Implementation of SDR Platform for LTE using GNU Radio and NDK of TI DSP (GNU Radio와 TI DSP의 NDK를 이용한 LTE SDR 플랫폼 구현)

  • This paper presents an implementation method using NDK (Network Developer's Kit) of GNU (GNU is Not Unix) Radio and Multicore DSP (Digital Signal Processor) to implement LTE (Long Term Evolution) SDR (Software Defined Radio) Platform. In order to satisfy 1.4MHz, 3MHz, 5MHz and 10MHz of the bandwidth supported by LTE, USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) X series which is an RF (Radio Frequency) transceiver of Ettus Research was used. To control this, GNU Radio which is an open source software radio toolkit was used. We also used NDK from TI (Texas Instruments) DSP to transfer data between USRP and DSP. Experimental results show throughput results according to each bandwidth, thus confirming the feasibility of implementing LTE SDR Platform using GNU Radio and NDK of TI DSP.

  • In this paper, We make horizontal balancer (HB) and confirm a possibility of the technique that can be applied to ship through horizontal vibration reduction experiment. We use MATLAB as the simulator tool and experimental equipment consists of two induction motors shafts of which cam type unbalanced loads are fixed to, DSP and inverter circuit. Two induction motors perform roles as vibrator and balancer respectively, DSP control softwares such as speed, phase and vector control program. The simulation and experimental results show that the balancer characterizes good vibration reduction by phase control.

  • Modeling a virtual reader and tags, the emulator system is realized by using a commercial signal generation device to make signal, a data collection equipment, and DSP board. By using a Virtual UHF RFID (860 ~ 960 [MHz]) reader/tags module, a developed RFID reader, protocol of tag, and properties of RF support to provide the way how to verify the suitability to international standards (ISO 18000-6 Type C, EPCglobal C1G2). In this paper, to implement a proposed model reader and tag model, Visual DSP is applied by using DSP board, composing the system's signal generators, signal analyzers and performance verification, the target readers or tags, RFID emulator control computesr and control programs.

  • This paper presents a SPMSM(Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) servo drive system using high performance TMS320F2812 DSP for the industrial application. The DSP(Digital Signal Processor) Controller enables an enhanced real time algorithm and cost-effective design intelligent for only exclusively motor drives which can be yield enhanced operation, fewer system components, lower control system cost, increased efficiency and high performance. The suggested system contain speed and current sensing circuits, SVPWM(Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation) and I/O interface circuit. The developed servo drive control system showns a good response characteristics results and high performance features in general purposed 400[w] machine. This system can achieve cost reduction and size minimization of controllers.

  • This paper presents DSP based narrow band satellite communication signal power detector for tracking control of mobile satellite antenna system. An analog filter based conventional power detector has poor performance due to frequency drift of carrier. Also, it is very difficult to change an analog filter bandwidth according to changed bandwidth of transmitted signal. To solve these difficulties, we proposed DSP based signal power detector, which is easy to change bandwidth of filter and to match shifted frequency of carrier. The proposed signal power detector consists of a FFT function to measure frequency drift of carrier, a programmable filter bank function to limit of received signal bandwidth and a power calculation function to measure power of filtered signal in 12-bit linear scale. Test results of implemented signal power detector, based on TMS320C5402 DSP, showed that it satisfied required functions and performances and properly operated.

  • In this paper, a three phase inverter control methodology for photovoltaic generation system, which is a renewable energy source, was studied. The voltage source inverter type of the constant voltage supply type was selected as the three phase photovoltaic inverter, and SWPM method was selected as control technique. a small capacity three phase photovoltaic inverter system, which has a DSP with powerful high speed data processing ability as the main controller and a solar controller as current controller to supply a certain amount of current to charge the battery, was made and tested for SPWM function.

  • A scanner is an output device that scans documents, photographs, films etc, and convert them to digital data. Especially, a film scanner is used for scanning negative/positive films. In this paper, we design step motor control part, image sensor part, and Aか converter part which are components of the scanner and use DSP for fast signal processing. We also design the interface circuits using EPLD between these peripherals and DSP. The PC interface circuits between scanner and PC are designed by using parallel port to control and transfer the scanned data from scanner to PC. For 35mm film, we design hardwares which obtain high resolution more than 9 million pixels (horizontal resolution is 3835 and vertical resolution is 2592).

  • This paper presents and analysis a system control algorithm of direct torque control for induction motor using digital signal professor. Using direct torque control, robust. simple and dynamic motor control can be realized. The implemented system is verified by analyzing control torque and flux characteristic.

  • Passive Stabilization method and active stabilization method are mainly used to comprise a control system of platform stabilizer. Passive Stabilization method has demerits because of size and weight except that control structure is simple while active stabilization method using sensors can reduce size and weight, it requires high sensor technique and control algorithm. In this paper, a stabilizing controller using adaptive fuzzy control technique and floating-point processor(DSP) is suggested.

  • In this paper, a 3-phase inverter output waveform generator based on SPWM control was developed to verify the performance of the LCL filter. In order to obtain a test signal for verifying the performance of the filter, first, a DSP-based 3-phase SPWM signal generation algorithm was developed, and then a three-phase voltage source inverter circuit was designed using three half-bridge gate drivers. Next, one LCL filter was experimentally fabricated to verify the effectiveness of the developed SPWM-based 3-phase inverter output waveform generator as a test signal generator, and a DSP-based performance verification system was experimentally constructed. Finally, by comparing the three-phase voltage waveform before and after the LCL filter obtained in the output control experiment with the given time ratio, the effectiveness of the SPWM-based 3-phase inverter output waveform generator was verified.
