Recognition of 3-Dimensional Environment for a Mobile Robot Using Structured Light (Structured Light을 이용한 이동 로보트의 3차원 환경인식)

  • In this paper, a robust and simple structured light sensory system has been studied to endow mobile robots with the ability of navigating in real world. A mobile robot with this sensor can be applied in two ways: first, real time navigation in 3-dimensional world, second, modeling and recognition of environment. Range data obtained with this sensor are fairy accurate, and the data aquisition speed is satisfactory. Experiments in diverse situation show effectiveness of the structured light sensor for the mobile robot.

  • In this paper, we introduce the hardware of the measuring system for on-line test and evaluation of high speed rail. It is composed of 6 DAMs(Data Aquisition modules), 2 monitoring modules and 1 main computer. Each of DAMs is connected many kinds of sensors, such as accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges, volt meters, current meter, odermeter, and measures the signals from sensors, saves it and displays it on the displayer. Two monitoring modules monitor the major signals transferred from DAMs. A main computer controls 4 DAMs(DAM1, DAM2, DAM31 and DAM32) and 2 monitoring modules and also monitors the major signals transferred from DAMs.

  • geoContents have been closely related with personal life since the Google Earth and Street View by Google and the Road View by Daum were introduced. So, Location-based content, which is referred to geoContents, involving geometric spacial information and location-based image information is a sharp rise in demand. A mobile mapping system used in the area of map upgrade and road facility management has been having difficulties in satisfying the demand in the cost and time for obtaining these kinds of contents. This paper addresses geoData acquisition and processing system for producing panoramic images. The system consists of 3 devices: the first device is 3 GPS receivers for acquiring location information which is including position, attitude, orientation, and time. The second is 6 cameras for image information. And the last is to synchronize the both data. The geoData acquired by the proposed system and the method for authoring geoContents which are referred to a panoramic image with position, altitude, and orientation will be used as an effective way for establishing the various location-based content and providing them service area.

Automatic Depth Control System for Tractor Implement (트랙터 작업기의 경심 자동제어시스템)

  • To control depth of tractor implement, an automatic depth control system based upon microcomputer was developed. This system consists of data aquisition system to measure and to record travel speed, draft and depth of the implement, hydraulic system to control the implement depth and 3-point hitch to attach the implement. Program, written in C language, was able to select position control, draft control and mixed control. To analyze parameters affecting this system, the performance of the system was evaluated through use of computer simulation and verified in soil bin experiments. 3-point hitch was lifted by hydraulic pressure and lowered by implement weight. Dead band was one of the important factors which affect the stability and the accuracy of the system. The system became unstable when the flow rate was increased or when the dead band was decreased. The position control mode with on-off control showed the great ability to control the implement at the given plowing depth. With the draft control, the tractor load could be reduced, however the plowing depth was changed unexpectedly when the soil was hard and inconsistent. The mixed control could improve the performance of the system to maintain the plowing depth without overload of the tractor.

  • With the development of the society, pure electric vehicles will be surely important of the future. Electric vehicle requires various technology like motor driving, battery management, operational efficiencies and so on. Battery management is indeed the most important to enhance battery's performance and life. This paper has deeply discussed and studied on the lithium-polymer battery management system of pure electric vehicle. First of all we have analyzed the characteristic of the lithium-polymer batteries and the factors influenced on the state of charge. Then a logical SOC measuring method has been raised, which is the combination of open circuit voltage and Ah integration. The next we will introduce the design of battery management system, the battery management system performs many functions, such as inspecting the whole process, when it's running cell equalization protecting and diagnosing the battery, estimating the state of charge. The module design style including microcontroller, data aquisition module, charging control module and serial communication module. To arrive at conclusions, the battery management system which this paper has introduced is reliable and economical.

  • There are currently tremendous amount of geotechnical information saved, which has been qcquired for essential application of site selection, plan, design, constructin, repari in the builing work. However, due to the lack of the location data attribute, there has been a trouble in its analysis and GIS implementation. In this study, the geotechnical information aquisition program(PGeo) for real-time database in the field and geotechnical information reporting program(GeoReport) by Web-GIS for additional data input and its reporting function has been developed.

  • The DCPD(Direct Current Potential Drop) method has been adopted for the crack measurement of a structure. The objective of this paper is to develop a multi-channel DCPD system not only for detecting crack depth, but also for determining the accurate shape of the surface crack. For this purpose, an exclusive software was also developed. In order to verify the developed DCPD system it was initially tested on a CT specimen, and subsequently was applied to a wide plate specimen. The developed multi-channel DCPD system was proven to provide an efficient and accurate measurement of a surface crack during the crack growth.

  • Hybrid rockets have many advantages over solid and liquid rockets. Hybrid rockets put forth high $I_{sp}$ like liquid rockets in spite of simple structure and low cost. As oxidizer flow rate is increased, thrust of hybrid rocket is increased accordingly. In this study, lab-scale hybrid rocket is designed, fabricated and tested. This system consists of lab-scale hybrid rocket motor, ignition system, flow system and data aquisition system. In order to control oxidizer flow rate, we construct flow rate control system by using needle valve and stepping motor.

  • 본 논문은 그루빙(grooving),타이닝(tinning),텍스쳐(texture) 등의 포장 도로의 표면 상태를 고성능의 레이저 변위센서를 사용하여 정밀하게 측정하고, 측정한 표면 상태를 객관적으로 평가하는 장비 개발에 관한 논문이다. 본 논문에서는 실제 평가 장비 차량을 만들기에 앞서 전체 시스템을 설계하고, 실내에서 차량과 도로의 모사 장비를 만들어 실험하였다. 본 실험에서는 오실로스코프와 DAQ (Data Aquisition) 보드를 사용하였다. LabView로 선호처리 프로그래밍을 하여 컴퓨터 화면에 GUI 형태로 나타내었다. 측정 데이터는 컴퓨터의 저장 공간에 저장하여 후처리를 가능하게 하였다. 또한, 실제 평가 장비 차량에 장착하게 될, GPS(Global Positioning System) 시스템으로 부터 실시간으로 평가 장비 차량의 이동거리 데이터를 얻었다. 실험 결과 차량이 80km/h로 주행할 때 도로 표면 타이닝의 폭과 깊이가 평균 9.67% 오차를 보였으며, 이동거리는 0.03% 이내의 오차를 보여 만족할 만한 결과를 얻었다.

  • Because of the increasing demand on the high precision and high response of a machinery, proportional control valves are widely adopted at various application fields. This paper studies on the static and dynamic characteristics of a pilot proportional pressure control valve. An experimental apparatus including hydraulic pump, variable speed inverter, pressure and flow sensors and data aquisition system was set up. And various experiments such as P-Q-V curves, step responses due to input voltage and flow rate, hysteresis, frequency response of the proportional valve was carried out and the results are discussed.
