  • Ganui-Dae, built in the reign of King Sejong, Joseon Dynasty, is a comprehensive observatory. It has various instruments for observation and time signal such as Ganui, Gyupyo(Gnomon), water-hammering type Honui and Honsang, and so on. Studying on Ganui-Dae has been focused on its location, history, criterion, etc, so far. However, studying on its external form and construction method has been conducted insufficiently. This study suggests the model for restoration of Ganui-Dae. The model is based on the analysis about external form of Ganui-Dae in various antique maps, and its construction method in those days.

So we use Bangpungtongsung -san to stage 1 hypertensive patients. After treatment with Bangpungtongsung-san, patients showed antihypertensive effect and improvement in general condition. • Objectives The aim of this review is to analyse the study tendency in papers related with sibjeondaebotang (Shiquan dabutang) which are published in Korea from 2000 to 2013. Methods We searched the four electronic database (NSDL, RISS, Korean traditional knowledge portal, OASIS) and checked relevant Korean journals from 2000 to 2013. We classified the papers by publish date, speciality, study method, and field of study, and analysed the study tendency. Results 1. 4 papers were published annually on average. 2. After classifying papers by the speciality of journal, continuous study was followed not only in korean medicine, but also in many specialities like Dietetics, Biotechnology and Pharmacology. 3. In study methods, clinical case was 29%, in vivo was 26%, and in vitro was 26%. 4. After classifying papers by field of study, beneficial effect was 62%, toxicity was 14%, qualitative analysis was 9%, and adverse effect and pharmacology was 3%. 5. In beneficial effect, it is effective in antioxidation, treatment and prevention of neurologic disease, skin disease, gynecologic disease and so on. It has also an effect in enhancing the immune system, improving the dysfunction of organs, and it can also be used for anticancer and anti-metastatic purpose. Conclusions These results suggest that Sibjeondaebotang (Shiquan dabutang) can be used as cure medicine, not just as herbal tonic, but there are not sufficient evidence based papers, so there should be further studies in order to establish Sibjeondaebotang as a cure medicine.

  • The culture of makeup has early developed in China. Especially, beautiful eyebrows were the symbol of a beauty. This study is related to fashionable Cheong-Dae in Han Dynasty. In Han Dynasty, women painted thier eyebrows with blue color in a different color from former periods. This fact has close connection with the bordering countries on Western China. Together with Hu fashion having been in fashion during trading directive with Western China women has seemed to use Cheong-Dae for their makeup in Han Dynasty. In Hand Dynasty, Ferghana women had very often used it for their makeup. And it had produced in Ferghana, Jaguda, Kashkar. In Tang Dynasty, it has been said that Persia was the best. Let's take a look at the producing method. Soak indigo plants in water add lime and stir it up, then bubbles are formed. They are called it as Cheong-Dae. Nearly, they are produced in the course of indigo dying. So we can see inflowing course of Cheong-Dae into China through the history of Indigo dying. We can guess the use of Cheong-Dae in Egypt. Indeed, Nile Blue is used for the Protection their access from insects as well as effect of coolness visually. This guess is very reasonable because the fact is considered that some people dye with indigo color by the way of sedimentation in Peniasula of Sinai. Also, the PH of Cheong-Dae is about 7. So, it does no harm in skin and its color is dark blue. Cheong-Dae has effects of insecticide and removal of fever. Cheong-Dae that had been used in Peninsula of Egypt seems to have been carried into China through Silk Route. And by trial to make Cheong-Dae it is proved that its ingredient is plant.
