Comparison of Machine Learning Model Performance based on Observation Methods using Naked-eye and Visibility-meter (머신러닝을 이용한 안개 예측 시 목측과 시정계 계측 방법에 따른 모델 성능 차이 비교)

  • In this study, we predicted the presence of fog with a one-hour delay using the XGBoost DART machine learning algorithm for Andong, which had the highest occurrence of fog among inland stations from 2016 to 2020. We used six datasets: meteorological data, agricultural observation data, additional derived data, and their expanded data. The weather phenomenon numbers obtained through naked-eye observations and the visibility distances measured by visibility meters were classified as fog [1] or no-fog [0]. We set up twelve machine learning modeling experiments and used data from 2021 for model validation. We mainly evaluated model performance using recall and AUC-ROC, considering the harmful effects of fog on society and local communities. The combination of oversampled meteorological data features and the target induced by weather phenomenon numbers showed the best performance. This result highlights the importance of naked-eye observations in predicting fog using machine learning algorithms.

Analysis on ISMS Certification and Organizational Characteristics based on Information Security Disclosure Data (정보보호 공시 데이터를 이용한 정보보호 관리체계 인증과 조직의 특성 분석)

  • The Information Security Management System (ISMS) is a protection procedure and process that keeps information assets confidential, flawless, and available at any time. ISMS-P in Korea and ISO/IEC 27001 overseas are the most representative ISMS certification systems. In this paper, in order to understand the relationship between ISMS certification and organizational characteristics, data were collected from Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), Ministry of Science and ICT, Information Security Disclosure System (ISDS), Financial Supervisory Service, Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System (DART), and probit regression analysis was performed. In the probit analysis, the relationship with four independent variables was confirmed for three cases: ISMS-P acquisition, ISO/IEC 27001 acquisition, and both ISMS-P and ISO/IEC 27001 acquisition. As a result of the analysis, it was found that companies that acquired both ISMS-P and ISO/IEC 27001 had a positive correlation with the total number of employees and a negative correlation with business history. In addition, the improvement direction of the ISMS-P certification system and information security disclosure system could also be confirmed.

  • By comparison and analysis of the optical data of the two galactic clusters of Pleiades and h and x Persei and the radio data of the HI gas clouds which are related with those two clusters, the relative motions of those gas clouds with retpect to the two clusters were obtained. The three theories on the acceleration of HI gas cloud surrounding a star cluster by Blaauw. Oort and Spitzer, and Kahn were examined with the above obtained kinetic data of the Pleiades and the h and x Penei clouds. And it was shown that Blaauw's theory is applicable to the h and x Persoi clouds but not to the Pleiades, that Dart and Spitzer's theory can explain the motions of both clouds, and that Kahn's theory needs more improvement to be a complete one.

Space Missions to Asteroids

  • Asteroids represent a significant resource for space exploration and scientific research. Various scientific missions have already performed and planned to investigate and understand the characteristics of asteroids. This talk introduces many space missions to asteroids. Representing missions to asteroids are the NASA's NEAR, Deep Space-1, Dawn, OSIRIS-Rex, SCOUT, DART, and ESA's Rosetta, and JAXA's Hayabusa 1 and 2, and DESTINY+ missions, and others. Although it is a very rare event, the possibility of Earth-crossing asteroids (ECAs) colliding with the Earth can never also be ignored. Numerous mitigation concepts also have been proposed to deflect ECAs in preparing for the disasters which might occur in future days. In the early studies for mitigation schemes, most of analyses were centered on to deflect ECAs with impacting the energy to the object to change its orbit. This talk also introduces many methods to deflect the orbit of ECAs, and shows spacecraft trajectories to asteroids.

  • This study aims at examining the early-stage financing scale for entrepreneur to build small & medium business. The data was collected from the DART (Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System) of Korean Financial Supervisory Service(FSS) in the main. The results of this study show that small & medium business needs equipment & operation financing for about 37 months extent to reach Break-Even Point. The limitations of this study are data collections from registered firms on Korean FSS primarily and no showing about the early stage financing scale for building small & Medium Business concretely. Small & Medium business entrepreneur have to make a early stage finance plan according to a necessary equipment and operating cost in their business field for 37 months extent.

  • The aim of this study was to suggest appropriate factors for production pattern making of women's clothing. Sample pattern designers and production patterners of 13 women's brands were individually interviewed about pattern making process and factors necessary. The results were as follows: The factors to be considered in pattern making were categorized in three groups. 1. Factors to be considered to achieve the correct use of specific materials: elasticity, shrinkage, lining and interlining 2. Factors to be considered to satisfy the design specifications: silhouette, dart distribution, collar and sleeve, trimming 3. Factors to be considered for better sewing quality: skillfulness of the sewer, sewing methods and sewing equipment. 4. Suggestions were made for appropriate factors. A focus-group-interview in pattern design has been interviewed to verify the suggested factors. The factors were presented as a guide to develop the production pattern. 5. For better usage of the factors, standardization were suggested for making process with necessary factors for jacket, skirt.

Studies on the Genital Organs of Fourteen Species of Family Bradybaenidae in Korea (한국산 달팽이과 14종의 생식기관에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to compare the genital organs of 14 land snail species belonging to family Bradybaenidae in Korea. The species used for present experiment were characterized by well developed dart sac, accessory sacs and two mucous glands between accessory sacs. No flagellum in the snails of three species employed(Acusta despecta sieboldiana, Koreanohadra kurodana, K. koreana) was observed in this study. The similarity value between Koreanohadra kurodana and Koreanohadra koreana (S=0.834) was more higher than the other species pairs. The higher value followed was recorded between Aegista gottschei and Aegista pyramidata (S=0.761). The clustering type by anatomical genital organs was similar to that analysed by the shell morphologies.

  • This paper shows an implementation of WLAN-based Audio/Video(A/V) system for multimedia home networks. Proposed WLAN-based A/V system can transmit multimedia data of high quality. The entire system consists of a 16-bit RISC controller, a program ROM, a SRAM, timers, an interrupt controller, a DART, GPIOs, an I2C and the OFDM modem supporting for the IEEE 802.11g standard. The simple MAC functions are implemented by firmware on an embedded 16-bit RISC controller. The OFDM modem supports a complete set of data rates up to 54Mbps. Proposed the system is implemented by an Altera FPGA EP1S60F1020C6 device, a 10-bit 2-ch DAC, a 10-bit 2-ch ADC and RF/IF chips.

  • 지진해일은 한 번 발생하면 매우 큰 피해를 주는 자연재해 중 하나이다. 특히 최근에 일어나고 있는 지진해일에서 주목할 점은 해저지진의 규모가 커짐에 따라 그로인해 생긴 지진해일이 발생 인접지역에만 피해를 주는 것이 아니라 2010년 칠레지진과 2011년 동일본 대지진으로 생긴 지진해일과 같이 태평양을 가로질러 먼 거리에까지도 영향을 준다는 것이다. 하지만 이러한 지진해일에 대하여 피해 경감 및 재해대책을 수립할 때는 지진해일의 발생시간에 대한 정확한 예측이 불가능하기 때문에 연구하는데 여러 가지 어려움이 있으므로 역사 및 가상지진해일의 수치모의실험 결과를 이용한다. 그래서 이렇게 활용성이 높은 지진해일 수치모의실험 결과의 정확도 검증을 위하여 본 연구를 시작하게 되었다. 본 연구에서 사용한 수치기법으로는 분산항을 제외한 선형 천수방정식을 이용하였고, 이를 차분하는 과정에 나타나는 수치분산을 조정하여 선형 Boussinesq 방정식의 분산항을 대체할 수 있도록 하였다. 그리고 실제 동일본 대지진으로 발생한 지진해일을 전파모의하여 분산항을 고려한 수치모의실험 결과와 이 당시 태평양에서 수면변화양상을 기록한 DART buoy 관측값과의 비교를 통해 정확도를 확인해보았다.

An Introduction of Myo Armband and Its Comparison with Motion Capture Systems

  • Recently, ways for accurately measuring the three dimensional movements of hand are actively researched so as to utilize the measurement data for therapeutic and rehabilitation programs. This research paper aims to introduce a product called Myo Armband, a wearable device comprised of a 3-axis accelerometer, a 3 axis gyroscope, and electromyographic sensors. We compare Armband's performance with that of the Motion Capture System, which is known as a device for providing fairly accurate measurements for angular movements of objects. Dart throwing and wrist winding motions comprised movement scenarios. This paper also discusses one of Armband's advantages - portability, and suggests its potential as a substitute for previously used devices. Decent levels of measurement accuracy were obtained which were comparable to that of three dimensional measurement device.
