  • Because of directly receiving the thing in which a microwave is reflected and comparing the frequency, the microwave sensor with doppler effect completely overcomes the problem of the passive infrared sensor. The microwave sensor with doppler effect well operates about a temperature, the dust, and the peripheral noise because of being dull in the most of ambient conditions. The system developed in this research is the electricity saving detection sensor which it senses the real time action of a man as the microwave sensor and automatically turns on the electric lamp and turns off, minimizes the electrical energy consumption. Since the microwave sensor is not influenced in the light, the dust, and the natural element like the ambient temperature, the effectiveness is considered to be superior to the passive infrared sensor being used currently. There was the energy reduction effect more than about 60% in the performed example which established this system. When this was compared with the construction cost, the cost of establishing payback period was about 1-1.5 year. The microwave sensor with doppler effect developed from this research result is convinced in the future to do enough for the electric energy saving.

  • Current sensors that use a Hall element and Hall IC to measure the magnetic fields generated in steel silicon core gaps do not distinguish between direct and alternating currents. Thus, they are primarily used to measure direct current (DC) in industrial equipment. Although such sensors can measure the DC when installed in expensive equipment, ascertaining problems becomes difficult if the equipment is set up in an unexposed space. The control box is only opened during scheduled maintenance or when anomalies occur. Therefore, in this paper, a method is proposed for facilitating the safety management and maintenance of equipment when necessary, instead of waiting for anomalies or scheduled maintenance. A Bluetooth 4.0 low-energy current-sensor system based on near-field communication is used, which compensates for the nonlinearity of the current-sensor output signal using a piecewise linear model. The sensor is controlled using its generic attribute profile. Sensor nodes and cell phones used to check the signals obtained from the sensor at 50-A input currents showed an accuracy of ±1%, exhibiting linearity in all communications within the range of 0 to 50 A, with a stable output voltage for each communication segment.

  • A sensor network system processes user queries using the recent field data collected by each sensor node. To process user queries, the system propagates the queries to the specific sensor nodes which have the relevant data and aggregates the results of the queries. However, if continuous queries are processed by the existing scheme, the system has the problem where the queries are propagated repeatedly. In this paper, we propose the query processing scheme to process the continuous queries over the sensor streaming data. To do this, each sensor node builds its own query index on its node. And, we present the scheme to deal with the unexpected data rising on the sensor node.

  • Wireless networks composed of multimedia-enabled resource-constrained sensor nodes have enriched a large set of monitoring sensing applications. In such communication scenario, however, new challenges in data transmission and energy-efficiency have arisen due to the stringent requirements of those sensor networks. Generally, congested nodes may deplete the energy of the active congested paths toward the sink and incur in undesired communication delay and packet dropping, while bit errors during transmission may negatively impact the end-to-end quality of the received data. Many approaches have been proposed to face congestion and provide reliable communications in wireless sensor networks, usually employing some transport protocol that address one or both of these issues. Nevertheless, due to the unique characteristics of multimedia-based wireless sensor networks, notably minimum bandwidth demand, bounded delay and reduced energy consumption requirement, communication protocols from traditional scalar wireless sensor networks are not suitable for multimedia sensor networks. In the last decade, such requirements have fostered research in adapting existing protocols or proposing new protocols from scratch. We survey the state of the art of transport protocols for wireless multimedia sensor networks, addressing the recent developments and proposed strategies for congestion control and loss recovery. Future research directions are also discussed, outlining the remaining challenges and promising investigation areas.

  • Recently, there is developing various ubiquitous application services using sensor networks based on TinyOS represented the operating system of sensor node. These sensor networks perform the collection and the transmission of sensing data from sensor node to get the context information. In this paper, we proposes the sensor node control algorithm which converts a sensor node to sleep, active, power off mode according to monitoring result of the voltage state of sensor node. Also, we designs and implement the sensor control module on server, sink, sensor node of sensor networks using this algorithm. It designs a sensor voltage control module of sensor node, data receive and display module of USN server using a java language and TinyOS. And, it checks the voltage state of sensor node, and it changes one of the sleep or power off modes in case of high voltage loss. Accordingly, we effectively use the power of sensor nodes as changing control modes of sensor nodes.

  • Conventional sensor node operating systems do not support sensor abstraction for sensor applications. So, application programmers have to take charge of developing the hardware and the device drivers for the applications by themselves. In this paper, we present an as architecture to support sensor abstraction. The as provide not only application programmers with API library to access sensor devices, but also sensor developers with HAL library to access sensor hardware. This can reduce the development burden of application programmers significantly. In this paper, at first, we define the sensor HW interface to ease the attachment of sensors. Second, we describe the sensor access API for application programmers. Third, we define the HAL library for sensor device programmers to use. Finally, we show that the as can support sensor abstraction by illustrating the sample programs.

  • As a promising integrated circuit, wireless communication and micro-computing technology, the technology of sensor network that will lead the information technology industries of the next generation and realize the ubiquitous computing is one of the most active research topics and its research activities are also making today. From now on, each node, the network formation, and even the sensor network itself will interact with the generic network and evolve dynamically according to environmental changes in a process of continual creation and extinction. Therefore, address-internetworking between sensor network and generic network which are used different address mechanism is required. In this paper, we propose a static address-internetworking scheme for interactive networking between a sensor network and the Internet. The proposed scheme that possess a gateway approach to perform the protocol translation from one protocol to another, an overlay approach to constructs an overlay network on the WSNs and enables static internetworking between a sensor network address scheme based on Zigbee and the Internet address scheme based on the Internet Protocol. In addition, we verify the proposed scheme by an interconnection experiment.

  • In this paper, we analyze the feasibility of establishing a precise sensor model for high-resolution satellite imagery using unified control points. For this purpose, we integrated unified control points and the aerial orthoimages from the national land information map (http://map.ngii.go.kr/ms/map/NlipMap.do) operated by the National Geographic Information Institute (NGII). Then, we collected the image coordinates corresponding to the unified control point's location in the satellite image. The unified control points were used as observation data for establishing a precise sensor model. For the experiment, we compared the results of precise sensor modeling using GNSS survey data and those using unified control points. Our experimental results showed that it is possible to establish a precise sensor model with around 2 m accuracy when using unified control points.

  • When sensor networks are deployed in open environments, an adversary may compromise some sensor nodes and use them to inject false sensing reports. False report attack can lead to not only false alarms but also the depletion of limited energy resources in battery powered networks. The Interleaved hop-by-hop authentication (IHA) scheme detects such false reports through interleaved authentication. In IHA, when a report is forwarded to the base station, all nodes on the path must spend energies on receiving, authenticating, and transmitting it. An dversary can spend energies in nodes by using the methods as a relaying attack which uses macro. The Adversary aim to drain the finite amount of energies in sensor nodes without sending false reports to BS, the result paralyzing sensor network. In this paper, we propose a countermeasure using fuzzy logic from the Denial of Service(DoS) attack and show an efficiency of energy through the simulataion result.
