유기발광 소자의 수송층 두께 변화에 따른 수치적 해석 (Numerical Analysis of OLED Luminescence Efficiency by Hole Transport Layer Change)

  • The OLED research is gone for two directions. One is material development research, and another one is structural improvement part. All two are thing to heighten luminescence efficiency of OLED. n other to improve luminescence efficiency of OLED Electron - hole pairs must consist much more in the device Their profiles are sensitive to mobility velocity of electrons and holes. In this paper, we demonstrate the difference of velocity between hole and electron by experiments, and compare with a data of simulation and experiment changing hole carrier transport layer thickness, so we get the optimal we improve luminescence efficiency. We suggest improving the efficiency of OLEDS would be to balance the injection of electrons and holes into light emission layer of the device. And, we improve understanding of the various luminescence efficiency through experiments and numerical analysis of luminescence efficiency in variable hole carrier transport layer's thickness.

  • The studies on OLED(Organic Light-Emitting Diode) materials and structures have been researched in other to improve luminescence efficiency of OLED. Electrons and holes are injected into the devices, transported across the layer and recombine to form excitons, their profiles are sensitive to mobility velocity of electrons and holes. A suggested means of improving the efficiency of LEDs would be to balance the injection of electrons and holes into light emission layer of the device. In this paper, we demonstrate the difference of velocity between hole and electron by experiments, and compare with a data of simulation and experiment changing hole carrier transport layer thickness, so we get the optimal we improve luminescence efficiency.   • The purpose of this research is to develop the model of turbulence modulation due to the presence of particles in various types of particle-laden flows. Available experimental data were surveyed and the dependence of turbulence modulation of carrier-phase on particle size, concentration and particle Reynolds number were examined. This study takes into account the effect of wake produced by particle, the drag between phases and the velocity gradient in the wake to estimate the production of turbulence. The model of turbulence modulation using the mixing length theory under the assumption of equilibrium flow is proposed. Numerical results show that the model is successful in predicting the characteristics of the particle-laden flow in various conditions both qualitatively and quantitatively.

CFD Application for Prediction of Ship Added Resistance in Waves

  • This paper deals with the added resistance of a ship in waves using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The ship added resistance is one of the key considerations in the design of energy-efficient ship. In this study, the added resistance of a LNG carrier in head waves is computed using a CFD code to consider the nonlinearity and the viscous effects. The unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equation (RANS) is numerically solved and the volume of fluid (VOF) approach is used to simulate the free surface flows. The length of incident wave varies from half the ship length to twice the ship length. To investigate the nonlinearity effect, both the linear wave condition and the nonlinear wave condition are considered. The heave and pitch motions are calculated along with the added resistance, and the wave contours are obtained. Grid convergence test is conducted thoroughly to achieve the converged motion and resistance values. The calculated results are compared and validated with experimental data.

Supramax Bulk Carrier Market Forecasting with Technical Indicators and Neural Networks

  • Supramax bulk carriers cover a wide range of ocean transportation requirements, from major to minor bulk cargoes. Market forecasting for this segment has posed a challenge to researchers, due to complexity involved, on the demand side of the forecasting model. This paper addresses this issue by using technical indicators as input features, instead of complicated supply-demand variables. Artificial neural networks (ANN), one of the most popular machine-learning tools, were used to replace classical time-series models. Results revealed that ANN outperformed the benchmark binomial logistic regression model, and predicted direction of the spot market with more than 70% accuracy. Results obtained in this paper, can enable chartering desks to make better short-term chartering decisions.

  • It is suggested that the PWM inverter is controlled by Digital Software Programming. VVVF(Variable Voltage Variable Frequency) inverter control being used by PWM control for driving the motor with speed-varying, makes the PWM pattern with calculating the output voltage and frequency, and with controlling the carrier and signal, so actually this method is difficult to correspond with driving the motor by using voltage-varying and frequency-varying. Therefore this research suggested the new algorithm controlled by micro processor which is already stored by various PWM form of output voltage by using fundamental data of the carrier and signal. The PWM wave can be controlled with real time by using extra hardware and digital software and to speed up program processing, the control signals to switch the power semi-conductor of three phase PWM inverter, simultaneously use the output signal by microprocessor and extra hardware, and control signal by software. In the end, this method was proved by applying to Three Phase Voltage-type Inverter.

FRP폐기물 재활용을 위한 미생물 담체 제조 기술 개발 (A Manufacturing Technology Development of Microbe Carrier)

  • The purpose of this paper is to obtain the data for manufacturing of microbe carriers as a method of FRP waste recycling technology. Since FRP waste is polymer, the experiment of the thermogravity analyzing was carried out to find thermal behavior. After that, microbe carriers were prepared from waste FRP powder, which had been decomposed, milled, and mixed with clay as a binder and CaCO3 as a flux and a loaming agent, respectively. finally it was made by filing of the sample up to 1,05$0^{\circ}C$. It was investigated how the variation of the additives and firing temperature effect apparent density, water absorption and micro structure.

  • RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system is applied to identify, locate and track people, cars, animals. Passive RFID system consists of reader and tag. The reader transmits a carrier signal, receives the backscattering signal, performs data processing. The tag is energized by carrier signal that is transmitted from the reader and the information stored in the tag is transmitted back to the reader. In this paper, the design and analysis of the 125kHz RFID system is presented and is confirmed through experiment.

  • It is important to understand the flow characteristics such as wave and wake development around a ship for the design of the hull forms with better resistance and propulsive performance. The experimental results explicating the local flow characteristics are also invaluable for validation of the physical and numerical modeling of CFD codes, which are recently gaining acknowledgements as efficient tools for hull form evaluation This paper describes velocity and wave profiles measured in the towing tank for the KRISO 138K LNG Carrier (KLNG) model with propeller and rudder. The results contained in this paper can provide the valuable information on the effect of propeller and rudder on stern flow characteristics of the modern commercial hull form, furthermore, the present experimental data will provide important database for CFO validation.
