  • In this paper, a speech processor which is the most important part of the cochlear implant is developed, to recover auditory ability for the sensorineural disorders who have damaged for their inner ear. This system consists of the analog and digital signal processing part, of which functions is the pre-processing and the main processing, respectively. The main processing is peformed in DSP processor (TMS320C31-40) by using S/W. Because the program is used in this system, it is possible to cope with the individual status of the patients, very easily.

  • This paper presents implementation of digitally speed sensorless control system for induction motor with a direct torque control(DTC) using 32bit DSP TMS320C31. The system are closed loop stator flux and torque observer for wide speed range that inputs are currents and voltages sensing of motor terminal, MRAS with rotor flux linkages for the speed turning signal, two hysteresis controllers, optimal switching look-up table and IGBT voltage source inverter. There are suggested a control algorithm and system, and given simulation and implementation results on the 2.2Kw general purposed induction motor.

  • This paper proposes a servo control system of SPMSM (Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) which essentially uses vector control method. The control system is composed of the PI controller for speed control and the current controller using space voltage vector PWM technique. The high-speed processing of algorithm for vector control and inverter switching for PWM is carried out by TMS320C31 DSP and IGBT module, respectively. The proposed scheme for 2.2kW SPMSM is verified through digital simulations and experiments, which show higher performance than that of traditional hysteresis current control technique.

  • In this paper, an active noise controller for a communication headset was designed. In a communication headset, there exist information signals such as voices from the end for the communication line as well as also, undesirable noises with are induced by external noise sources such as engine noises. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the external noises for clear hearing of the communication signals. This problem was solved by robust H(sub)$\infty$ controller to reduce noise and a compensator for information signals The designed controller was implemented using TMS320C31 DSP Op-amp, and several experiments were performed to verify its performance. The results showed that the controller reduces the undesirable noises sufficiently, while communication signals are not reduced.

A Novel Dead-Time Compensation Method using Disturbance Observer

  • A new on-line dead-time compensation method for a permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor drive is proposed. Using a simple disturbance observer without any additional circuit and off-line experimental measurement, disturbance voltages in the synchronous reference dq frame caused by the dead time and non-ideal switching characteristics of power devices are estimated in an on-line manner and fed to voltage references in order to compensate the dead-time effects. The proposed method is applied to a PM synchronous motor drive system and implemented by using software of a digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320C31. Simulations and experiments are carried out for this system and the results well demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This thesis is proposing novel RPWM (Random PWM) techniques that can locate PWM pulse to do random. RPWM techniques to propose locates SVPWM (Space Vector PWM) pulse by number of each random and principle to locate of pulse applies different random function and locate pulse. For propriety verification of proposed techniques, achieve an simulation and experiment that use MATLAB/SIMULINK about proposed RPWM techniques algorithm and IGBT inverter composition that use DSP(TMS320C31). Specially, analyze harmonic spectra of inverter output current when the induction motor speed is more than 10,000 rpm, confirm that RPWM's effect in high speed degree appears. Proposed RPWM techniques propriety prove from reduction effect of harmonic magnitude that corresponds to an integer times of switching frequency.

  • The operation of robot manipulators has a restriction that the operator must reside at the factory, where the manipulator is used. To overcome this restriction, we propose a remote control system using the internet, the system which runs on the Window 95 environment is composed of the remote client which transfers commands to the server which control and manage the manipulator in the factory. In the control of Hong-ik Direct Drive Arm, it is necessary to consider the complex nonlinear parameters causing the mutual interaction between joints, so we use two TMS320C31 DSP chips in the controller for the real time dynamic control algorithms. For the test of system integrity and the verification of the mathematical modeling, we apply CTM, PD and VSS control algorithms and the simulation results are satisfactory.

  • In this paper, we propose anew approach to the development of the automatic vision system to examine and repair the steam generator tubes at remote distance. In nuclear power plants, workers are reluctant of works in steam generator because of the high radiation environment and limited working space. It is strongly recommended that the examination and maintenance works be done by an automatic system for the protection of the operator from the radiation exposure. Digital signal processors are used in implementing real time recognition and examination of steam generator tubes in the proposed vision system. Performance of proposed digital vision system is illustrated by simulation and experiment for similar steam generator model.

차량 항법용 음성인식 시스템의 구현 (Implementation of a Speech Recognition System for a Car Navigation System)

  • 본 논문에서는 차량 항법영 음성 인식을 위한 화자 독립 단독음 인식 시스템을 범용 DSP를 사용하여 구현하였으며, 잡음 처리 기술로 SNR 정규화와 RAS를 결합한 방법을 제안하여 인식 시스템의 성능을 개선시켰다. 인식 알고리즘으로서 반연속 HMM을 사용하였으며, TMS320C31을 이용하여 구현하였다. 실험에서 사용된 인식 단어는 차량 항법 시스템을 위한 명령어 69단어이며, 구현된 인식 시스템은 자동차 환경에서 녹음된 음성 데이터에 의한 인식 결과와 하드웨어 구현에 따르는 제약 조건을 동시에 고려하여 구현되었다. 주행 중에 녹음된 데이터에 대한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 상에서 특징 벡터 중 MFCC-CMS를 이용하고, 잡음 처리 방법으로 SNR 정규화와 스펙트럼 차감법을 결합하여 실험한 경우 최고 93.62%의 인식 성능을 보였으며, 89.93%의 인식률을 갖는 기존 방법보다 3.69%의 인식 성능 향상을 가져왔다. 제안된 잡음 처리 방법은 자동차 안에서의 SNR이 5dB이하에서 좋은 인식 성능을 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This paper presents the speed control of the surface-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motors (SMPMSM) for the elevator drive. The elevator motor needs to be a compact and slim type. Essentially, the proposed scheme uses a vector control algorithm for a speed and torque control. This system is implemented using a high speed 32-bit DSP (TMS320C31-50), a high-integrated logic device FPGA (EPF10K10-Tl144-3) to design compactly and Inexpensively The proposed scheme is verified through digital simulation and experiments for a three-phase 13.3kW SMPMSM as a MRL(MachineRoomless) elevator motor ill the laboratory. Finally, experiment of the test tower was performed with a 48kW PWM converter-inverter system for a high- speed elevator .
