초전도 전류제한소자를 적용한 DC 차단기의 동작 특성 분석 (Analysis of Operation Characteristics of DC Circuit Breaker with Superconducting Current Limiting Element)

  • DC에는 전류 영점이 없기 때문에 DC 차단기의 차단 동작시 아크가 발생한다. 이때 발생하는 아크의 크기에 따라 회로 차단기의 열화 또는 그리드에 치명적인 사고를 발생시킬 수 있다. 따라서 HVDC의 상용화에 있어서 DC차단기의 차단 성능의 안정성 확보는 대단히 중요한 부분이다. 본 연구에서는 DC 차단기의 성능과 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 초전도체가 적용된 LC 차단기를 제안하였다. 초전도 LC 차단기는 기존 LC 차단기의 인덕터에 초전도 코일을 적용한 구조로 되어있다. 초기 고장 전류를 제한하는 것 외에도 고장 발생시 안정적인 전류 0점을 생성한다. 이를 확인하기 위해 EMTDC / PSCAD 프로그램을 통해 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 또한 초전도 LC 차단기는 일반 코일이 적용된 LC 차단기와의 동작 특성을 비교하였다. 그 결과 초전도 코일이있는 LC 회로 차단기는 일반 코일이있는 LC 회로 차단기에 비해 초기 고장 전류를 약 12kA 더 제한하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해서 DC 차단기의 아크 소화 시간을 약 0.16 초 단축시킬 수 있었고, 이를 통해 회로 차단기의 전기적 부담이 줄어드는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 직류 전기아크로의 전원장치로서 AC/DC 공진형 컨버터가 묘사된다. 또한 무효전력을 보상하기 위한 커패시터와 인덕터를 각각 직렬과 병렬로 연결되어 있다. 그러므로 무부하부터 단락회로까지의 범위에서 역률이 매우 높다. 이 컨버터는 직류 아크로의 전원장치로서 매우 적당하다.

Medium Voltage Power Supply with Enhanced Ignition Characteristics for Plasma Torches

  • This paper investigates a power supply of medium voltage with enhanced ignition characteristics for plasma torches. A series resonant half-bridge topology is presented as a suitable ignition circuitry. The ignition circuitry is integrated into the main power conversion system of a multi-phase staggered three-level dc-dc converter with a diode front-end rectifier. A plasma torch rated at 3MW, 2kA and having a physical size of 1m is selected to be the high enthalpy source for a waste disposal system. The steady-state and transient operations of a plasma torch are simulated. The parameters of a Cassie-Mary arc model are calculated based on 3D magneto-hydrodynamic simulations. The circuit simulation waveform shows that the ripple of the arc current can be maintained within ${\pm}10%$ of its rated value under the presence of a load disturbance. This power conversion configuration provides a high enough ignition voltage, around 5KA, during the ignition phase and high arc stability under the existence of arc disturbance noise resulting in a high-performance plasma torch system.

  • Fire or electrical problem while DC electric traction vehicle operation caused by various reasons can lead to not only suspension of the operation, but also severe aftermath such as massive casualty. In this paper, fire analysis on DC electric traction vehicle caused by electrical breakdown on line breaker, which is in connection with the power supply, is presented. When the electric arc, the by-product of frequent line breaker operation, is not fully diminished, it leads to electrical breakdown and fire. Especially, electrical breakdown can be easily induced by the open-and-close operation of inner contractor inside line breaker, eventually followed by ground fault and generation of transient current. Electric arc is consequent on the ground fault and acts as possible ignition source, leading to fire. Also, during the repetitive operation of the line breaker, the contactor is separated each other and some copper powder is generated, and the copper powder provided breakdown path, resulting in fire.

무철심 영구자석 직류 모터를 이용한 진동자 개발 (Development of Vibration Motor Using Coreless Permanent Magnet DC Motor)

  • With a remarkable expansion of communication industry, a pager or a cellular phone becomes a necessary communication device in modern society. However, a paging signal by a buzzer is often acted as an unpleasant noise in some places, thus necessitating a paging signal by a vibration motor. In this paper, a simpler type of a vibration motor, a coreless permanent magnet(PM) DC motor, is considered to substitute for the conventional vibration motors. Using an analytical method, electromagnetic field and operating torque were calculated for the given inner and outer PM type motors, and the results were confirmed by FEM analysis. As design parameters, number of PM poles, PM radial thickness, coil arc angle and number of winding stacks were chosen for sensitivity analysis. It shows that coil arc angle is the most important design parameter to increase the motor performance, without giving an adverse effect on motor weight, size and manufacturing cost. Based on the analysis of the outer PM type motor, an outer square PM type motor is proposed as the final design. Compared to the outer PM type, outer square type provides more flexibility to attach to the small size cellular phones. With the optimum design of square outer PM DC motor, it can successfully substitute the conventional types with less expensive manufacturing cost. better performance and smaller necessary space.

  • 최근 전력전자기술 및 인버터 회로의 다양한 제어기법의 발달에 따라서 용접기 분야에서의 용접성능 향상에 관한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있으며 특히{{{{ { CO}_{2 } }} 아크 용접기의 경우 용접성능을 좌우하는 스패터 발생을 최소화 하는 기법이 활발하게 연구되고 있다. 그러나 현재까지는 용접기의 출력전압을 정전압으로 제어하는 방식을 사용함에 따라 용접기의 금속이행과정을 임의로 제어하는 것이 불가능하였고, 특히 스패터가 다량으로 발생하는 저전류영역의 금속이행과정인 단락이행에서의 스패터 저감을 기대하기가 어려웠다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 마이크로프로세서를 이용한 인버터 출력전류의 파형제어기법을 사용하여 인버터 아크 용접기의 출력전류를 순시적으로 제어함에 의하여 스패터 저감, 단락주기의 안정화 및 순간단락현상 감소의 측면에서 용접성능을 개선위한 연구를 수행하였고 이상의 연구에 대한 결과를 제시하였고, 또한 인버터 아크 용접기의 AC/DC 전력변환장치로 SMR(Switched Mode Rectifier)를 사용하여 시스템을 단위역율로 운전하였으며 입력전류의 저차 고조파 억제효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, a high speed rotating arc sensor for automatic fillet welding is introduced. In order to track the welding seam, The high speed rotating arc sensor is used. The welding tip of a high speed rotating arc sensor rotates about 3000 rpm using DC motor. The rotating torch is driven by gear between welding torch body and wire guide. The welding current is measured by using the current sensor and rot at ing position sensor. To realize the welding seam tracking algorithm with accuracy, a software filter algorithm using the moving average method is applied to the measured welding current in the microprocessor. The welding mobile robot with two wheels and two sliders is developed for fillet welding. The welding mobile robot can control its traveling direction and turn itself around the corner. The effectiveness is proven through the experimental results conducted with varied fillet tracking patterns.

Numerical Study of SF6 arc with Copper Contamination

  • The present model of a SF6 arc accounts for the copper vapour contamination from the electrodes inside a Laval nozzle of a circuit breaker. Steady state simulations have been done for the arc with electrode gap of 60mm and DC electric current of 500A, 1000A and 1500A for both cases with and without copper contamination. The effects of electrode polarity are considered for the arc current of 1000A. It was found out that evaporation of copper from the anode results in a cooling of the arc in a region close to the electrodes. The electrical potential across the electrodes is not sensitive to the presence of copper vapour, typically less than $4\%$ difference. Transient analysis has been done in order to obtain the arc properties at current zero. The arc current is increased linearly from -1000 to 0A when the upstream electrode is cathode with constant dI/dt of $27.0A/{\mu}s$ (or decreased linearly from 1000 to 0A when upstream electrode is anode). It has been predicted that the presence of copper vapour reduces the interruption capability of the breaker.
