플라즈마 전원장치용 LLCC 공진컨버터의 이득 특성 분석 (Analysis of the Gain Characteristic in LLCC Resonant Converter for Plasma Power Supply)

  • The plasma process is applied to various industrial fields such as high-tech IT industry, textiles and medical. Therefore, there is increasing interest in the plasma power supply, and demand for power devices of high efficiency and high power density is increased. Plasma power supply for process must solve the arc problem, when the plasma is unstable. The output capacitor is closely related to the arc problem. If the output capacitor is smaller, the damage from the arc problem is reduced. However, the small value of the output capacitor affects the operating characteristics of the power supply. In this paper, a LLC resonant converter is adopted, because it can achieve high efficiency and power density in the plasma DC power supply. However, due to the small value of the output capacitor, the converter is operated as a LLCC resonant converter. Therefore, a gain characteristic of LLCC resonant converter is analyzed by using the FHA (First Harmonic Approximation) in plasma power supply. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the characteristic analysis of LLCC Resonant Converter.

고전압 입력용 SMPS의 고효율 전략 (High Efficiency Strategy of High Input Voltage SMPS)

  • Recently, the demonstration and research on the power transmission using high voltage DC such as HVDC(High Voltage DC), Smart Grid, DC transmission and distribution have been actively conducted. In order to control the power converter in high-voltage DC power transmission system, SMPS(Switching Modulation Power Supply) for power converter control using high-voltage DC input is essential. However, the demand for high-pressure SMPS is still low, so the development is not enough. In the low-output SMPS using the high-voltage input, it is difficult to achieve high efficiency due to the switching transient loss especially at light load. In this paper, we propose a new switching scheme for high power SMPS control for low output power. The proposed method can provide better efficiency increase effect in the light load region compared to the existing PWM method. To verify the feasibility of the proposed method, a 40 W SMPS for HVDC MMC(Modulation Multi-level Converter) was designed and verified by simulation.

  • Due to the development of information communication field, the interest of the SMPS(Switched Mode Power Supply) is increased. The size and weight of SMPS are decided by inductor, capacitor and transformer. Thus, the low loss converter which is operated in high speed switching is required. The resonant FB DC-DC converter is able to operate in high speed switching and apply to high power field because the switching loss is low. In this thesis, it is proposed to control strategy for constant output power of resonant FB DC-DC converter in variable input voltage. The proposed control system is a digital I-PD type control and apply to phase-shift resonant type controller. The output voltage tracks reference without steady state error in variable input voltage. The validity of proposed control strategy is verified from results of simulation and experiment.

  • Recently the PDP is the most remarkable media for a next generation display device. In this paper, we proposed the PDP dedicated DC-DC converter using a new soft switching method because the PDP has a lot of power dissipation so we need to develope. The proposed converter using one transformer has soft switching and a advantage to lower voltage stress in switch and also is predicted to have high power efficiency. we proposed the principles and theory using the zero voltage switching and verified the validity through a experiment.

Reduced Rating T-Connected Autotransformer Based Thirty-Pulse AC-DC Converter for Vector Controlled Induction Motor Drives

  • The design and performance analysis of a reduced rating autotransformer based thirty-pulse AC-DC converter is carried out for feeding a vector controlled induction motor drive (VCIMD). The configuration of the proposed autotransformer consists of only two single phase transformers, with their windings connected in a T-shape, resulting in simplicity in design, manufacturing and in a reduction in magnetics rating. The design procedure of the autotransformer along with the newly designed interphase transformer is presented. The proposed configuration has flexibility in varying the transformer output voltage ratios as required. The design of the autotransformer can be modified for retrofit applications, where presently a 6-pulse diode bridge rectifier is used. The proposed thirty-pulse AC-DC converter is capable of suppressing less than $29^{th}$ harmonics in the supply current. The power factor is also improved to near unity in the wide operating range of the drive. A comparison of different power quality indices at AC mains and DC bus is demonstrated in a conventional 6-pulse AC-DC converter and the proposed AC-DC converter feeding a VCIMD. A laboratory prototype of the proposed autotransformer based 30-pulse AC-DC converter was developed with test results validating the proposed design and system.

  • 본 논문에서는 UPQC 시스템과 SVC를 결합한 새로운 형태의 보상장치를 제안하고자 한다. 기존의 UPQC는 직렬형 인버터, 병렬형 인버터, DC 링크로 구성되어 있어있으며 우수한 전력품질 보상 성능을 보이지만 높은 인버터 정격을 요구한다. 제안된 방식은 직렬형 인버터, 병렬형 인버터와 DC 링크 그리고 병렬형 인버터의 출력단에 결합된 SVC로 구성되어 있으며, 기존 UPQC에 비해 넓은 무효전력 보상 범위와 낮은 DC 링크 전압의 장점을 가지고 있다. 또한, SVC가 결합된 새로운 UPQC의 구성은 Matlab 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 차량의 엔진-발전기를 이용한 교류 전원 시스템에 대한 연구를 수행한다. 엔진-발전기의 출력은 다이오드 정류기를 거쳐 직류로 변환되고, 이를 강압형 DC/DC 컨버터를 통해 안정적인 직류전압으로 제어한다. 다시 DC/AC 인버터를 통해 CVCF의 단상, 혹은 3상의 교류전압을 발생한다. PSIM을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 시스템의 성능을 고찰한다.

  • 플라즈마 스퍼터링 공정은 반도체, 디스플레이 등 다양한 분야에서 사용되어지고 있는 박막 코팅 공정이다. 플라즈마 스퍼터링 공정의 특성상 안정된 플라즈마를 공급하기 위하여 펄스 전원장치를 요구 하게 된다. 본 논문은 플라즈마 스퍼터링 공정용 DC 전원장치를 통해 안정된 플라즈마를 공급하고 증착 효율을 높이기 위한 연구를 진행한다.

  • This paper discusses power balance control of photovoltaic/wind/diesel hybrid generation system for remote area power supplies. There are many control methods for hybrid power system. Among others, it must be adopted that the control method to guarantee a stable balance between supply and demand, regardless of the fluctuation of generator power by atmospheric changes. In this paper, it Is proposed that a hybrid generation system has a power-balanced controller to equilibrate generation power with a load demand, which is composed of DC bus-type power systems. To execute power balance control, it is assumed that all of power generators have a equivalent current-source characteristics. Through the results of simulation, the proposed scheme was verified.

  • The concept and results of a simple constant switching frequency delta modulation scheme suitable for DC-AC power conversion in uninterruptable power supply (UPS) applications are presented. Unlike the traditional delta modulation scheme, the scheme has a well defined harmonic spectrum, resulting in a simple filter design and reduced radio interference.
