  • Servomotors are used as key components of automated system by performing accurate positioning, accurate speed regulation, and precise motion control in response to commands from computers and sensors. Especially linear brushless servomotors have numerous advantages over ball screws, timing belts, rack/pinion drives and friction drives compared with rotary servomotors. This paper proposes the estimation of unknown parameters from the linear brushless DC motor which is operated by sinusoidal commutation. The estimated parameters are used to tune the controller gain and disturbance observer. In order to agree with this purpose, Digital Signal Processor(TMS320F240), developed for implementation of a speed Field Oriented Control(FOC), adopted in this study. The processor playing an important role in controller has A/D converters, PWM generators, riched I/O port internally.

  • 우리나라가 조달하는 ITER(국제핵융합시험로) 초전도자석 전원장치용 변압기는 CCU/L(Correction Coil Upper/Lower) 컨버터 형식용 6대, CCS(Correction Coil Side) 컨버터 형식용 3대, VS1(Vertical Stabilization 1) 컨버터 형식용 2대, CS(Central Solenoid) 컨버터 형식용 6대 그리고 TF(Toroidal Field) 컨버터 형식용 1대로 구성되어 있다. ITER한국사업단은 (주)효성과 컨버터 변압기의 공급계약을 2011년에 체결하고 예비 설계를 시작하여 2014년에 최종설계를 마친 후 동년 후반부터 CCU/L, CCS 및 VS1 컨버터 형식용 각 1대씩의 초도품 변압기 제작에 착수하였다. 각 변압기는 제작이 완료되어 CCU/L 및 CCS 형식은 FAT(Factory Acceptance Test)를 완료하였고 VS1 형식은 공장 자체시험을 완료하고 현재 전기연구원에서 실시할 단락시험을 준비하고 있다. 이어 CS 형식의 초도품과 1대만 조달하는 TF 형식의 제작을 착수할 예정이고, 각 형식별 초도품 1대씩은 단락시험을 포함하는 형식시험(Type Test)을 실시하여 형식별 적합성을 검증하고, 나머지 물량은 정기시험(Routine Test)을 실시한 후 2017년까지 두 번으로 나누어 프랑스 남부에 위치한 ITER 현장에 운송 및 설치할 예정이다. 설치를 마친 변압기들은 각각의 컨버터 짝과 통합시험을 포함하는 SAT(Site Acceptance Teat)를 거친 후 ITER 기구에 인계될 예정이다.

  • Advances in FPGA technology have enabled fast real-time simulation of power converters, filters and loads. FPGA based HIL (Hardware-In-the-Loop) simulators have revolutionized control hardware and software development for power electronics. Common time step sizes in the order of 100ns are sufficient for simulating switching frequency current and voltage ripples. In order to keep the time step as small as possible, ideal switching function models are often used to simulate the phase legs. This often produces inferior results when simulating the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) and disabled operational states. Therefore, the corresponding measurement and protection units cannot be tested properly. This paper describes a new solution for this problem utilizing a discrete-time PI controller. The PI controller simulates the proper DC and low frequency AC components of the phase leg voltage during disabled operation. It also retains the advantage of fast real-time execution of switch-based models when an accurate simulation of high frequency junction capacitor oscillations is not necessary.

  • In this paper, this system is operated by PCS that is driven by being synchronized voltage fed inverter and AC source, and in the steady state of power source charge battery connected to DC side with solar cell using a photovoltaic (PV) that it was so called constant voltage charge. it can cause the effect of energy saving of electric power, from 10 to 20%. and through a normal operation of electric energy storage system (EESS). In addition, better output waveform was generated because of pulse width modulation (PWM) method, and it was Proved to test by experiment maintained constant output voltage regardless of AC source disconnection, load variation, and voltage variation of AC power source.

  • The space vector control based voltage control method for a three-phase PWM rectifier requires a lot of effort to design an optimal switching pattern since a switching pattern for the switching section must be designed. In this study, a D-Q control based SPWM output voltage control algorithm was studied for the three-phase six-pulse CVS type rectifier. In the output voltage control algorithm, three-phase reference signals are obtained from the D-Q transformation based on the space vector representation method, instead of the switching pattern, SPWM method is used to generate rectifier switching control signals. Next, a three-phase six-pulse CVS PWM rectifier based on D-Q transformation and SPWM was modeled using EMTP-RV. Finally, the validity of the D-Q control-based SPWM voltage control algorithm was confirmed by comparing the output voltage waveform obtained through EMTP-RV simulation works with a reference value and confirming that the output voltage accurately follows the reference voltage.

  • This work proposes a calibration-free 14b 70MS/s 0.13um CMOS ADC for high-performance integrated systems such as WLAN and high-definition video systems simultaneously requiring high resolution, low power, and small size at high speed. The proposed ADC employs signal insensitive 3-D fully symmetric layout techniques in two MDACs for high matching accuracy without any calibration. A three-stage pipeline architecture minimizes power consumption and chip area at the target resolution and sampling rate. The input SHA with a controlled trans-conductance ratio of two amplifier stages simultaneously achieves high gain and high phase margin with gate-bootstrapped sampling switches for 14b input accuracy at the Nyquist frequency. A back-end sub-ranging flash ADC with open-loop offset cancellation and interpolation achieves 6b accuracy at 70MS/s. Low-noise current and voltage references are employed on chip with optional off-chip reference voltages. The prototype ADC implemented in a 0.13um CMOS is based on a 0.35um minimum channel length for 2.5V applications. The measured DNL and INL are within 0.65LSB and l.80LSB, respectively. The prototype ADC shows maximum SNDR and SFDR of 66dB and 81dB and a power consumption of 235mW at 70MS/s. The active die area is $3.3mm^2$.

  • This is a test report of system efficiency for the moving-actuator type Bi-ventricular assist device (AnyHear $t^{MT}$ ) Seoul National University). $AnyHeart^{TM}$), as an energy converter. utilities a brushless DC motor(S/M 566-26A. Sierracin/ Magnedyne, Carlsbad, CA. U.S.A.) generating their pendulous motion in the epicyclic gear train. It is necessary to know about the overall efficiency of the system. The system is subdivided into three parts: motor part, actuator part and blood sac part (including valves, etc.) according to system mechanism. The motor was operated with a variable range of torque. angular speed and width of voltage Pulse In this report. $AnyHeart^{TM}$ is focused on the efficiency of the motor and actuator parts. 4 $\ell/min$ pump output. which is normal condition of $AnyHeart^{TM}$ system, the total system efficiency is 8%, which is composed of 50%, 85% and 17% efficiency (motor Part, actuator Part and blood sac Part) respectively. In the analyzed result. applied input voltage on normal condition of $AnyHeart^{TM}$ is determined. Also speed Profile with considering filling state of blood sac is Provided. In the test of the in vitro mock circulation. some experimental results are Provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Presented approach.

Especially, the linear brushless servo-motors have numerous advantages over the rotary servo motors which have connection with the friction induced transfer mechanism such as ball screws, timing belts, rack/pinion. This paper proposes an estimation method of unknown motor system parameters using the informations from the sinusoidal driving type linear brushless DC motor dynamics and outputs. The estimated parameters can be used to tune the controller gain and a disturbance observer. In order to meet this purpose high performance Digital Signal Processor, TMS320F240, designed originally for implementation of a Field Oriented Control(FOC) technology is adopted as a controller of the liner BLDC servo motor. Having A/D converters, PWM generators, rich I/O port internally, this servo motor application specific DSP play an important role in servo motor controller. This linear BLDC servo motor system also contains IPM(Intelligent Power Module) driver and hail sensor type current sensor module, photocoupler module for isolation of gate signals and fault signals.

Development of Planar Active Electronically Scanned Array(AESA) Radar Prototype for Airborne Fighter (항공기용 평면형 능동 전자주사식 위상 배열(AESA) 레이더 프로토 타입 개발)

  • This paper presents a design, fabrication and the test results of planar active electronically scanned array(AESA) radar prototype for airborne fighter applications using transmit/receive(T/R) module hybrid technology. LIG Nex1 developed a AESA radar prototype to obtain key technologies for airborne fighter's radar. The AESA radar prototype consists of a radiating array, T/R modules, a RF manifold, distributed power supplies, beam controllers, compact receivers with ADC(Analog-to-Digital Converter), a liquid-cooling unit, and an appropriate structure. The AESA antenna has a 590 mm-diameter, active-element area capable of containing 536 T/R modules. Each module is located to provide a triangle grid with $14.7\;mm{\times}19.5\;mm$ spacing among T/R modules. The array dissipates 1,554 watts, with a DC input of 2,310 watts when operated at the maximum transmit duty factor. The AESA radar prototype was tested on near-field chamber and the results become equal in expected beam pattern, providing the accurate and flexible control of antenna beam steering and beam shaping.

A Study on Operation Method of Protection Device for LVDC Distribution Feeder in Light Rail System (경전철용 LVDC 배전계통의 보호기기 운용 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, when a fault occurs at a long-distance point in a LVDC (low voltage direct current) distribution feeder in a light rail system, the magnitude of the current can decrease to less than that of the load current of a light rail system. Therefore, proper protection coordination method to distinguish a fault current from a load current is required. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes an optimal algorithm of protection devices for a LVDC distribution feeder in a light rail system. In other words, based on the characteristics of the fault current for ground resistance and fault location, this paper proposes an optimal operation algorithm of a selective relay to properly identify the fault current compared to the load current in a light rail system. In addition, this paper modelled the distribution system including AC/DC converter using a PSCAD/EMTDC S/W and from the simulation results for a real light rail system, the proposed algorithm was found to be a useful and practical tool to correctly identify the fault current and load current.
