Parent glasses for the experiments were prepared to be ratio of Li2O : Al2O3 : SiO2=4.5 : 25 : 70.5 as basic components, and TiO2 and ZrO2 in the mixing ratio of 1 : 1 were added as the nucleating agents, whose contents were increased in each sample. DTA, XRD, SEM, IR were observed, and thermal expansion and transmissivities were measured for the crystallized samples under the controlled heat-treatments. The transformation temperatures and the dilatometric softening temperatures in thermal expansion curves, and also the exothermic peaks in differential thermo-analytical curves were shifted to lower temperature. The crystal phase deposited through the heat-treatment was identified as ${\beta}$-quartz solid solution with XRD and IR analysis. The crystalline phases in oopactified samples were ${\beta}$-spodumene coexiting with ${\beta}$-quartz solid solution. The samples having more than 3% nucleating agents were transparent. The crystallized grain sizes were ranged 0.05 to 0.1$\mu\textrm{m}$. The crystallized transparent samples were exceeded 85% in the transmissivity.
Thin films of the SiO2-TiO2-PDMS composite material have been prepared by the sol-gel dip coating method. Acid catalyzed solutions of tetraethoxy silane (TEOS) and polydimethyl siloxane (PDMS) mixed with titanium isopropoxide Ti(OiPr) were used as precursors. The optical and structural properties of the organically modified 70SiO2-30TiO2 composite films have been investigated with Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and prism coupling technique. The films coated on the soda-lime-silicate glass exhibit 450-750 nm thickness, 1.56-1.68 refractive index and 88-94% transmittance depending on the experimental parameters such as amount of PDMS, thermal treatment and heating rate. The optical loss of prepared composite film was measured to be about 0.34 dB/cm.
We studied fire properties of MOF(Metering Out Fit) insulation cover and field condition of 22.9kV power receiving system. $49.5\%$ of formal equipments were installed indoors, whereas $40.8\%$ of informal equipments were installed as H-type. Insulation treatment was not done at a $22.4\%$ ratio of main line($27.7\%$ of transformer, $70.2\%$ of COS, $10.4\%$ of MOF). Fire pattern analysis showed that the fire started at the secondary part of OC wire. In the result of DTA(Differential Thermal Analysis), normal cover showed exothermic reactions at $310^{\circ}C,\;399^{\circ}C\;and\;510^{\circ}C$ (endothermic reactions at $382^{\circ}C$). Whereas damaged cover showed exothermic reactions at $412^{\circ}C$(endothermic reactions at $389^{\circ}C$). In the result of TGA(Thermo Gravimetric Analysis), the thermal weight change of normal cover was similar compared to damaged cover. In the result of FT-IR analysis, normal cover showed absorption peaks at $3,024cm^{-l},\;2,921cm^{-l},\;1,600cm^{-1},\;1,492cm^{-1},\;1,451cm^{-1},\;1,154cm^{-l},\;1,027cm^{-1},\;906cm^{-1}$. Whereas, in case of tracked cover, the absorption peaks that were shown in normal cover disappeared and different absorption peak was shown at $966cm^{-1}$.

Investigating the microstructure of hardened cement mixtures with the aid of advanced technology will help the concrete industry to develop appropriate binders for durable building materials. In this paper, morphological, mineralogical and thermogravimetric analyses of autoclave-cured mixtures incorporating ground dune sand and ground granulated blast furnace slag as partial cementing materials were investigated. The microstructure analyses of hydrated products were conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermo-graphic analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The SEM and EDX results demonstrated the formation of thin plate-like calcium silicate hydrate plates and a compacted microstructure. The DTA and TGA analyses revealed that the calcium hydroxide generated from the hydration binder materials was consumed during the secondary pozzolanic reaction. Residual crystalline silica was observed from the XRD analysis of all of the blended mixtures, indicating the presence of excess silica. A good correlation was observed between the compressive strength of the blended mixtures and the CaO/$SiO_2$ ratio of the binder materials.

A novel synthetic route has been developed to prepare $\alpha$-cobalt hydroxide with intercalated nitrate anions. It was successfully synthesized by $\gamma$-ray irradiation under simple conditions, i.e., air atmosphere, without base. Under $\gamma$-ray irradiation, it leads to the formation of layered cobalt hydroxynitrate compounds which have small crystalline size and have the role of a generator of hydroxyl anion. Structural and morphological characterizations were performed by using power X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). The component and thermal stability of the sample were respectively measured by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and thermal analyses, including thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA).
The multi-component ceramic proton conductor, $BaZr(Y)O_3-SiO_2-TiO_2-ZrO_2$ (BZY-STZ) and $LaPO_4-SiO_2-TiO_2-ZrO_2$ (LP-STZ), were synthesized by micro-emersion and sol-gel technique. The characterization of proton conductors were carried out using X-ray diffraction(XRD), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), differential thermal analysis(DTA), impedance analysis. The proton conductors indicate the possibility of application for the intermediate temperature up to $700^{\circ}C$.
Natural biotemplates - such as bacteria, fungi and viruses - are used in nanostructured metal oxide production. The pollen can be found abundantly in nature, and their microcapsules can be easily isolated from the pollen by chemical treatments. To date, pollen microcapsules are mostly used as drug carriers and catalytic agent templates. In the present study, nanoporous-structured nickel oxide is produced using Pistachio pollen microcapsules. The raw pollen, chemically treated pollen and metal-coated pollen were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The natural Pistachio pollen which were procured from Gaziantep, Turkey, are spherical, with a diameter of approximately $23{\mu}m$. The maximum surface area obtained for nickel oxide-coated microcapsules is $228.82m^2/g$. This result shows that Pistachio pollen are an excellent candidate for the production of porous nanostructured materials for supercapacitor electrodes.
Forsterite is a crystalline magnesium silicate with chemical formula $Mg_2SiO_4$, which has extremely low electrical conductivity that makes it an ideal substrate material for electronics. In this study, forsterite precursors were synthesized with magnesium silicate gels from the mixture of magnesium nitrate solution and various sodium silicate solution by the geopolymer technique. Precursors and heattreated powders were characterized by thermogravimetrical differential thermal analyzer(TG-DTA), X-ray diffractometer(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), Si magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance(MAS-NMR), transmission electron microscopy(TEM). As the result of analysis about the crystallization behavior by DTA, the synthesized precursors were crystallized in the temperature range of $700^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$. The XRD results showed that the gel composition began to crystallize at various temperature. Also, it was found that the sodium orthosilicate based precursors(named as 'FO') began to crystallize at above $550^{\circ}C$. The FO peaks were much stronger than sodium silicate solution based precursors(named as 'FW'), sodium metasilicate based precursors(named as 'FM') at $800^{\circ}C$. TEM investigation revealed that the 100nm particle sized sample was obtained from FO by heating up to $800^{\circ}C$.
(Ba$_{0.6-x}$Sr$_{0.4}$Ca$_{x}$)TiO$_3$(x=1.10,0.15,0.20) specimens were fabricated by the solid state reaction method and then the structural and dielectric properties as a function of he composition ratio and sintering temperature were studied. As a result of the differential thermal analysis(DTA), exothermic peak was observed at around 102$0^{\circ}C$ due to the formation of the polycrystalline perovskite phase. The BSCT(50/40/10) specimen sintered at 150$0^{\circ}C$ showed the highest average grain size(18.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$). The Curie temperature and dielectric constant at room temperature decreased with increasing Ca content. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the BSCT(50/40/10) specimen, sintered at 145$0^{\circ}C$, were about 4324 and 0.972% at 1KHz, respectively.ively.
In relations to cold acclimation, experiment was carried out to understand the seasonal changes in reserve substances of the mulberry. The shoot barks and leaves of three mulberry varieties(Kaeryangppong, Shinilppong and Yongcheonppong) were sampled, after that their reserve substances were analyzed. The cold hardiness of mulberry was investigated by DTA(Differential Thermal Analysis) method. To increase cold hardiness, gibberellin(100 ppm), kinetin(100 ppm) and Jambi 8 were sprayed on the mulberry leaves. After spraying, falling of the leaves of Yongcheonppong occured earier than the other varities. After the first frost, all of treatments except gibberellin were entirely fallen. Growth regulator extended the leaves fallen. After spraying, water of the shoot barks was not showed difference in the content among the treatments, but amino acid, carbohydrate and soluble protein increased from September to October. Starch content of the shoot barks and leaves was maximum in October, but thereafter decreased during wintering stage. In Shinilppong, Jambi 8 spray increased cold hardiness by 1-2$^{\circ}C$ more than no spray. It was concluded that the cold hardiness of the mulberry in midwinter is closely related to the reserve substances with spraying Jambi 8 on the mulberry leaves.
