By process of treatment for a case which diagnosed as spinal cord infarction and admitted from the 18th, April, 2000 to the 29th, July, 2000, the result are as foilows. Method and Results : In the earlier days of admission, this patient was diagnosed as damp-heat(濕熱) and was dosed with Cheongjo-tang. In medication, weakness in upper and lower limbs of the patient was improving. After diagnosed as Taeyangin, the patient was dosed with Ogapijangchuk-tang and punctured with Taeyangin Taegeuk-chim and Sagae-chim. As the result, Weakness in upper and lower limbs are improved remarkably. Conclusion : The prognosis of patients diagnosed spinal cord infarction is not so good. But, in the case of this patient, power and sense of four limbs improved remarkably through oriental medical treatment with rehabilitative therapy.

Objectives : To research the study related to acnes with acupuncture In literature, and to establish the hereafter direction of treating acnes with acupuncture. Methods : We searched oriental medical literature, PubMed, NDSL and 1055 related to acne and acupuncture. Results : 1 Among the meridians, the Large Intestine Meridian, the Stomach Meridian, the Bladder Meridian and the Spleen Meridian were commonly used. 2. Among acupuncture point, Zusanli(ST36), Quchi(LI11) and Sanyinjiao(SP6) were mostly used. 3. The methods are focused on expelling wind-damp, heat-clearing, blood-harmony, transport function of stomach and spleen. 4. Auricular acupressure were used on Naebunbijeom, Pijihajeom, Pejeom and Shinmun.

In oriental medicine bladder cancer had been called '溺血(Hematuria)', 血淋(Blood Stranguria)', 濕熱河注(Downward Flow of Damp-heat)' and so on. The symptoms are Hematuria, Oliguria, Lower abdomen pain, febrile sensation and Anemia etc. These are similar to the symptoms of bladder cancer by modem medicine. I have experienced a bladder cancer patient who was diagnosed as stage Ⅲ. She has been treated bladder cancer with Immunity herbal acupuncture and Her clinical and objective symptoms have been better. Therefore I report this results.

We treated a 53 year-old male patient. He had alcoholic liver cirrhosis and diabetes. The main symptoms were fatigue, ascites, edema, anorexia, indigestion, constipation, and abdominal pain. We diagnosed him as 'the retention of pathogenic damp-heat in the liver and gall bladder’ and adminstered Saenggangeonbi-tang three times a day. We observed clinical symptoms, liver function test(AST, ALT, ${\gamma}-GT$, ALP, total bilirubin), nutritional state(total protein, albumin) and capillary blood glucose. After treatment, all the main symptoms disappeared and the patient's nutritional state has improved. Child's grade using the improvement index in liver cirrhosis has changed from B to A. Although the very mechanism of Saenggangeonbi-tang was not proven, we could suggest that Saenggangeonbi-tang is not toxic to the liver and has a good effect on alcoholic liver cirrhosis with diabetes mellitus.

The Radix of Gentiana macrophylla (Gentianaceae) has been used for dispelling wind-damp, relaxing the sinews, and clearing heat from deficiency. In order to evaluate its quality, the method for the quantitative determination of gentiopicroside as standard compound has been developed. Gentiopicroside was a major compound of Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix. It was analyzed by HPLC using 30% MeOH as a solvent system. The amount of gentiopicroside from Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix was in the range of $2.22{\pm}1.22%\;(n=18)$.

This study investigates the degradation characteristics of different material types of ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA) and polyolefin (POE) with combining transparent backsheet. To this end, we fabricated samples with structure of glass/encapsulant/transparent backsheet for each type of encapsulants, and shingled Si modules with the same structure. The samples were then subjected to accelerated test by storing under damp heat condition of 85℃ and 85% RH. As a result, encaplsulant discoloration was observed, which the transmittance of the samples with EVA decreased in a rapid rate than the samples with POE. The discoloration also affected a power degradation of the shingled modules with a reduction of current density, resulting that the module with EVA showed more drop on the efficiency than the modules with POE. Furthermore, corrosion of the soldered ribbon caused by acetic acid produced from the degraded EVA also contributed in fill factor reduction.

We report the case of an 18-year-old woman with a 6-year history of widespread facial plane warts that had proved resistant to repeated treatments with laser therapy and imiquimod cream. The patient had recurrent lesions, which subsequently resolved with treatment. We diagnosed the case as heat and blood stasis and qi deficiency damp stagnation. Treatment with herb medication and herbal external wet dressing was initiated. During the 4-month treatment period, the warts resolved gradually. At 4 months follow up, there were no recurrent lesions and no other adverse effects.

In this paper, we examined 10 domestic samples of three different model using thermal, humidity freeze, thermal-endurance and damp heat test under IEC61215 photovoltaic module environmental endurance test condition. Three was almost no changes on power generation. Insulation resistance capacity was much higher than judgement standard but, showed unstable results depending on environmental test items. On external appearance test, there were two models which showed bubble, humidity penetration, seal melted frame phenomenon. From this results, the degree of aging under the external environment is a main cause that shortens photovoltaic module life time. So it is considered that the efforts for finding optimum condition of manufacturing process should be needed.

In clinical practice, Psoriasis is commomly difficult to be completely cured that only repeats improvement and to be worsen. We experienced one case of Psoriasis patient who had had generalized expoliative Psoriasis for more than one year. After hospitalization treatment of ten days and outpatient treatment of three months, he's chief complain improved continuously and there was not worsen sign any more. So, He could return to his usual life, We still did't know the mechanism that Saengkankunbi-Tang brought his improvement by, but we think that more case studies are necessary focusing on damp-heat because of much drinking for long time and years of duration of skin disease.

By process of treatment for a case which diagnosed as suppurative arthritis and admitted from the 5th, October, 1999 to the 15th, November, 1999, the results are as follows. Method & Results : In the earlier days of admission, this patient was diagnosed as damp-heat(濕熱) and medicated Cheongyeolsaseup-tang(qingrexieshi-tang). As the result, heating, pain in both knees and heating in both lmees are improved. In the later days of admission, this patient was diagnosed as impairment of the liver and kidney(肝腎虛損) and medicated Samgi-eum(sanqi-yin). As the reslut, weakness in lower limbs is improved. Conclusion : I consider that the rate of recovery for other infectious diseases including suppurative arthritis can be maximized by accumulation of clinical experiences and continuous research through both western medical treatment and oriental medical treatment.
