Chemo-mechanical Analsis of Bifunctional Linear DGEBA/Linear Amine Resin Casting Systems (DGEBA/선형 아민경화제의 주쇄에 포함된 질소 및 탄소원자 개수에 따른 물성 변화 연구)

  • To determine the effect of chain length of linear amine curing agents on the thermal and mechanical properties, standard epoxy resin, diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) was cured with diethylenetriamine (DETA), triethylenetetraamine (TETA) and tetraethylenepentaamine (TEPA) in a stoichiometrically equivalent ratio. From this work, the effect of linear amine curing agents on the thermal and mechanical properties was significantly influenced by chain length of curing agents. In contrast, the results showed that the DGEBA/DETA system had higher values than the DGEBA/TETA and DGEBA/TEPA system in the density, shrinkage (%), thermal expansion coefficient, tensile modulus, and flexural strength. Whereas the DGEBA/DETA cure system had lower values than the DGEBA/TETA and DGEBA/TEPA cure system in the maximum exothermic temperature, conversion (%), and T$_{g}$. These findings imply that the differences in the maximum conversion about the chain length of curing agents affect the thermal and mechanical properties.s.

  • To determine the effect of numbers of nitrogen atom bonded at ethyl group included in main chain of linear amine curing agents of epoxy-cure systems on the thermal and mechanical properties, standard epoxy resin DGEBF was cured with DETA, TETA and TEPA in a stoichiometrically equivalent ratio. From this work, the effect of curing agents of the DGEBF/amine systems oil the thermal and mechanical properties was significantly influenced by numbers of nitrogen atom of curing agents. The results showed that heat of reaction increased, and maximum exothermic temperature decreased with the decrease of numbers of nitrogen atom. In case of cured systems, density and maximum conversion(%) had no relation to numbers of nitrogen atom, but flexural modulus and tensile modulus increased with the decrease of numbers of nitrogen atom in main chain. Thermal stability, shrinkage(%), Tg, tensile and flexural strength showed irregular tendency having nothing to do with numbers of nitrogem atom at a sight. This findings imply that the differences in the maximum conversion(%) about the chain length of curing agents affect the thermal and mechanical properties.

  • The corrosion inhibition of copper-nickel alloy by Ethylenediamine (EDA) and Diethylenetriamine (DETA) in 1.5M HCl has been investigated by weight loss technique at different temperatures. Maximum value of inhibitor efficiency was 75% at $35^{\circ}C$ and 0.2 M inhibitor concentration EDA, while the lower value was 4% at $35^{\circ}C$ and 0.01 M inhibitor concentration DETA. Two mathematical models were used to represent the corrosion rate data, second order polynomial model and exponential model respectively. Nonlinear regression analysis showed that the first model was better than the second model with high correlation coefficient. The reactivity of studied inhibitors was analyzed through theoretical calculations based on density functional theory (DFT). The results showed that the reactive sites were located on the nitrogen (N1, N2 and N4) atoms.

  • Trace amount of uranyl (II) has been determined spectrophotometrically by measuring the optical density of the light blue yellowish coloured solutions formed by reaction between the metal ion and nicotinohydroxamic acid (NHx) in presence of different secondary ligands in strong isoamyl alcohol alkaline medium. The absorption maxima for both aqueous and extracted systems measured at their respective optimum pH were found to be 360 and 559 nm (DETA), 375 and 358 nm (EDA), 369 and 362 nm (piperidine), 354 and 341 nm (pyridine) and 363 and 336 nm (3 piperidine), 354 and 341 nm (pyridine) and 363 and 336 nm (3 - picoline), respectively at which Beer's law was obeyed. Effect of pH, reagent concentration, order of addition of reagent, time, temperature and solvent media on the absorption spectra have also been studied. Among the different systems studied, the shortest concentration range of uranyl(II) adhering to Beer's Law was 2.4 - 10.5 ppm observed for $UO_2(II)$ - NHx - DETA system in aqueous medium and also for iso amyl alcohol(IAA) extracted $UO_2$ - NHx - pyridine system was 2.4 - 7.8.

  • An expert system that diagnoses the malfunction of local area network is developed. The system detects specific devices in the network as the source of thd deta disconnection. These soures are sct to goals in the knowledge base and rules are constructed by uncluding all possible occurrences un thd connection of therminals and host computers. An approach via OR graph is employed for thd systematic rule generation. The system is implemented in a shell and illustrative inference processes are presented.

  • PP-g-AA-Am nonwoven fabric, which possess anionic exchangeable function, was prepared by chemical modification of carboxyl (-COOH) group of PP-g-AA nonwoven fabric to amine ($-NH_2$) group using diethylene triamine (DETA). Its adsorption characteristics for anionic nutrients including isotherm, kinetics and co-anions were studied by batch adsorption experiments. Adsorption equilibriums of $PO_4$-P on PP-g-AA-Am fabric were well described by the Langmuir isotherm model, and their adsorption energies were ranged 10.3 kJ/mol indicating an ion-exchange process as primary adsorption mechanism. The adsorption selectivity of PP-g-AA-Am nonwoven fabric for anions under competition with each other was in following order: $SO_4\;^{2-}$>$PO_4\;^{3-}$>$NO_3\;^-$>$NO_2\;^-$. Also, all results obtained from this study indicate that the $PO_4$-P removal capacity of PP-g-AA-Am nonwoven fabric was extremely superior to that of PA308 anion-exchange resin.

  • The effect of code selection for a multicode DS/CDMA system is evaluated for a high deta rate transmission, The performance is evaluated in terms of bit error and outage probabilities. The multipath fading channel is modeled as a Nakagami-m distribution which has been known to be appropriate to model the multipath fading in urban as well as indoor channels. From simulation results, it is shown that the concatenated sequence of Walsh code and Gold sequence is most promising among many code selections. The considerations in this paper can be applied to the next-generation mobile communication systems such as IMT-2000 which requires high bit rate transmissions.

  • 본 논문은 이상전압으로부터 배전선로 및 전력기기를 보호하기 위해 사용되는 폴리머피뢰기에 대해 침수 시험을 실시하여 침수 전후 폴리머피뢰기의 특성변화를 평가하였다. 침수 시험은 수온 95[$^{\circ}C$]에서 20일 동안 실시하였다. 침수 시험 전후 폴리머피뢰기의 특성분석은 푸리에변환 적외선분광기(FTR : fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer), 유전열분석(DETA : dielectric thermal analyzer), 발수성 측정, 절연저항 측정, 누설전류 측정, 동작개시전압 측정 둥으로 연구 하였다. 이를 통해 침수시험의 열화 효과에 대해 검토하였다.

  • 당사의 CAD/CAM시스템은 미국 WRIST사와 CIM 추진에 계약을 체결한 1987년 6월이래 본격 적으로 도입되기 시작하였다. 그 이전에도 개별부서에서 CAD/CAM 시스템을 사용하고 있었 으나 체계적이지 못하고 단속적인 시스템에 지나지 않았다. 본격적으로 도입이 시작된 시스템은 386PC와 ANVIL이라는 소프트웨어를 중심으로 구성되어 있었으며 도입 초기단계에서는 별다른 문제점이 없이 시스템을 사용해 왔다. 그러나 1990년도에 들어서면서 규모가 커지고 PC가 가지는 한계점과 ANVIL이라는 소프트웨어 특성이 당사의 환경에 적절히 부응하지 못해 다른 시스템의 도입을 결정하게 되었고 많은 논란을 거쳐 현재 당사의 주 시스템인 Intergraph사의 시스템 도 입을 결정하게되었고 1992년 중반에 Intergraph의 워크스테이션을 중심한 시스템이 당사에 설 치되었다. 현재는 개별적 시스템 사용과 아울러 EDB(engineering deta base)와 CAPP(computer aided process planning) 시스템 구축을 위한 제반작업들이 활발히 진행중이다.

  • This paper describes the characteristic analyses and a new design of the bushing for the pole transformers. The mechanical breakdown of the upper part of the bushing was frequently occurred. This caused the leakage of mineral oil, resulted in the interruption of electric power. Therefore, the bushings were investigated by the material analytical method and Finite Element Method. The analyses were performed by the Induced Coupled Plasma(ICP), X-ray diffraction(XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), and Dielectric Thermal Analyzer(DETA). Also, the Von-Mises stress of the top part of bushing was determined by using ANSYS program. The Von-Mises stress of the newly designed bushing was reduced about 50%. Therefore, if we apply the newly designed bushing, the number of mechanical breakdown may be decreased.
