To improve the mean-life and the reliability of power cable, we have investigated specific heat (Cp) and thermal conductivity of XLPE insulator and semiconducting materials in 154[kV] underground power transmission cable. Specimens were made of sheet form with the seven of specimens for measurement. Specific heat (Cp) and thermal conductivity were measured by DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) and Nano Flash Diffusivity. Specific-heat measurement temperature ranges of XLPE insulator were from $20[^{\circ}C]\;to\;90[^{\circ}C]$, and the heating rate was $1[^{\circ}C/min]$. And the measurement temperatures of thermal conductivity were $25[^{\circ}C],\;55[^{\circ}C]\;and\;90[^{\circ}C]$. In case of semiconducting materials, the measurement temperature ranges of specific heat were from $20[^{\circ}C]\;to\;60[^{\circ}C]$, and the heating rate was $1[^{\circ}C/min]$. And the measurement temperatures of thermal conductivity were $25[^{\circ}C]\;and\;55[^{\circ}]C$. From these experimental results both specific heat and thermal conductivity were increased by heating rate because volume of materials was expanded according to rise in temperature. We could know that a small amount of CNT has a excellent thermal properties.
It is important to analyze crosslink densities of rubber articles because the physical properties are dependent on the crosslink densities. In this paper, analytical techniques for the measurement of crosslink densities of rubber vulcanizates are described. The most widely used method to measure the crosslink density is a swelling method combined with the Flory-Rehner equation. Application of the interaction parameter (${\chi}$) of rubber and swelling solvent is critical because the crosslink density is absolutely dependent on the ${\chi}$ value. Methods for obtaining ${\chi}$ employ not only solubility parameters of the polymer and swelling solvent but also inverse gas chromatography (IGC). The solubilities of rubbers can be obtained using micro differential scanning calorimetry (${\mu}DSC$), intrinsic viscosity measurement, and UV-visible spectroscopy. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy has been also used for the measurement of the crosslink density using the $T_2$ relaxation time, which is determined by spin-spin relaxation in solid-state NMR. For sulfur-cured rubber vulcanizates, crosslink densities according to the crosslink types of mono-, di-, and polysulfides are measured by treating the rubber samples with a chemical probe composed of thiol and amine compounds. Measurement methods of physical crosslinking by filler, crystallization, and ionic bonding have also been introduced.

PP-EVOH(poly(vinyl alchol-co-ethylene)) blends were prepared by the mixing of polypropylene and poly(vinyl alcohol-co-ethylene) containing 38mol% of ethylene units (EVOH38) at melt state above PP melting temperature. The materials were characterized by using dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and contact angle measurement to detemine the glass transition, meltin, decomposition temperatures, and wettability respectively. From the results, PP-EVOH(poly(vinyl alcohol-co-ethylene)) blends exgibits partial miscibility.
Polyurethane modified silicone (PUMS) was synthesized from various molecular weights of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS 2000, PDMS 6000, PDMS 20000), polypropyleneglycol with molecular weight of 3000 g/mol (PPG 3000) and 2,4-toluenediisocyanate (TDI) under tin catalyst. Their structures were confirmed by the measurement of FT-IR and $^1H-NMR$, and the thermal properties were studied from DSC and TGA. Glass transition temperature of PUMS exhibited exothermic peak at $-63{\sim}-69^{\circ}C$, and residual weight was 19~35% at $800^{\circ}C$.
The Physicochemical, sensory and cooking properties of functionally fortified rice with dietary fiber and chitosan were compared with regular rice when the rices were cooked with pressure and electric cookers. Moisture content of functional rice before cooking was 11.11%, which was lower than 13.72% in regular rice. Accordingly, moisture contents of functional rice samples cooked both with pressure and electric cookers were lower than those of regular rice. L value showing the degree of lightness of cooked rice was significantly higher in rice samples cooked with pressure cookers. The ${\alpha}$ value, the degree of redness and the b value, the degree of yellowness, were the highest in the functional rice cooked with an electric rice cookers. Textural measurement of hardness using a rheometer showed the highest value in functional rice cooked with a pressure cooker. The degree of gelatinization measured using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) before cooking showed higher onset gelatinization temperature ($T_0$) and peak gelatinization temperature ($T_p$) in functional rice compared with those in regular rice. The gelatinization enthalpy (${\Delta}H$) of functional rice was lower than that of regular rice, showing that functional foe had lower gelatinization energy compared with regular rice. When the samples were stored in a refrigerator for one week, the DSC showed faster retrogradation degrees in samples cooked with electric rice cooker, having significantly higher enthalpies of regular and functional rice cooked with electric cooked compared to those cooked with pressure cookers. The functional rice samples cooked with pressure cooker had higher consumer acceptance test values compared to those cooked with electric cookers.

Dye-sensitized Solar Cell (DSC) is a new type of solar cell by using photocatalytic properties of $TiO_2$. The electric potential distribution in DSCs has played a major role in the operation of such cells. Models based on a built-in electric field which sets the upper limit for the open circuit voltage(Voc) and/or the possibility of a Schottky barrier at the interface between the mesoporous wide band gap semiconductor and the transparent conducting substrate have been presented. $TiO_2$ thin films were deposited on the FTO substrate by Nd:YAG Pulsed Laser Deposition(PLD) at room temperature and post-deposition annealing at $500^{\circ}C$ in flowing $O_2$ atmosphere for 1 hour. The structural properties of $TiO_2$ thin films have investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and atomic force microscope(AFM). Thickness of $TiO_2$ thin films were controlled deference deposition time and measurement by scanning electron microscope(SEM). Then we manufactured a DSC unit cells and I-V and efficiency were tested using solar simulator.

The cure kinetics of carbon fiber-reinforced prepreg for Vacuum Bag Only(VBO) process was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The total heat of reaction (ΔHtotal = 537.1 J/g) was defined by the dynamic scanning test using prepregs and isothermal scanning tests were performed at 130℃~180℃. The test results of isothermal scanning were observed that the heat of reaction was increased as the temperature elevated. The Kratz model was applied to analyze the cure kinetics of resin based on the test results. To verify the simulation model, the degree of cure from panels using different cure cycles were compared with the measurement. The simulation model showed that the error against the experimental value was less than 3.4%.
DSC was used to investigate the thermal mechanism of acorn and corn starch with or without saccharides on gelation and retrogradation. When the samples were starch-saccharide-water system (s-s-w), from measuring of gelation enthalpy and temperatures of initial gelation, peak and conclusion(T$\_$0/, T$\_$p/, T$\_$c/), those of s-s-w system were higher than those of stank-water system (s-w). The retrogradation enthalpy of acorn starch and corn starch was straightly increasing by DSC measurement as storage times. This increase meant slowly becoming recrygtallization of amylopectin. In retrogyadation process, the starch-saccharide-water system's enthalpy was also increased. After 7 days went, the value of the enthalpy was steady. Saccharides were retarding retrogrodation because of stopping the recrystallization of amylopectin. Especially in using fructose and maltose, the retrogradation effect of maltose was well. These elements took effect the number of juntion zone, one of equatorial OH and dynamic hydration number. As these three elements were increasing, a starch-Rel-system was stabilizing.

In this study, measurement and analysis results from Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) on the newly developed high-energy thermoplastic elastomer(ETPE) propellant are described, followed by the previous study done under the same title as this paper [1]. The characteristics of high-energy thermoplastic propellant were also verified by conducting thermal analysis, and the LSGT, Shotgun & RQ Bomb test, was carried out as well. High energetic thermoplastic binders containing 45% of GAP(Glycidyl Azide Polymer), energetic plasticizer(DEGDN) and Oxidizer Aonium Perchlorate), RDX(reseach development explosive, cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine) were used to formulate the propellant.

We have investigated volume resistivity and thermal properties showed by changing the content of carbon black which is the component parts of semiconducting shield in underground power transmission cable. Specimens were made of sheet form with the nine of specimens for measurement. Volume resistivity of specimens was measured by volume resistivity meter after 10 minutes in the preheated oven of both 25$\pm$1[$^{\circ}C$] and 90$\pm$1[$^{\circ}C$]. And specific heat (Cp) and thermal conductivity were measured by Nano Flash Diffusivity and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry). The measurement temperature ranges of specific heat using the BSC was from 20[$^{\circ}C$] to 60[$^{\circ}C$], and the heating rate was 1[$^{\circ}C$/min]. And the measurement temperatures of thermal conductivity using Nano Flash Diffusivity were both 25[$^{\circ}C$] and 55[$^{\circ}C$]. Volume resistivity was high according to an increment of the content of carbon black from these experimental results. And specific heat was decreased, while thermal conductivity was increased by an increment of the content of carbon black. And both specific heat and thermal conductivity were increased by heating rate because volume of materials was expanded according to rise in temperature.
