A Study on ESP Skating English Education Based on Job Analysis (직무분석 기반 특수목적 빙상 영어 교육에 대한 연구)

  • Soo-Yeoun Kim & Ji-Eun Kim 2016. A Study on ESP Skating English Education Based on Job Analysis. This study aims to provide skating ESP(English for Specific Purposes) education model for skating instructors in Korea. For this purpose, a total of twenty-seven professional skating instructors were surveyed according to a questionnaire, which asked about their English skills and perspective of the importance of English study and English skating class. The main results are as follows: most skating instructors' confidence in their English is low; majority of them answered that English study is needed for skating instructors; a majority of them want English teaching that focused on speaking and teaching activities. After that, skating instructors' jobs were analyzed using the DACUM(Developing A Curriculum Method). A DACUM committee extracted the duties and tasks which require English education and conducted a survey that targeted skating instructors. When interpreting the study on ESP Skating English Education based on job analysis, it was evident that the English language would be essential for enabling effective communication with judges during national sports competitions, information exchange with foreign skaters, and for technical skating instructions.   • The government intends to pursue a program to develop LINC from 2012. Through this program, the government intends to nurture expert manpower required by the areas of industry, research and development, and technology transfer. For this, it wants to create and expand various leader models of industry-university cooperation. Therefore, this study is focused on the method of developing a robust curriculum suitable for educating students to a level where they are ready to work upon graduation. In this study, curriculums used by some universities which have been taken part in the program of industry-university cooperation have been examined. As a result there are some suggestions for the future of this curriculum, and they are as follows: firstly, in order to overcome the gap between universities and industries, universities should survey the requirement of local industries and apply this to developing a curriculum for industry-university cooperation; secondly, DACUM should be used and finally, the curriculum for industry-university cooperation should build upon a stepwise-model in the form of a foundation-core-intensification course throughout a student's university years.

  • This paper is aimed to design for qualification structure and criteria for preparation of qualification test of the environmental impact assessor qualifications. In this study, a DACUM(Development A curriculum) method job analysis to extract contents such as task range, eligibility, examination standards, selection criteria of examination questions, examination methods, etc was done by an job analysis committee composed of 9 specialists in the industry and academia. In the first place, this report presents job analysis models by procedures for developing selection criteria of examination questions of the environmental impact assessor. The first step is preparation for job analysis(data research, interviews and selection of experts), the second step the establishment of job models(first expert council and site study), the third step the drawn-out of knowledge, skills, and tools(the second expert council and site study), the fourth step the selection of courses and an examination subject(the third expert council), the fifth step the establishment of guidelines for making questions(the third site study).

  • Even though it is expected the industry on new media contents will be grown constantly, corporate feels that the related specialists, human resources are so lack and it is real that the specialty level on related personnel, skilled works is low. In current situation, it is essential that the active supports will be given to new media contents industry with constant high quality human resource development as a winning point to success. Therefore the curriculum development must be reflected the current field situation in this industry for the human resource to meet the field corporate requirements. The DACUM method is used to develop the curriculum on this study in order to develop the college level human resources who have active adoptability to corporate in new media contents industry.

A Study on the Improvements of Qualification Items for Electronic Commerce Manager (전자상거래관리사 출제기준에 대한 개선방안 연구)

  • This research purpose to improve the qualification items for electronic commerce manager. Former qualification system for the electronic commerce manager was executed 11 times from year 2000 to 2005. To improve the standard for test questions and contents of qualification items, we reviewed literatures about job analysis for electronic commerce manager, electronic commerce curriculum, e-Business market and other countries' similar qualification systems and items. We also analysed the job related knowledge, skill, and abilities using job analysis by DACUM method, subject matter experts interview and workshop committee for development and validation of qualification items. Based on the results of job analysis and DACUM workshop, we derived a job model for electronic commerce manager and then validated it through field survey and additional expert review. Finally we developed and suggested an alternated qualification items using matrix analysis between categorized job knowledge and job tasks.

The Research on Job Analysis of Horse-Riding Instructor (승마지도사에 관한 직무분석 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to prepare the measures for evaluating the job of horse-riding instructor and improvement related to it and for distributing horse-riding industry effectively. Forsuch, we tried to analyze job of horse-riding instructor. Inparticular, we have developed DACUM chart of horse-riding instructor through DACUM method and experts related to it. As result, we found out eight duties and hundreds of job and arranged seven duty areas in total and eighty-two executed works. In addition, as experts said, the horse-riding instructor is the one who 'instructs people learning horse-riding in horse-riding facility and manages horses, horse-riding equipment and man-power.' Such results provide the procedure of horse-riding instructor cultivation which has been presently underway with many viewpoints. Especially, there are three educational processes and subject materials related to horse-riding instructor's examination(Hipologia, Horse-treatment technique, Horse Health management). However, as result of analysis on duty, we found out that racecourse management and horse-riding education theory has been needed to be added and complemented as well. In addition, the work and duty of analysis can be used to be made use up of as work profile and specification and such data can be also made use of as standard of training and submission. Through this study there should be a necessary work to distinguish between re-drafting and role of duty in its own right related to certification of horse-riding instructor in future and it would be necessary to develop study that is able to connect them all to certificate. What is more, there should be work and measure required for rethinking of utility of certification.

Developing a Practical Training Program for Architectural Engineering using DACUM Method (DACUM기법을 활용한 건축공학 실무 교과목 개발)

  • They have been indicating that they cannot make their new employees to be committed immediately to working and suggesting the need for development of the program for improving the undergraduate students' practical ability in the business of architectural engineering. Specifically, in case of local colleges and universities, it is relatively difficult to establish the relationship with local industries or institutes and get a chance to visit various construction sites and meet with experienced professionals. In this study, a new course in the business of architectural engineering is developed for improving the undergraduate students' practical ability. In addition, the class website is developed to provide multimedia educational materials for distance education. Surveys on the programs and course materials developed through this research study will be conducted periodically to improve them continuously. It will encourage their sustainable use.

Development of Job Standards of Clinical Dietitian for the Clinical Nutrition Therapy to Cancer Patients in Hospitals (암 환자의 임상영양치료를 위한 임상영양사의 직무분석과 직무표준 개발)

  • The present study was conducted to provide the basis for improvement of clinical nutrition services through development of job standards of clinical dietitian for the clinical nutrition therapy to cancer patients in hospitals. Developing A Curriculum (DACUM) method was used for job analysis and development of job standards for clinical dietitians for cancer care. Based on DACUM analysis, information about duties, tasks, and task elements of clinical dietitians for cancer care was collected. Developed job standards were applied to clinical nutrition care for cancer patients in hospitals for evaluation. Based on DACUM analysis, consultations from professionals, and field application tests, the final job standards were composed of four duties, 18 tasks, and 56 task elements. The duties consisted of nutritional assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention, and nutrition monitoring evaluation. For cancer nutrition care, 109 work activities were developed. They were composed of 75 basic and 34 recommended work activities. The application of developed job standards for clinical dietitians for cancer care at 10 hospitals showed a performance rate of 72.3%. In conclusion, job standards for clinical dietitians for cancer care developed in this study might be effectively used as guidelines for providing clinical nutrition services for cancer patients in hospitals.

  • In this study, the results were that the duty of optician was analysed with DACUM(Developing A Curriculum Method). Task/Skill Matrix was formed and selected the elements above 2.15 points with the job description. The job specification made out the job description and the preference survey for the optician with the job model. These elements made a draft of drawing up standard of the Optician National Licensing Examination by Job Analysis.
