초전도자석 충전용 고온초전도전원장치의 특성해석 (Analysis of the Operational Characteristic of a High-Tc Superconducting Power Supply for Charging of the Superconducting Magnet)

  • This paper presents the design and fabrication of a high-Tc superconducting (HTS) power supply for charging of the HTS magnet load, and its characteristics have been analyzed through experiments. HTS power supply consists of two heaters, an electromagnet, a Bi-2223 solenoid and a Bi-2223 pancake magnet load. In this experiment, 331 mH electromagnet and 0.8 A dc heater current were used, and 8.5 sec and 17 sec were used for pumping period. Mechanism of the superconducting switch is used for heater-trigger. In order to measure the pumping-current with respect to the magnet flux changes, hall sensor was installed at the center of the Bi-2223 pancake load. The experimental observations have been compared with the theoretical predictions. In this experiment, the pumping-current has reached about 1.2 A. In computer simulation, the maximum pumping-current of the system has been predicted to be about 2.7 A.

  • E-Beam 기법을 이용하여 증착시킨 Ag doped CdS 박막은 육방정계이고 공기, Ar 분위기에서 $^550{\circ}C$로 열처리한 결과 grain size가 1$mu extrm{m}$ 정도로 성장되었고, Van Der Pauw 방법으로 구한 Hall data로부터 CdS crystal은 n형 반도체이고 상온에서의 carrier 농 도는 2.7 $\times$ 1011cm-3이고 Hall mobility는 5.8 $\times$ 102cm2V-1sec-1정도임을 알 수 있었다. CdS : Ag 박막의 PL spectra는 Gaussian curve를 보여주었고, spectra peak는 파장이 520nm 근처에 위치하고 있으며, CdS : Ag 박막에서의 광전류(pc)와 암전류(dc)의 ratio(pc/dc)는 공기 중에서 열처리한 시료의 값이 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 3상 PWM 컨버터는 입력 전류를 정현적으로 제어할 수 있어 입력 전류의 고조파 성분을 감소시킬 수 있고 입력 전압에 대하여 입력 전류의 위상을 제어할 수 있다. 본 논문은 3상 PWM 컨버터의 역률개선을 위하여 전원전압센서를 사용하지 않고 가상자속기반 벡터제어를 적용한 새로운 센서리스 제어방식을 연구하였다. 직류출력전압은 칼만 필터를 적용하여 추정한 가상자속에 의해 제어되며, 동기위상은 추정된 가상자속을 이용하여 위상을 얻는다. 제시한 PFC 알고리즘은 역률개선 및 가변영역에서 직류출력전압, 부하변동에서 직류출력전압을 정밀하게 제어할 수 있는 우수성을 가진다. 본 논문에서 제안한 가상자속추정 알고리즘을 적용한 칼만 필터 성능은 실험과 시뮬레이션을 통해서 검증하였다.

Nafion 기반 IPMC 응용 및 개발 동향 (Trends of Nafion-based IPMC Application and Development)

  • Recently, polymer-metal composite (IPMC)-based ionic artificial muscle has been drawing a huge attention for its excellent soft actuator performance having outstanding soft actuator performance with efficient conversion of electrical energy to mechanical energy under low working voltage. In addition, light, flexible and soft nature of IPMC and high bending strain response enabled development of versatile sensor application in association with soft actuator. In this paper, current issues of IPMC were discussed including standardizing preparation steps, relaxation under DC bias, inhibiting solvent evaporation, and improving poor output force. Solutions for these drawbacks of IPMC have recently been suggested in recent studies. After following explanation of the IPMC working mechanism, we investigate the main factors that affect the operating performance of the IPMC. Then, we reviewed the optimized IPMC actuator fabrication conditions especially for the preparation process, additive selection for a thicker membrane, water content, solvent substitutes, encapsulation, etc. Lastly, we considered the pros and cons of IPMCs for sensor application in a theoretical and experimental point of view. The strategies discussed in this paper to overcome such deficiencies of IPMCs are highly expected to provide a scope for IPMC utilization in soft robotics application.

대형연소기에 적용되는 저주파 전자식 점화 트랜스 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Low Frequency Electronic Ignition Trans for Large Combustors)

  • 본 논문은 보일러에 사용되는 점화트랜스에 대해 연구를 하였다. 점화봉 길이와 점화봉 간격 변화에 관계없이 출력주파수는 59.5~61.3Hz 사이에서 측정되었고 저주파 회로는 정상적으로 동작된 것을 알 수 있었다. 점화봉 간격이 2~10mm 변화를 주었을 때, 점화봉 길이가 30cm에서는 2.8A에서 3.45A까지 측정되었다. 점화봉 길이가 500cm에서는 9.37A에서 14.5A까지 측정되었고 1000cm에서는13.2A에서 32.6A까지 측정되었다. 점화봉 길이와 점화봉 간격이 증가 될수록 전류는 증가되었다. 2차코일 출력전압을 측정한 결과. 점화봉 길이가 30cm에서는 AC 0.84kV~AC 1.75kV로 측정되었고 500cm 인 경우는 AC 1.17kV~AC 1.944로 측정되었고 1000cm에서는 AC 1.4kV~AC 7.18kV까지 측정되었다. 점화봉 길이와 점화봉 간격이 증가되면 2차코일 출력전압도 증가되었다. 점화트랜스의 출력전압 측정한 결과, 점화봉 길이가 30cm에서는 DC 1.11kV~DC 1.57kV 까지 측정되었고 500cm 인 경우는 DC 2.49kV~DC 3.72kV, 1000cm에서는 DC 3.78kV~DC 9.42kV까지 측정되어서 점화봉 길이와 점화봉 간격이 증가되면 출력전압이 증가된 것을 알 수 가 있었다.

퀜치 시 초전도 한류기의 온도 (Temperature Behavior of Superconducting Fault Current Limiters during Quenches)

  • We investigated temperature behavior of superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs) during quenches. Knowledge on temperature behavior during quenches is important to the design of SFCLs, because the temperature of SFCLs is related to their stability. SFCLs were fabricated by patterning $Au/YBa_2Cu_3O_7$ thin films grown on sapphire substrates into meander lines by photolithography. A gold film grown on the back side of the substrate was patterned into a meander line, and used as a temperature sensor. The front meander line was subjected to simulated AC fault currents, and the back line to DC current. They were immersed in liquid nitrogen during the experiment for effective cooling. Overall, temperature at the back side of SFCLs was close to that at the front side. It was closer at the beginning of faults, and at lower applied voltages. Temperature distribution at the back side was even except at the edge, as at the front side. These results tell that the whole SFCL was heated to similar degree during quenches, and that effective cooling of SFCLs at the back side is as important to the stability of SFCLs as at the front side. The results could be explained with the concept of heat transfer within the film.

Diminution of Current Measurement Error in Vector Controlled AC Motor Drives

  • The errors generated from current measurement paths are inevitable, and they can be divided into two categories: offset error and scaling error. The current data including these errors cause periodic speed ripples which are one and two times the stator electrical frequency respectively. Since these undesirable ripples bring about harmful influences to motor driving systems, a compensation algorithm must be introduced to the control algorithm of the motor drive. In this paper, a new compensation algorithm is proposed. The signal of the integrator output of the d-axis current regulator is chosen and processed to compensate for the current measurement errors. Usually the d-axis current command is zero or constant to acquire the maximum torque or unity power factor in the ac drive system, and the output of the d-axis current regulator is nearly zero or constant as well. If the stator currents include the offset and scaling errors, the respective motor speed produces a ripple related to one and two times the stator electrical frequency, and the signal of the integrator output of the d-axis current regulator also produces the ripple as the motor speed does. The compensation of the current measurement errors is easily implemented to smooth the signal of the integrator output of the d-axis current regulator by subtracting the DC offset value or rescaling the gain of the hall sensor. Therefore, the proposed algorithm has several features: the robustness in the variation of the mechanical parameters, the application of the steady and transient state, the ease of implementation, and less computation time. The MATLAB simulation and experimental results are shown in order to verify the validity of the proposed current compensating algorithm.

역기전력 추정법을 이용한 브러시리스 직류 전동기의 홀센서 상전류 전환시점 보상 방법 (Position Correction Method for Misaligned Hall-Effect Sensor of BLDC Motor using BACK-EMF Estimation)

  • This paper proposes a new position compensation method for misaligned Hall-effect sensors of BLDCM(Brushless DC Motor). If the Hall-effect sensors are installed at wrong position, the exact rotor position cannot be obtained. Therefore, when the BLDCM is controlled with this wrong position, the torque ripple can be increased and the average torque also decreases. The back-EMF of BLDCM can be obtained by using the voltage equation and by multiplying the back-EMF constant and rotor speed. At a constant speed, the estimated back-EMF by using the multiplication of the back-EMF constant and rotor speed is constant, but the estimated back-EMF from the voltage equation decreases at the commutation point because the line-to-line back-EMF of two conducting phases is start to decrease at this point. Therefore, by using the difference between these two estimated back-EMFs, the commutation point of the phase current can be determined and position compensation can be carried out. The proposed position correction method doesn't require additional hardware circuit and can be easily implemented. The validity of the proposed position compensation method is verified through several experiments.

HDD 스핀들 모터의 초기 구동 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Start-up Control for HDD Spindle Motors)

  • Optimization method for the open loop commutation time intervals in HDD spindle start-up control is presented in this paper. A hard disk drive(HDD) uses a sensorless brushless DC motor(BLDC) for the platter rotation. Because there is no direct sensor for the rotor position, open loop commutations after sensing the rotor position at a standstill using inductive sensing method are performed to speed up the rotor up to a certain speed where the zero crossings of the back electromotive force(EMF) are measurable. Therefore successful open loop commutations are necessary for the stable start-up control of the spindle motors. Random neighborhood search(RNS) algorithm is introduced as a optimization technic in this paper. Rotor speed and its standard deviation are used as a cost function and commutation intervals obtained from the spindle motion equation are used as initial parameter values for the RNS. With the help of the proposed method optimized open loop commutation time intervals for the very low start-up current are acquired and tested. The experimental results shows that the proposed method can decrease the start-up failure rate of a HDD spindle motor.

전력소자를 사용한 LED 조명 디밍에 관한 연구 (A Study on LED Light Dimming using Power Device)

  • 주위 밝기 및 환경에 따라서 LED 조명등의 밝기를 조절하기 위한 장치를 PWM 기술과 전력 소자를 이용하여 구현하였다. 주위의 광량 측정을 위하여 CdS 센서를 사용하였으며, PWM 신호 생성을 위하여 MCU를 사용하여 제어 보드를 설계한 다음 광량에 따라 듀티비를 조절하였다. 고전압, 대전류를 필요로 하는 LED 조명등을 디밍하기 위하여 전력 소자를 사용하여 DC 전원장치의 출력을 스위칭하였으며, PowerMOSFET, IGBT, PowerBJT를 각각 사용하여 특성을 서로 비교하였다. 실험결과 선형성 면에서는 IGBT가 양호하였으나, 효율 및 가격 면까지 고려하면 PowerBJT도 우수한 특성을 보였다.
