Design of a New FFT processor for OFDM (OFDM을 위한 새로운 구조의 FFT 프로세서 설계)

  • OFDM은 제4세대 변조기술로 일컬어지는 방식이다. 이는 최근 유럽에서 디지털 오디오 방송(DAB)과 디지털 비디오 방송(DVB)에 표준이 되었으며, IEEE 802.11a 무선 LAN 에서도 이 방식을 채택했고, ADSL, VDSL 등에서도 사용되어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 OFDM 방식의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 64포인트 FFT(Fast Fourier Transform)하드웨어 프로세서의 여러 가지의 구현된 예를 비교 분석하고, 가장 효율적인 방법인 Radix-2 SDF(Singlepath Delay Feedback)[1] 방법을 개선하여 새로운 구조를 제안하였다. 동일한 속도 성능을 가지는 여러구조 중에서 적은 수의 지연소자를 활용하여 FFT 크기를 작게 한 것이 SDF 방식으로 가장 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 SDF 방식이 내부적으로 4개의 복소곱셈기를 필요로 하는데 비해 2개의 복소곱셈기만을 사용하는 구조로 변형하고 컨트롤을 조절하여 새로운 구조를 설계하였다. 구현한 결과, FFT에서 전체 구조의 약 80%를 차지하는 복소곱셈기의 수를 절반으로 줄여 FFT 하드웨어 크기를 SDF 방식의 60% 정도로 줄일 수 있게 되었고, 이러한 구현방식은 64포인트 FFT만이 아닌 더 큰 크기의 FFT를 구현함에 있어서도 동일하게 적용할 수 있으며 현재 국내외에 발표된 논문 중 성능 대 면적비가 가장 우수한 구조이다.

  • Nowadays, a DC microgrid that can link various distributed power sources is gaining much attention. Accordingly, research on fault situations, such as line-to-line and line-to-ground faults of the DC microgrid, has been conducted to improve grid reliability. However, the blackout of an AC system and the oscillation of a DC bus voltage have not been reported or have not been sufficiently verified by previous research. In this study, a 20 kW DC microgrid testbed using a power HIL simulation technique is proposed. This testbed can simulate various fault conditions without any additional grid facilities and dangerous experiments. It includes the blackout of the DC microgrid caused by the AC utility grid's blackout, a drastic load increment, and the DC bus voltage oscillation caused by the LCL filter of the voltage source converter. The effectiveness of the proposed testbed is verified by using Opal-RT's OP5707 real-time simulator with a 3 kW prototype three-port dual-active-bridge converter.

A Study on the Cognitive Differences and Issue Factors of Terrestrial Broadcasters on Transmission System Determinants of Digital Radio Broadcasting (디지털 지상파 라디오 방송의 전송방식 결정요인에 관한 지상파 방송사의 인식차이와 쟁점 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Though the digital transition of terrestrial TV has been completed, the transmission system for terrestrial radio has not been determined and terrestrial radio still keeps its analog transmission. This study, under coorientation model, aims to explore the cognitive difference in recognizing important factors to be considered in deciding the digital radio transmission system between the employees of terrestrial broadcasters and then crucial issues related to the factors are driven. It has been found that the most big cognitive difference among the employees of three major terrestrial broadcasters lies in selecting frequency band for digital radio transmission. But there was little difference of opinion on simultaneous production-transmission, efficiency of frequency usage, broadcast quality and standards of service. The most disputable point in transition to digital radio broadcasting is selecting the frequency band for digital radio between the frequency bands used for FM radio broadcast (88-108MHz), terrestrial DMB (VHF Ch7~13) and FM radio adjacent broadcast band (76~88MHz: VHF Ch5~6). So, the question concludes into the selection issue between DAB+, HD-Radio, and DRM+. To improve the quality of radio broadcasting service and enhance the satisfaction of listeners, it is desirable to allow to operate both production system and transmission station, to enhance high transmission efficiency with minimum transmission facility, and to permit new entrance of broadcasters.

  • 현행 지상파 DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting)에서는 최대 CIF급 해상도의 동영상을 384 Kbps 정도의 비트율로 압축하여 비디오 CD급의 화질을 제공한다. 따라서 큰 화면을 통해 DMB 방송을 시청할 경우 해상도 부족 등으로 인한 화질 열화를 느낄 수 있다. 이와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 계층적으로 부호화된 비트스트림을 서로 다른 채널로 전송하는 고품질 AT-DMB 시스템이 연구되고 있다. 더불어, 계층변조 기술을 이용하여 추가적인 전송대역폭을 확보하고, 계층적 비디오 부호화 기술을 이용하여 고품질 이동 멀티미디어 방송을 제공하는 고품질 T-DMB 방식이 개발되고 있다. 이와 같은 AT-DMB 방식으로 사용자에게 안정된 고품질 비디오 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 계층적 비디오 부호화를 고려한 효율적인 AV다중화 및 동기화 구조에 대한 연구가 필수적으로 요구 된다. 본 논문에서는, 이와 같은 고품질 AT-DMB 시스템을 위해서 각 계층 ES(Elementary stream)을 MPEG-4 over MPEG-2 시스템과 Eureka-147 DAB 시스템을 통해 서로 다른 채널로 전송한다. 계층별 전송으로 인한 시간 지연에 대처하여 수신입력부에서는 각각의 계층으로 전송된 ES들이 동기화 되어 복호화 되도록 SVC의 계층적 비트스트림 구조와 적응적으로 동작되는 다중화 시스템구조를 제작하였다.

  • Die Geschichte des Kostums steht in unmittelbarem odor mittelbarem Zusammenhang mit der allgemeinea historischen Entwicklung derjenigen Lander und sozialen Schichten, die das kulturclle Gesicht und damit auch die Entwicklung der Mode einer Epoche bestimmen. Im 19. Jahrhundert war das Burgertum in Europa die herrschende soziale Schicht und daher auch modisch tonangebend. Die Mode des Burgertums zeigte demokratisierende Tendon-zen: Vereinfachung der Ausstattung und der Formen, wobei sich die Proportionen der Kleidung so gut wie moglich den des Korpers anpaBten. Die Herrenmode beugte sich zunehmend den For-derungen nach ZweckmaBigkeit; dab galt zumindest fur den Tagesanzug, der immer mehr zum Arbeitsanzug wurde und sick damit der Mannerkleidung der arbeinden Schicht annahrte. Die Industrialisierung trug ebenfalls dazu bei, daB die modischen und sozialen Previlegien in der Kleidung sich verminderten : die Textil-und Konfektionsindustrie muBte sich zwangs-laufig auf die Bedurfnisse der Massen und auf deren Wunsch einstellen. In der Herrenmode setzte sich die Tendenz zu funktionaler Einfachheit und Gradlinigkeit durch, d.h. funktional uberflussige Teile wie z.B. die Vielzahl der Kragen, Knopfreihen, uberlange SchoBe verschwanden ; an die Stelle der Farbenfreude trat ein einfaches, einhei-tliches Grau, Schwarz, Blau und Braun. Diese Vereinfachung wurde zum Ausdruck der zunehmenden Demokratisierung, wurde aber zugleich auch Voraussetzung fur eine neue Differnzierung des KlassenbewuBtseins. Zum Statussymbol wurden die auffalliges Erscheinen vermeidende Eleganz und das Arrangement der einzelnen Kleidungsstucke zu einem har-monischen Ganzen; elegante Kleidung weist ihren Trager aus als Kenner des Modetrends und damit als zugehorig zum Kreis der modeavancierten Schicht. Diese Ambivalenz bestimmt auch die Mode des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Implementation of Low Complexity FFT, ADC and DAC Blocks of an OFDM Transmitter Receiver Using Verilog

  • Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a system which is used to encode data using multiple carriers instead of the traditional single carrier system. This method improves the spectral efficiency (optimum use of bandwidth). It also lessens the effect of fading and intersymbol interference (ISI). In 1995, digital audio broadcast (DAB) adopted OFDM as the first standard using OFDM. Later in 1997, it was adopted for digital video broadcast (DVB). Currently, it has been adopted for WiMAX and LTE standards. In this project, a Verilog design is employed to implement an OFDM transmitter (DAC block) and receiver (FFT and ADC block). Generally, OFDM uses FFT and IFFT for modulation and demodulation. In this paper, 16-point FFT decimation-in-frequency (DIF) with the radix-2 algorithm and direct summation method have been analyzed. ADC and DAC in OFDM are used for conversion of the signal from analog to digital or vice-versa has also been analyzed. All the designs are simulated using Verilog on ModelSim simulator. The result generated from the FFT block after Verilog simulation has also been verified with MATLAB.

Triptolide Inhibits Histone Methyltransferase EZH2 and Modulates the Expression of Its Target Genes in Prostate Cancer Cells

  • The histone methyltransferase EZH2 (enhancer of zeste homolog 2) plays critical roles in prostate cancer (PCa) development and is a potential target for PCa treatment. Triptolide possesses anti-tumor activity, but it is unknown whether its therapeutic effect relates with EZH2 in PCa. Here we described EZH2 as a target for Triptolide in PCa cells. Our data showed that Triptolide suppressed PCa cell growth and reduced the expression of EZH2. Overexpression of EZH2 attenuated the Triptolide induced cell growth inhibition. Moreover, Triptolide treatment of PC-3 cells resulted in elevated mRNA levels of target genes (ADRB2, CDH1, CDKN2A and DAB2IP) negatively regulated by EZH2 as well as reduced mRNA levelsan of EZH2 positively regulated gene (cyclin D1). Our findings suggest the PCa cell growth inhibition mediated by Triptolide might be associated with downregulation of EZH2 expression and the subsequent modulation of target genes.

6kW V2H Power Converter Using Isolated CLLC DAB Converter

  • Recently, as interest in eco-friendliness grows, the supply of hybrid electric vehicles and pure electric vehicles (EVs) for improving fuel efficiency of automobiles is rapidly expanding. The average daily energy consumption of electric vehicles is less than 20 [%] of the total ESS capacity of the vehicle, and research on additional functions using the ESS of the vehicle is urgently needed to expand the supply of electric vehicles. V2H(Vehicle to Home), like V2G(Vehicle to Grid), includes the concept of cooperating with system stabilization using ESS of electric vehicles. In addition, it includes various operations that can realize home welfare, such as uninterrupted power supply in case of power outage at home, and power supply for home DC devices. Therefore, in order to expand the supply of eco-friendly electric vehicles, it is urgently required to develop a V2H system with various functions that can realize home welfare. In this paper, we propose a V2H system with a CLLC resonant converter and a non-isolated step-up converter that can solve different impedance and resonant frequencies depending on the power transfer direction. The proposed V2H system is 6 [kVA] applicable to 150-450 [V], the voltage range that can use the ESS voltage for electric vehicles, and is designed with a capacity that can handle instantaneous electricity use at home. In addition, in order to verify the feasibility, an experiment by Psim simulation and prototype production was performed.

  • The Siuejunsuh is a book of Korean woman's life in the Yi-dynasty which published late in 18 century by unknown author. I have studied the food habits of the Yi-dynasty that wrote in siuejunsuh as following. The staple foods ae Bab (boiled cooked rice) 2, Juk(gruel) 6, Mieum(thin rice gruel) 3, Uee (liquid) 1, D'ockguk 2, Mandu3 Kinds I this book. the side dishes are Guk(soup) 24, Jochi 7, jungol 2, J'im 16, Sinsollo 1, Bockuem 5, Sun 6, Gui 16, Jock 10, jon 12, jorim 7, Namul 14, Sangchae 4, Hyae 17, Joban 2, Nooruemi 1, Sooranpoached egg) 2, Sondae 2, jockpyun 1, Choe 1, Muchim 11, Pyunuk 2, Jockgall 6, Po 9, Ssam 4, Jup 1, Jangaji 27, Kimchi 20, and other 27 Kinds. the desserts are D'ock 41, jabgwa 52, Beverages 17 kinds. the alcohol and frutie liquor are 18 kinds. The seasonings are soybean sauce, Jinjang, red peper bean paste, Zupjang, Dampukjang, Chunggukjang, honey, vinegar, mustard, Yunzup etc. Storage foods are vegetables,fruits and beans etc. There are 62 kinds of table ware and cooking kitchen utensiles, but many of them came to usefulness. 16 kinds of measuring unit are very non-scientific because that is not by weight but by bulk or volume. Thee are many food making terms which are 179 kinds of prepared cooking term, 22 kinds of cutting term and 16 kinds of boiling term. And 20 kinds of expression of taste can be seen in this book. Food serving methods are D'ockiserving method, fruits and dried food serving methode in chanhap (food packed in a nest of boxes) Guksoo serving method, Jock serving method, fruits serving method, Seup serving method etc. Table setting methods ae 9 sets of dinner, 7 sets of dinner, 5 sets of dinner, side table setting, liquor table setting, Sinsollo table setting, food's dab table setting etc.

Residues of a New Fungicide, KNF 1002 in Cucumber and Pepper (신규 살균제 KNF 1002의 오이 및 고추 중 잔류특성)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the terminal residue of a new fungicide, KNF 1002, in cucumber and pepper under greenhouse and field conditions. When a microemulsion formulation (20%) of KNF 1002 was applied once or twice during $1{\sim}7$ days before harvest, its terminal residue in cucumber ranged <$0.02{\sim}0.20\;mg/kg$ under greenhouse condition. In pepper, its figure recorded $0.31{\sim}0.79\;mg/kg$ and $0.11{\sim}0.28\;mg/kg$ under greenhouse and field conditions, respectively. Much higher level of terminal residues was observed in leaves than those in fruits in pepper, showing $7.38{\sim}25.20\;mg/kg$ and $0.11{\sim}1.99\;mg/kg$ under greenhouse and field conditions, respectively. Cultivation condition affected evidently the residue level in pepper harvests. Residual pattern of KNF 1002 seemed to be comparable to strobilurin fungicides currently used.
