCI) based on local data are currently available for LCA of rapeseed cultivation, crushing, and conversion to rapeseed methyl ester(RME) in Korea. In this paper, the life cycle of rapeseed and methodological factors which have to be measured for building LCI of each process are provided and discussed, which are including seed, fertilizer, energy use in rapeseed cultivation environment; and crushing, RME conversion, and transportation in biodiesel production.

여성의 생애주기별 골건강 문제 및 골밀도 영향요인: 2010년 국민건강영양조사 자료 이용 (Problems with Bone Health and the Influencing Factors of Bone Mineral Density in Women across the Life Cycle)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the problem of bone health and potential influencing factors of bone mineral density (BMD) for women across the life cycle of menopause. Methods: Complex sampling design data analysis was performed on the fifth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2010 in order to identify the problems with bone health, BMD and its influencing factors in 3,499 women who answered the menopausal status. Women's life cycle was categorized by premenopausal, postmenopausal, and elderly. Results: 35.1% of premenopausal women, 73.3% of postmenopausal women, and 96.0% of elderly women had problems with bone health that were related to low BMD. Influencing factors of BMD were residential area, alcohol drinking, and body mass index (BMI) for premenopausal women; age, residential area, education, marital status, income, and BMI for postmenopausal women; and age, education, and BMI for elderly women. Conclusion: Problems with bone health required to be considered as a major health problem in all women regardless their life cycle. Interventions to maximize BMD need to be developed by considering its influencingfactors across the women's life cycle.
