  • A new high efficiency zero-voltage and zero-current switching (ZVZCS) bidirectional DC/DC converter is proposed in this paper. The proposed converter consists of two symmetric half-bridge cells as the input and output stages. MOSFETs of input stage are turned-on in ZVS condition, and those of output stage are turned-off in ZCS condition. In addition, MOSFETs of input and output stages have low voltage stresses clamped to input and output voltage, respectively. Therefore, the proposed converter has high efficiency and high power density. The operational principles are analyzed and the advantages of the proposed converter are described. The 300W prototype of the proposed converter is implemented for 42V hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) application in order to verify the operational principles and advantages.

  • This paper presents a DC/DC LLC resonant converter with wide input/output voltage gain characteristics and its control method for efficiency improvement. For a wide input/output voltage gain characteristics without designing small transformer magnetization inductance, the proposed converter changes the topology into three modes of operation according to the main switch switching pattern. In each operating mode, variable LINK voltage modulation and frequency modulation were performed to control output voltage and improve operating efficiency. A prototype of a 5-kW DC/DC LLC resonant converter was built and tested to verify the validity and applicability of the proposed converter.

  • In this paper, we have proposed the development of DC-DC converter for LRT power supply. First of all, we have studied converter technology, main functions and characteristics were determined. In also, the converter design was carried out to meet the system design conditions. Based on this design, converter simulation is performed to enable stable charging and discharging of the vehicle system. We have performed the Light-load test according to charge mode, discharge mode. As a result, the manufactured converter performance was verified through the load test, and it's stability was confirmed.

  • A high boost dc-dc converter based on the switched-inductor cell (SL-cell) is suggested in this paper. The suggested converter can provide a high voltage gain that is more than 6. Moreover, the voltage gain can be easily increased by extending a SL cell or a modular voltage boost stage. This paper shows the key waveforms, the operating principles at the continuous conduction mode (CCM), and a comparison between the suggested converter and the other non-isolated converters. In addition, the extension of the suggested converter is presented. The simulation results were shown to reconfirm the theoretical analysis.

  • This paper proposes the boost input type active clamp DC-DC converter featuring the high efficiency and improved EMI characteristics. The main characteristic of the converter is to operate with the non-pulsating input and output currents. Besides, it has the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) and low voltage stress characteristics. For the proposed converter, the detailed operation principles and the simulation results are presented.

  • In this paper, bi-directional buck-boost DC-DC converter for bus regulation system is presented. This converter which has one buck and one boost topology achieves bi-directional power flow using a common power inductor and alternative power switches. By connecting the battery to bus line, it can be regulated to bus voltage and charged the battery alternatively. And as an application, a mode controller is adopted to the converter.

  • The miniturization of a DC-DC converter circuit in connection with the stability is investigated in this paper. As both the capacitance of the smoothing capacitor and the inductance of the reactor are reduced by raising the switching frequency, it is known that the stability of the buck converter declines with the switching frequency but the buck-boost converter has a nearly uniform stability. Furthermore, that in the frequency region above a certain switching frequency the buck-boost converter is suitable for the miniturization of circuit is cleared.
