데이터 병렬루프를 가지는 사이리스터 컨버터의 PID 점호각 제어 (Firing Angle Control of Thyristor Converter using PID Controller with Parallel Data Loop)

  • 본 논문에서는 직류 전력을 공급하기 위한 사이리스터 컨버터의 출력 응답특성을 개선하기 위해 데이터 병렬 루프를 가지는 PID 제어 방식을 제안한다. 제안된 방식에서 사이리스터 컨버터의 점호각은 부하전류와 지령전압에 따라 결정된 점호각을 제어기와 병렬로 연결된 데이터 루프에서 발생하고, 이 점호각에 의해 발생하는 출력전압의 오차를 PID 제어기에서 보상하여 제어하는 방식이다. 제안된 방식의 실제적인 적용에서, 부하전류에 의해 병렬 데이터 루프의 점호각이 급격하게 변동하는 것을 억제하기 위해 간단한 디지털 저역통과 필터를 통하여 부하전류와 지령전압의 크기에 따라 룩-업 테이블 방식의 점호각이 결정되도록 설계하였다. 제안된 방식은 50[A]급의 사이리스터컨버터 실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

  • This paper presents a maximum power point tracking(MPPT) of photovoltaic system with duty ratio of DC-DC converter considered load. A variation of solar irradiation is most important factor in the MPPT of PV system That is nonlinear, aperiodic and complicated. NN was widely used due to easily solving a complex math problem. The paper consists of solar radiation source, DC-DC converter, DC motor and load(cf, pump). NN algorithm apply to DC-DC converter through an adaptive control of neural network, calculates converter-duty ratio using an adaptive control of NN. The results of an adaptive control of NN compared with the results of converter-duty ratio which are calculated mathematical modeling and evaluate the proposed algorithm. The experimental data show that an adequacy of the algorithm was established through the compared data.

  • There are two cases of error occurrence of STT(Smart Temperature Transmitter). One is that because of unstable reference voltage, data from A/D converter is not reliable. The other is that because of change of room temperature, this change affects conversion of A/D converter. In this paper, we show algorithms be adapted to STT for reliable conversion of A/D converter through a experiment and compensation for temperature change. In a experiment, we collect data from reference voltage and ground then calculate nominal value of these at constant temperature during A/D converter initialization or at any conversion time. Algorithm for compensation for unstable reference voltage calculates a correction factor and adapts it to compensation for malfunction of A/D converter. Algorithm for compensation for variation of room temperature is come from linearization of thermistor but is adapted to zener diode, not thermistor, therefor we have less effort for compensation for temperature and have a idea that it can be adapted to A/D converter system.

  • In this paper, a PC-based virtual measuring program for efficiency analysis of DC-DC converter is developed. Furthermore, a newly developed, highly accurate and reliable data acquisition system for DC-DC converter is presented. The virtual measuring system consists of two different types of monitoring and measuring system. Also, this paper give a full explanation for a LabVIEW realization of the measuring system for DC-DC converter.

  • In this paper, a new structure of realizing switching control logic for Data Weighted Average Technique is suggested. It uses memory and adder for summing past binary input and this summed data is used to select one switch in control logic. This control logic acts in parallel regardless of resolution so increasing resolution don't affect on converting speed. In this reason, high speed and high resolution D/A converter based on Data Weighted Average Technique could be made. In this paper, 4 bits current mode thermometer code D/A converter is degined and simulated by using HSPICE. Simulated results show that new structure of D/A converter has more than 250MHz converting speed and less than 0.0003[LSB] INL error. It is very useful in low power circuit because of using 3.3 V supply voltage.

The Study of Overtopping Wave Energy Converter Control and Monitoring System

  • This paper describes the control and monitoring system for OWEC (Overtopping Wave Energy Converter) which shows the characteristic of power stabilization in overtopping wave energy converter system. Overtopping waves generates different water pressure and the turbine is rotated by this pressure. As a result, overtopping wave energy converter is able to convert wave energy into electricity. Small size of overtopping wave energy converter is developed to simulate the control monitoring system which is able to control power generation and also monitor the system condition. The result shows the reduction of fluctuation from the overtopping wave energy system by the developed control monitoring system. In addition, the DB(Data Base) of test results are contributed to the research and development for OWEC.

  • In the present study, a transient incompressible viscous turbulent flow is simulated for the automotive torque converter with moving mesh technique. For the analysis, entire torque converter flow passages are modeled. Computed torque ratio, capacity factor and efficiency show a good agreement with the experiment data. The flow instabilities characterized by back-flow and wake etc. appeared in some cascade passages are shown to be Propagating along tangential direction. These flow patterns are mainly influenced by the pump and turbine blade passing and can't be predicted through conventional steady simulation with a mixing plane approach. The understanding of the unsteady flow characteristics in a torque converter achieved in the present study may lead to the optimal design of a torque converter.

  • In order to decrease the size of a switch mode power supply, high switching frequency can be an efficient way to reduce the size of passive components in the converter. In this paper, a 500-kHz high-frequency LLC resonant converter is proposed with an accurate design method of magnetizing inductance, as well as the relationship between the switching frequency and the size of the passive components. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the proposed methods and equations, including the temperature data of each passive and active device of the converter. Using those results, dominant power losses in the prototype converter under 500-kHz high-frequency operation are investigated, compared with the results from a 100-kHz converter. In addition, operating waveforms and power conversion efficiency will be shown to obtain design considerations for the high switching frequency LLC resonant converter.
