In this study, we propose a neuro-genetic controller combined with a linear controller in parallel to improve the tracking performance of the Line of Sight(LOS) stabilization system and reject the effect of disturbances. A Genetic Algorithm(GA) is used to optimize weights of the neuro-genetic controller since this algorithm can search a global minimum without derivatives or other auxiliary knowledge. The LOS system is very complex and has limited measurable output data. Under these specific circumstances GA solves many problems that other training methods have. Computer simulation results show that the, proposed controller makes better tracking response and rejection of disturbance than a linear controller.
The desired ZMP is different from the actual ZMP of a humanoid robot during actual walking and stand upright. A humanoid robot must maintain its stable posture although external force is given to the robot. A humanoid robot can know its stability with ZMP. Actual ZMP may be moved out of the foot-print polygons by external disturbance or uneven ground surfaces. If the position of ZMP moves out of stable region, the stability can not be guaranteed. Therefore, The control of the ZMP is necessary. In this paper, ZMP control algorithm is proposed. Herein, the ZMP control uses difference between desired ZMP and actual ZMP. The proposed algorithm gives reaction moment with ankle joint when external force is supplied. 3D simulator shows motion of a humanoid robot and calculated data.

In this paper, an INS compensation algorithm for auto sailing system is proposed, where low cost IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) is used for measuring the accelerometer data. First, we denote the basic INS algorithm with IMU and show that how to compensate the error of position by using low cost IMU. Second, in considering the ship's characteristic and ocean environments, we consider with a factor as a periodic external disturbance which effects to the exact position. To develop the compensation algorithm, we use a repetitive method to reduce the external environment changes. Lastly, we verify the proposed algorithm by using experiments results.

This paper deals with a modified repetitive control method for compensating automatic gauge control (AGC) to reduce the effect of skid mark which directly influence the quality of products in plate mill process. Since the skid mark on the plate have thermal difference, it makes a different stretching rate and deflection of thickness. Firstly, the (AGC) system and the plate mill process are described by considering function in each control levels. The skid mark of the plate in practical control fields is shown. Also, its frequency variation is given by on-line FFT analysis method. Secondly, a key idea of the modified repetitive control method with time varying period disturbance is represented and compared with standard repetitive control method. Lastly, in simulation ...

This paper presents the altitude control of a quadrotor system under the disturbance. The altitude is measured by an ultra sonic sensor attached at the bottom of the quadrotor system and the measured altitude data are used in the time-delayed controller. To test the robustness of the controller, a weight attached to the center of the system is dropped intentionally several times to cause disturbances to the system. Performances of the altitude control by the PID control and time-delayed control method are compared experimentally. Experimental studies are conducted to verify the outperformance of the time-delayed controller for controlling the altitude of the quadrotor system under disturbances.

This paper deals with a position control problem of a hydraulic proportional position control system using a nonlinear friction compensation control. As nonlinear friction, stiction and coulomb friction forces are considered and modeled as deadzone and external disturbance respectively. In order to compensate this nonlinearities, we designed the controller which is the adaptive friction compensator using discrete time Model Reference Adaptive Control method in this paper. Digital Signal Processing board is employed for data acquisition and manipulation. The experimental results show that response is slow and steady-state error cannot be compensated properly without friction compensation but this compensator is effective to obtain fast response and good steady-state response.

Due to the variety of disturbance, it is not ease to accomplish the in-process detection of weld line with non-contact sensor. To get around this difficulties problem develop an automatic seam tracking weld system, the reliable signal processing algorithm has been recommanded. In this research, laser displacement sensor is applied as a seam finder in the automatic tracking system. The sensor is controlled by a dc servo motor which is mounted at X-Y moving table. X-Y moving table manipulated by an ac servo motor controls the position and velocity of the welding torch. First, X-Y table moves to Y-axis to search the welding joint feature before starting the welding, and welding joint is from the scanning data and weighting factor for each other. Second, weld line is determined using proposed signal processing algorithm during welding process. Form the experimental results, we could see the possibility that laser displacement sensor with procesed algorithm can be used as a seam finder in welding process under the severe noise (spatter, arc light etc.) condition
The hydrodynamic instability of the three-dimensional boundary-layer over a rotating disk has been numerically investigated for three cases flows using linear stability theory (i.e. Rossby number, Ro = -1, 0, and 1). Detailed numerical values of the disturbance wave number, wave frequency, azimuth angle, radius (Reynolds number, Re) and other characteristics have been calculated for $K{\acute{a}}rm{\acute{a}}n$, Ekman and $B{\"{o}}ewadt$ boundary-layer flows. Neutral curves for these flows are presented. Presented are the neutral stability results concerning the two instability modes (Type I and Type II) by using a two-point boundary value problem code COLUEW that was based upon the adaptive orthogonal collocation method using B-spline. The prediction from the present results on both instability modes among the three cases agrees with the previously known numerical and experimental data well.
Hard disk drived (HDD) in computer are used extensively as data storage capacity. The trend in the computer industry to produce smaller disk drives rotating at higher speeds requires an improved understanding of fluid motion in the space between disks. The distribution of pressure disturbance on disks has relation to flow structure. To investigate the flow structure, time-resolved hot-wire measurements of the circumferential velocity component were obtained for the flow between the center pair of four disks of common radius $R_2$ coretating at angular velocity ${\Omega}$ in a fixed cylindrical enclosure. Hot-wire supporter acts as an obstruction in this case. The effects of rotating speed and size of hot-wire supporter diameter between disks on the flow driven by disks were investigated. Velocity spectra at the fixed space were measured to obtain the structure of inner and outer region in flow field.
A subspace-based identification method of the Wiener model, consisting of a state-space linear block and a polynomial static nonlinearity at the output, is used to retrieve from discrete sample data the accurate information about the nonlinear dynamics. Wiener model may be incorporated into model predictive control (MPC) schemes in a unique way which effectively removes the nonlinearity from the control problem, preserving many of the favorable properties of linear MPC. The control performance is evaluated with simulation studies where the original first-principles model for a continuous MMA polymerization reactor is used as the true process while the identified Wiener model is used for the control purpose. On the basis of the simulation results, it is demonstrated that, despite the existence of unmeasured disturbance, the controller performed quite satisfactorily for the control of polymer qualities with constraints.
