A Comparative Study on the Current Status of Spectacle Frames Standards (안경테 표준규격 실태에 관한 비교 연구)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine various national standards and to suggest problems and improvements on KS (Korean Industrial Standards) in spectacle frames. Methods: We surveyed the latest published KS, ISO (International Organization for Standardization), JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards), DIN (Deutsches Institut fur Normung) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards with relating spectacle frames. The titles that were considered in comparative study were terms and vocabulary, measuring system and terminology, marking, requirements and test methods, formers, screw threads, and others. Results: There were 9 different languages such as English (USA and UK), French, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, German, Italian and Spanish for the lists of equivalent terms and vocabulary in all standards except KS and ANSI, but gave an explanation for terms and vocabulary in only KS. Complementary terms and definitions were not existed in annex of KS and ANSI for measuring system and terminology, but they were included in annex of standards of the others. KS and ANSI standard for requirements and test methods differed from the ISO revision. Except JIS and ANSI, standards of formers were almost identical. KS standard of screw threads were similar to JIS. Standards of welded joints and nickel release did not exist in KS. Conclusions: All standards except ANSI tend to follow ISO, especially DIN is almost entirely identical to ISO. But KS is behind the times because it has been amended lately or established in accordance with older editions of ISO. Therefore, in order to assist quality control and safety for spectacle frames, KS standards shall be superseded by the specifications which is identical to ISO within a reasonable time.

  • 유럽 18개 국가의 표준제정기구가 회원으로 구성되어 있는 유럽 규격제정 위원회(CEN:Comite europeen de Normalisation 또는 European Committee on Standardization)는 유럽 내에서 시판. 사용되는 모든 제품이 만족해야 할 규격 또는 규제안(regulation)을 제정하는 일을 담당하고 있다. 이들이 제정하는 규격의 기본적인 내용은 국제규격이나 각 나라의 규격과 대동소이하지만 그 내용에 있어서 구체적인 제품을 지정하기 때문에 보다 세분화되어 있으며 상업적인 성격을 띈다는 측면에서 ISO, DIN. BS등의 국제표준규격과 성격을 달리한다고 할 수 있다 특히, 이 위원회에서 공동으로 제정된 사안은 각 회원국에서 수정 없이 그대로 국가 인증규격으로 사용하므로 산업계에서는 상당한 영향력을 지닌 기구라고 할 수 있다.(중략)

  • Recently, as the range of mobile communication services is extended, the interference between adjacent base-stations is increased. Nowdays, one of the important factors causing interference is IMD (Inter-Modulation Distortion) problems. Not only active IMD but also passive IMD effects must be considered to design a CDMA system. In this study, we design and implement 7/16" DIN connectors which have a various intensity of surface illumination, thickness and quality of plating material to analyze the effects of PIMD. And propose the methods for improving the PIMD characteristics: First, it is more profitable to use the metal which has good intensity of surface illumination where most of all electric currents passes through it. Secondly, we should plate metals more than $5{\mu}m$ for RF energy enough to propagate in a medium. Thirdly, it is necessary to select a metal having high conductivity and specific heat to protect the aging phenomenon of plate material. And it is required to develop a new plating material to replace the current materials, such as the alloy of three components for cost reduction. We have to know that the plate which has intensity of surface illumination 6 S and the thickness of plating material $5{\mu}m$ satisfy the domestic PIMD specification (KTF) -150 dBc, regardless of the plate material in case of 7/16" DIN connector.

Properties of Sunglass Lenses by Non-Destructive Test for the Sunglass Standards (비파괴식 검사를 통한 선글라스의 품질에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we compared the properties of 23 high and 55 low price sunglass lenses with the standards in the ordinary optical properties, materials, coloration, UV, IR and luminous transmittance, color acceptance for traffic signal, chromaticity and contrast sensitivity. The ordinary optical properties of the lenses met comparatively the requirements of the KS standard. The HIGH-type and LOW-type lenses were primarily made by glass and acrylate, respectively. In the coloration, HIGH-type was in group around neutral color but LOW-type was distributed widely on the line between 570 nm and 485 nm. There are fails in 7% of HIGH-type and 18% of LOW-type in the stimulus purity of the luminous transmittance. Wavelength of the UV/VIS cut-off was over 350 nm for HIGH-type but 6% of LOW-type was under 350 nm. In the erythemal UV, all HIGH-type met the needs of standards but 5 LOW-type failed with DIN standard In the near UV, KS standard worked in stringency, and HIGH-type showed more failure than LOW-type. The characteristics of the IR transmittance of HIGH-type was better than that of LOW-type. In the color acceptance of traffic signal, all HIGH-type met the needs of ANSI standards but 21.8% of LOW-type failed with the standard. In the contrast sensitivity tested with various coloured sunglasses, the value increased with increasing of Land decreasing of test distance. In view of the results so far, HIGH-type met with excellent properties as compared with LOW-type.

Current State and Improvement of Safety Regulations of Working Platform and Working Passage in Construction Sites (건설현장 작업발판 및 가설통로의 안전기준 현황 및 개선점)

  • The average number of deaths in the construction industry reaches 500 per year, and in particular, it is confirmed that the type of accidents and deaths caused by disasters such as work platforms has occupied more than 60% of the total. In this study, we presented a structured and combined solution for technology, management, education, and cost that can solve systematically, politically, and external environmental factors as well as direct influence factors. In addition, we examined the safety and safety standards of domestic and international safety, and discussed implications. First, direct impact factors, organizational impact factors, policy influence factors, and external environmental impact factors were examined and classified into technical, education, and institutional dimensions. Second, in relation to the installation of the work scaffold, the standards (OSHA 1926.452), UK (The Work at Height Regulations 2005 No.735, BS5975), Japan (Labor Safety and Sanitation Regulations) and Germany (DIN 4420_4, DIN EN12810). In the case of domestic safety standards, similar to the foreign safety standards, safety measures such as materials and specifications are applied. However, details related to the installation, assembly and structure of the work platform are somewhat different from those in the United States and the United Kingdom excluding Japan. Using the results of this study, it is possible to understand the cause of the accident of foot pedestrian accident more systematically and comprehensively, and safety managers and researchers are expected to help in the accident investigation.

Estimation for output correction of internal combustion engine (내연기관의 출력수정에 관한 평가)

  • 기관의 성능에 영향을 주는 인자로서는 외적인자(outside factor), 작동인자(operating factor) 및 설계인자(design factor)의 3가지로 나눌 수 있다. 작동인자로서는 기관회전수, 공기연료비, 점화 시기 또는 분사시기 등이면 설계인자로서는 행정체적, 압축비, 흡배기계통의 구조 및 치수, 냉각 방식 등으로 기관에 따라 고유한 값을 가지는 인자이다. 그러나 외적인자인 대기조건 즉 대기 압력, 대기온도 및 대기습도는 계절, 지역 및 기상조건에 따라 달라지므로 이것에 따라 기관이 흡입하는 공기의 압력, 온도 및 습도는 변화하게 된다. 그러므로 대기조건의 변화에 따라서는 기관작동인자인 공기연료비에도 영향을 미치게 할 것이고 또한 연소상태의 변화로 유효압축비 에도 영향을 미치게 할 것이므로 대기상태의 변화는 곧 바로 기관 출력의 변화를 초래하게 될 것이다. 그러므로 같은 운전조건에서의 기관출력도 대기상태의 변화에 따라 변화하게 되므로 임의의 대기 상태에서 측정한 기관출력을 표준대기상태의 기관출력으로 환산해서 평가할 필요가 생긴다. 이것을 일반으로 출력수정(output correction)이라 하고 있으며 각 나라마다 공업규격 또는 기타규격으로 출력정식을 제정하고 있다. 예를 들면 K.S.B 9102, SAE J816B, B.S. 765, DIN 70020, JIS B 8013등이다. 이들 출력수정식들은 많은 문제점을 가지고 있으므로 종래의 출 력수정식으로 출력수정을 하여도 정확하게 맞지 않은 경우가 많다. 출력수정에 관한 문제는 수 10년전부터 많은 연구자에 의하여 연구되고 거론되어 왔으나 과거의 연구자들이 제안하고 거론 되어 왔으나 과거의 연구자들이 제안하고 있는 출력수정식, 또는 규격으로 정하고 있는 출력수 정방법은 어느 것이나 실용상 만족스러운 것이 아직 없다. 그러므로 본 자료는 스파아크 점화 기관의 흡기습도에 관한 출력수정의 문제를 실험적으로 수행한 실험적 출력수정방법에 의한 것과 종래의 출력수정방법에 의한 것과를 비교 검토하였다.

기술현황분석 - 가스 바이패스(Gas Bypass) 사이클을 적용한 오일쿨러(Oil cooler) 연구

  • 공작기계의 고속화, 다축화, 복잡화에 따른 열변형 오차가 공작기계에서 발생하는 오차의 대부분을 차지하고 있다. 이러한 열변형 오차를 최소화 하기 위해 공작기계의 발열부에 차가운 오일을 공급하여 냉각함으로써, 열변형을 제거하는 장치가 오일쿨러이다. 오일쿨러는 제어 방법에 따라 On-off, 가스 바이패스, 인버터 방식 등이 사용된다. 초정밀 공작기계에는 주로 가스 바이패스 및 인버터 방식이 사용되는데, 인버터 방식의 경우 고가(高價)인 관계로 주로 옵션 형태로 사용된다. 가스 바이패스 방식 오일쿨러는 인버터 방식에 비해 가격이 저렴하고 구조가 간다하며 정밀한 온도제어를 할 수 있지만 부하가 낮은 경우 구조적인 한계로 인해 온도제어 불안정을 발생시킨다. 본 연구에서는 기존 바이패스 방식 오일쿨러에서 나타나는 문제점을 해결하고 보다 정밀한 온도제어를 위해 2개의 전자밸브를 갖는 듀얼 밸브 방식 오일쿨러 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 듀얼 밸브 오일쿨러 시스템의 성능검증을 위해 정격운전, DIN 8602 규격, ISO/DIS 230-3 운전모드에서 성능을 비교/분석하였다.

Study on the Measurement of TMP Pumping Speed (터보분자펌프(TMP) 배기속도 측정에 관한 고찰)

  • Methods of the characteristics evaluation of turbo-molecular pumps (TMP) are well-defined in the international measurement standards such as ISO, PNEUROP, DIN, JIS, and AVS. The Vacuum Center in the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) has recently designed, constructed, and established the integrated characteristics evaluation system of TMPs based on the international documents by continuously pursuing and acquiring the reliable international credibility through measurement perfection. The measurement of TMP pumping speed is normally performed with the throughput and orifice methods dependent on the mass flow regions. However, in the UHV range of the molecular flow region, the high uncertainties of the gauges, mass flow rates, and conductance are too critical to precisely accumulate reliable data. In order to solve the uncertainty problems of pumping speeds in the UHV range, we introduced a SRG with 1% accuracy and a constant volume flow meter (CVFM) to measure the finite mass flow rates down to $10^{-1}$ Pa-L/s with 3% uncertainty for the throughput method. In this way we have performed the measurement of pumping speed down to $10^{-4}$ Pa with an uncertainty of less than 6% for a 1000 L/s TMP. In this article we suggest that the CVFM has an ability to measure the conductance of the orifice experimentally with flowing the known mass through the orifice chambers, so that we may overcome the discontinuity problem encountering during introducing two measurement methods in one pumping speed evaluation sequence.
