  • In this study, a new multimedia data converter is proposed. Also the PC interfacing met hod using the parallel port of is suggested. The image compression/decompression is based on the JPEG algorithm, which is widely used for an effective compression in the image processing industry. The suggested interfacing method is based on the IEEE1284 and IEEE1284.3 protocol, which is a standard in the PC's parallel port interface.

  • A Propeller-Anemometer is an instrument used specifically, to measure the wind speed. The accurate measurement of the wind speed is vitally important such required by any weather stations. In this research, the measurand of the instrumentation was the rotational speed of the propeller and the instrumentation result or output data was wind velocity. The speed measured was recorded digitally in the computer by using specific software. A specific sensor used to measure a variable by converting information of the variable (rotational speed of the propeller) into a dependent signal such as electrical signal in form of voltage. The development of Propeller-Anemometer involved few sets of instrumentation process and equipment. It included three major parts, mechanical, electronics and computer. The main instrumentation processes were physical and signal interfacing, signal conditioning, logic interfacing, data transmission to computer and processing the data. Generally, this paper presents the overall concept and design of Propeller-Anemometer Instrumentation. However, an emphasis was mainly in designing and building the interfacing system, hardware and software. Basically, for the first phase of the development, this project designed and built the RS232 terminal using Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC), PIC16F873. The hardware can be interfaced to computer or other compatible devices. This routine converted input voltage from the circuit to speed (velocity) and transmitted them afterwards to the target device by using the RS232 transmission protocol. This implementation implied a computer display as visual interface. For the purpose of this paper, RS232 data transmission was carried out using a Microsoft Visual Basic software routine.

  • The purpose of this paper is development of portable cardiovascular signal processing device. Beat-to-beat fluctuation in heart rate, respiration, and blood pressure have been known to be meditated by autonomic nervous system activities convergent on various effector organs. This system consists of data acquisition module, main data processing module and graphic LCD module. The data acquisition module is developed for data aquisition, data multiplexing and interfacing with main data processing system. And, main data processing module is developed for data storing, data processing and interfacing with graphic LCD module. The main processing system is based on 32-bit microprocessor.

Content Analysis of Korean-American Women's School-aged Child Rearing on Internet Community (재미 한인 여성의 인터넷 커뮤니티에 나타난 학령기 아동양육에 관한 내용 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the ideas about Korean-American mother's school-age child rearing that are represented on internet community. The method used for this study was content analysis and the data consisted of articles about Korean-American mother's school-age child rearing on a internet community bulletin board during 1 year in 2008. It was found that these articles dealt with problems of practice in interfacing between home and social institutions(Especially school), teaching, counseling, nurturing and disciplining. For example, 831 articles put great emphasis on interfacing between home and social institutions, 339 on teaching, 268 on counseling with children. From these results, we might conclude that many Korean-American mothers gave their children school related care.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the ideas about mother's school-age child rearing that are represented on cyber space. The method used for this study was content analysis and the data consisted of articles about mother's school-age child rearing on the Hitel bulletin board during 1 year in 2003. It was found that these articles dealt with problems of practice in teaching, counseling, nurturing, interfacing between home and social institutions, and disciplining. For example, 410 articles put great emphasis on teaching. 262 on the child's cognitive development, 208 on counseling with children, especially about school related matters, and 127 on interfacing between home and social institutions(especially school), From these results, we might conclude that many mothers gave their children school related care.

  • There are multiple controllers (PLC. LOOP Controller ) which are operating in product line and fabrication line. In those lines, it is necessary to connect various multilple controllers with integrity and coordination. The ways to connect those devices are specified by ISO network standard. In this paper, real time network is designed and implemented for factory automation at lowest possible cost that meets the small and middle size MINI-MAP specifications. Network performance is evaluated by simulation method on data link layer implemented interfacing modules has efficiency in throughput by reducing processing time. The system designed in this paper can be also applied to the field of distributed systems for real time processing.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the ideas about childrearing represented on the cuber space. The method used for this study is the content analysis and the data are articles on the Hitel bulletin board during 1 year. It is found that these articles dealt with problems of practices in the pregnancy-delivery, nurturing, teaching and interfacing between home and social institutions. Especially these articles put great emphasis on nurturing. For example, there are many articles about caring, development, health and hygiene of child. And from 1st to 6th month, there are many articles about nurturing. After 7th month, many articles about teaching and interfacing between home and social institutions are appeared. So from these results we might conclude that many functions of the home are transmitted to society too early.

It was found that then articles dealt with problems of practices in the teaching, nurturing, interfacing between home and social institutions, and disciplining. Especially these articles put great emphasis on teaching. For example, there are many articles about children's cognitive development. And there are many articles about nurturing. Especially child's emotional care. Many articles about interfacing between home and social institutions are appeared. In early childhood, many child go to nursery center. So from these results, we might conclude that many mothers gave their children emotional care. And they didn't teach their children directly. Instead they bought many educational instrument.

근전도신호를 이용한 노약자/장애인용 재활 보조시스템의 인터페이스기법

  • In this paper, an interfacing method to control rehabilitation assitance system with bio-signal is proposed. Controlling with EMG signals method has certain advantage on signal-collecting, but has some drawbacks in the function resolution of EMG signals because data-processing process is not efficient. To improve function-resolution and to increase the efficiency of EMG signal interfacing with rehabilitation assistance system, Multi-layer Perception which is highly effective with static signal and hidden-Markov model for dynamic signal resolving are fused together. In proposed method. The direction and average speed of the rehabilitation assitance system are controlled by the trajectory control and estimation of the moving direction result from the fused model. From the experiment, proposed GMM and 2-level MLP hybrid-classifier yielded 8.6% perception-error rate, improving function resolution. New acceleration control method constructed with 3 nested linear filter produced continuous acceleration paths without the information of destination point. Thus, the mass output caused by non- continuous acceleration-deceleration was eliminated. In the simulation, the necessary calculation, in the case of multiplication, was reduced by 11.54%.
