생태복원용 소재로서 현지자원의 이용가능성 파악을 위한 발아실험 연구 (Seed Germination Study to Determine the Feasibility of Local Resources as Materials for Ecological Restoration)

  • The study was conducted to develop ecological restoration method of damaged area in DMZ vicinities. As the material for the ecological restoration, forest soil and trees waste have been used. Forest soils were collected for experiments in Yanggu, Gangwon Province. Effect of ecological restoration was analyzed through germination experiment. Germination experiment was performed using 12 kinds of woody and herbaceous seeds. Woody and herbaceous seed germination in test pot was relatively evenly. Mixed material consisting of forest soil and trees waste seemed a possibility as the material for the restoration. The effects on seed germination were higher in the case of mixing more than 70% by volume ratio of local resources. Total number germinated individuals were different depending on the mixing ratio of soil sampling depth. Individual plants showed different trends depending on the experimental combination. Results of the woody seed germination were affected only in the soil sampling depth. Seed germination of herbaceous received a combined effect on soil sampling depth and mixing ratio.

Flour Quality Characteristics of Korean Waxy Wheat Lines

  • Flour physicochemical properties of six Korean waxy wheat lines and their parental plants, including Kanto 107 and BaiHuo, which have partially null in GBSS (granule bound starch synthase), were evaluated in this study. The very low amylose content (3.20%) of Korean waxy wheat lines, which had been influenced by the null in all three GBSS isoforms encoded by three Wx loci, could result in the higher starch swelling power (25.15%), lower starch and flour pasting temperature (61.37$^{\circ}C$; 65.85$^{\circ}C$), and higher starch pasting peak viscosity and breakdown (246.60 RVU; 161.50 RVU) than those of their parental plants. In addition to high swelling and pasting properties, Korean waxy wheat lines had the higher protein content (12.80%), alkaline water retention capacity (97.39%), SDS sedimentation volume (80.33 $m\ell$) and damaged starch content (4.35 %) than those of their parental plants.

Research on damage of 3D random aggregate concrete model under ultrasonic dynamic loading

  • Concrete are the most widely used manmade materials for infrastructure construction across the world. These constructions gradually aged and damaged due to long-term use. However, there does not exist an efficient concrete recycling method with low energy consumption. In this study, concrete was regarded as a heterogeneous material composed of coarse aggregate and cement mortar. And the failure mode of concrete under ultrasonic dynamic loading was investigated by finite element (FE) analysis. Simultaneously, a 3D random aggregate concrete model was programmed by APDL and imported into ABAQUS software, and the damage plastic constitutive model was applied to each phase to study the damage law of concrete under dynamic loading. Meanwhile, the dynamic damage process of concrete was numerically simulated, which observed ultrasonic propagating and the concrete crushing behavior. Finally, the FE simulation considering the influence of different aggregate volume and aggregate size was carried out to illustrate the damage level of concrete.

  • As soft grounds have complex engineering properties that the load bearing capacity is low and high compressibility, it needs to solve this problems prior to structures are constructed by the method of improvement of soft ground. Generally, the sand mat is used to as a horizontal drain material and loading base for soft ground improvement work. However, as the natural environment can be damaged by sand pickings of large quantity and the volume which is enormous and an amount of demanded sand is increased, it is state of short in supply. This paper presents the result of field experimental test to use Precious Slag Ball to solve these issues instead of sand mat as the replacing material. This study evaluated the performance of Precious Slag Ball as a sand mat in terms of discharge capacity, settlement, and settlement through the K-Embank program.

Freon Gas흡착 및 열처리에 의한 담배조직의 물리적, 역학적 특성변화연구 (Changes in Physical and Mechanical Properties of Freon-Adsorbed and Heat - Treated Leaf Tobacco)

  • In the tobacco industry, it is important to study the change of mechanical property occurring the expansion process. The purpose of this study is to attain basic data for development of a tobacco expansion method. 1 . Freon gas was adsorbed to tobacco under various conditions of temperature, relative humidity and pressure, and then the amount of freon gas adsorbed was analyzed by GC. Freon adsorption rate of Burley 21 was more than that of By104 at the same condition and about 17 $\pm$ 1% moisture content produced better adsorption rate. 2. Freon adsorbed sample were heated to about $150^{circ}C\;to\;230^{\circ}C$ in a drying oven and recycle duct form about 2 to 30 seconds, and then the change of mechanical property were measured. Heated leaf was damaged when the tissue was pressed by the force of above $0.5x10^8dyn/cm^2$. The optimum condition of no damage of the sample was below the temperature of 15$0^{\circ}C$ and heating time of 10 seconds. It was more economically advantages to treated sample in a recycle duct than to be in a drying oven. By this process, the specific volume of the heated sample was increased from 80 to 110 percent in comparison to that of untreated sample.

Research on eccentric compression of ultra-high performance fiber reinforced concrete columns

  • To study the eccentric compression behavior of ultra-high performance fiber reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) columns, six UHPFRC columns and one high-strength concrete (HSC) column were tested. Variation parameters include load eccentricity, volume of steel fibers and stirrup ratio. The crack pattern, failure mode, bearing capacity, and deformation of the specimens were studied. The results showed that the UHPFRC columns had different failure modes. The large eccentric compression failure mode was the longitudinal tensile reinforcements yielded and many horizontal cracks appeared in the tension zone. The small eccentric compression failure mode was the longitudinal compressive reinforcements yielded and vertical cracks appeared in the compressive zone. Because of the bridging effect of steel fibers, the number of cracks significantly increased, and the width of cracks decreased. The load-deflection curves of the UHPFRC columns showed gradually descending without sudden dropping, indicating that the specimens had better deformation. The finite element (FE) analysis was performed to stimulate the damage process of the specimens with monotonic loading. The concrete damaged plasticity (CDP) model was adopted to characterize the behaviour of UHPFRC. The contribution of the UHPFRC tensile strength was considered in the bearing capacity, and the theoretical calculation formulas were derived. The theoretical calculation results were consistent with the test results. This research can provide the experimental and theoretical basis for UHPFRC columns in engineering applications.

Assessment of shear resistance of corroded beams repaired using SFRC in the tension zone

  • This study experimentally and analytically investigates the shear behavior of corroded reinforced concrete (RC) beams repaired using steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC) in the flexural zone. The experimental parameters are the corrosion degree (0%, 12%, and 17%) and the steel fiber volume in the SFRC (1.0%, 1.5%, and 2.0%). The test results reveal that corrosion degree significantly affects the shear resistance of the beams. The shear capacity of the beam with the corrosion degree of 17% was higher than that of the uncorroded beam, whereas the shear capacity of the beam with the corrosion degree of 12% was lower than that of the uncorroded beam. The shear efficiency of damaged beams can be recovered by repairing them using SFRC that contains a reasonable amount of steel fibers. In addition, two methods to estimate the shear capacity of the repaired beams are developed using the modified truss analogy and strut-and-tie models. The estimated shear capacity of the beam using the modified truss analogy model agrees well with the experimental data.

냉동보관 후 이식한 지방조직의 생물학적 변화와 생존에 관한 연구 (A Study for the Biologic Changes and Viability of Adipose tissue in Cryopreserved Fat Graft)

  • Purpose: Adipose tissue injection as a free graft for the correction of soft - tissue deficiency or depression deformity is a widespread procedure in plastic surgery. This study is to analyze the changes and viability of cryopreserved adipose tissue and to find out efficient long - term storage period. Methods: After centrifugation of aspirated abdominal tissues, $10m{\ell}$ of packed Adipose tissue were freezed at $-20^{\circ}C$. For 2, 4, 6, 8 months, each frozen samples were taken and injected into scalp of SCID mice. After 15 weeks, injected Adipose tissue were sampled and analyzed at 2 months interval. We compared and analyzed each group about the weight of the injected fat, histologic impressions, activity of mitochondria, size of a fat cell and rate of survival. Results: Significant weight changes were observed in cryopreservation for 2 months(p<0.05). Histologic changes were observed, independent of the freezing period with H - E stain. Among cryopreservations for 2, 4, 6 months, no significant change were observed. The reduction of mitochondrial enzymatic activity was observed independent of time interval but activity of mitochondrial dehydrogenase was reduced less than 50% in MTT assay. Conclusion: Freezing in $-20^{\circ}C$ for 6 months has no adverse effect to Adipose tissue, but fragile adipocytes, damaged cell membrane during harvesting procedure, were disrupted within 1 - 2 month and the maximum volume reduction were followed less than 2 months. These results demonstrate that tissue preparation cells without membrane damage have the greatest viability level and cryopreservation less than 2 months has great volume effect and cryopreservation for 6 months has stable volume effect.

기계환기로 인한 백서의 급성 폐손상에서 Matrix Metalloproteinase Inhibitor의 효과 (Effects of Matrix Metalloproteinase Inhibitor on Ventilator-Induced Lung Injury in Rats)

  • 배 경 : Matrix metalloproteinase(MMPs), 특히 주로 염증세포에서 분비되는 MMP-9은 여러 가지 급성폐손상 모델 및 급성호흡곤란증후군 환자에서 증가하고, 최근에는 주기적인 물리적 스트레스가 폐포대식세포 및 결체조직세포에서 MMP-9의 생성 및 활성을 증가시키는 것으로 보고된 바 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기계환기로 인한 백서의 급성폐손상에서 MMP-9의 발현 및 MMP 억제제(MMPI)의 효과에 대해서 연구하고자 하였다. 방 법 : Sprague-Dawley 백서를 적은 일호흡량(tidal volume, $V_T$)과 적절한 호기말양압(positive end-expiratory pressure, PEEP)을 적용한 LVT군과 많은 일호흡량과 PEEP을 적용하지 않은 HVT군 및 동일한 조건에서 MMPI를 투여한 HVT+MMPI의 세 군으로 나누어 실험하였다. MMPI로는 CMT-3(chemically modified tetracycline-3)를 기계환기 3일 전부터 구강으로 투약하였다. 폐손상의 정도는 습건중량비와 급성 폐손상지수로 측정하였고, MMP-9의 발현은 면역조직화학염색으로 고찰하였다. 결 과 : 습건중량비, 급성 폐손상지수 및 MMP-9의 발현이 HVT 군에서 다른 두군에 비하여 유의하게 높았고(p<0.05), HVT+MMP군에서 HVT군에 비하여 폐손상의 정도 및 MMP-9의 발현이 현저하게 낮았다(p<0.05). 결과적으로 MMPI의 투여가 MMP-9의 발현을 저하시킴으로써 기계환기로 인한 폐손상의 정도를 유의하게 감소시키는 것으로 관찰되었다 결 론 : 많은 일호흡량과 PEEP을 적용치 않은 기계환기는 폐조직에서 MMP-9의 발현을 유의하게 증가시켜 폐손상을 유발하고, MMPI는 MMP-9의 작용을 억제함으로써 기계환기로 인한 폐손상의 정도를 유의하게 감소시키는 것으로 판단된다.

익국환과 익국보화환의 실험적(實驗的) 간경변(肝硬變)에 대(對)한 효과(效果) (Effects of Ikgukwhan and Ikgukbowhawhan on the Production of Collagen and the Regeneration of Liver Cells Damaged by Bile Duct Ligation and Dimethylnitrosamine)

  • 간경변(肝硬變)은 각종(各種) 만성미만성간염(慢性彌滿性肝炎)이나 광범위(廣範圍)한 간장실질(肝臟實質)의 손상(損傷)이 계속적(繼續的)으로 발전(發展)하여 이루어진 결과(結果)이다. 주(主)된 병리적(病理的) 특징(特徵)은 간세포(肝細胞)의 변성(變成), 괴사(壞死) 후(後)에 나타나는 섬유조직(纖維組織)의 증식(增殖), 간세포(肝細胞)의 결절상(結節狀) 재생(再生), 가소엽(假小葉)의 형성(形成) 등(等)으로서, 이들 세가지의 변화(變化)가 뒤섞여 진행(進行) 되는 가운데, 간내(肝內) 혈관망(血管網)이 감소(減少)하거나 혈관망(血管網)에 이상(異狀) 함몰(陷沒)이 발생(發生)하는 것이다. 주(主)된 임상표현(臨床表現)은 간기능감퇴(肝機能減退)와 문맥압(門脈壓) 상승(上升)으로 인(因)한 비종대(脾腫大), 복수(腹水), 복벽정맥(腹壁靜脈)의 노장(怒張), 식도(食道)와 위저정맥(胃底靜脈)의 노장파열(怒張破裂), 간성혼수(肝性昏睡) 등(等)이 나타난다. 한의학(韓醫學)의 범주(範疇)로는 '적취(積聚), 징가, 황달(黃疸), 고창(鼓脹), 협통(脇痛), 단복창(單腹脹), 비괴' 등(等)에 해당(該當)되는 것으로 습열(濕熱)이 구울(久鬱)함에 따라 간(肝), 비(脾)가 손상(損傷)되고 이것이 더욱 오래되어 기체혈어(氣滯血瘀)로 발전(發展)하게 되는 병리변화(病理變化)를 갖는다. 이에 담도결찰(膽道結紮) 및 dimethylnitrosamine의 복강투여(腹腔投與)로 간경화(肝硬化)를 유발(誘發)하고, 울증(鬱證)에 다용하는 익국환과 익국보화환이 이러한 병증(病症)에 간기능보호작용(肝機能保護作用)이 있는가를 관찰(觀察)하고, 한의학적(韓醫學的) 병증(病症)의 분류(分類)에 따라 간질환(肝疾患)에 대(對)한 치료(治療)의 가능성(可能性)을 알아보고자 본(本) 실험(實驗)을 실시(實施)한 결과(結果), 유의성(有意性) 있는 결과(結果)를 얻었기에 보고(報告)하는 바이다.
